In commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the beginning of operations of the university in the Mexico region, "Selfish" was tasked with developing a new website that would cater to the needs of a campus experiencing growth in both student population and services offered. 
This necessitated addressing a series of specific requirements for the site, which, in addition to providing information, needed to integrate vital spaces and work suites such as HubSpot, AdWords and some academic resources, etc. Throughout the project, Selfish took charge of developing and optimizing the web platform for administration using WordPress and Elementor. They also executed some HTML site optimizations to enhance the design and functionality for both desktop and mobile devices. Currently, Selfish remains our go-to provider for any web design needs we encounter.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The main challenge we faced was the need to modernize our digital platform to provide a more seamless and engaging experience for our students, faculty and visitors. Selfish not only understood our mission, but was also committed to exceeding our expectations. From the early planning stages to the final website launch, the Selfish team demonstrated an exceptional level of attention to detail and dedication. 
They were constantly available to answer questions, address concerns and offer innovative solutions to challenges that arose along the way. What we appreciated most about the Selfish Agency was their ability to combine aesthetic design with practical functionality. The new website is not only visually stunning, but it is also intuitive to navigate and offers a seamless user experience across all devices. At first, I was impressed by their design skills but their quick response time was probably the main reason why we decided to go with them.

Our engagement began in 2019, and we have been working with them for about 2 years now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The results were great. Thanks to their development we now have at least 4 to 5 leads per week just from the website so the results are already showing.

How did Selfish perform from a project management standpoint?

We didn’t meet our original schedule but that was because of delays from our side. Due to the pandemic, we had to put some of our projects on hold so it took us longer to finish them. They were very patient with us and showed great flexibility and understanding.

Their customer service is outstanding.

It took some time for them to understand our requirements, although we have complicated products and work with machines with many technical details. They could do more deep research on the company so they have a clearer picture in a shorter time.

The results have been excellent. Having an attractive website is very important nowadays, so this upgrade of our site has worked great. Visits on our site have increased and the web presence is easier to understand and to use.

It has been excellent. During the project, I was in touch with the project manager daily; it was all very friendly and relaxed. We communicated via WhatsApp and the communications were very fluid. They were available immediately. It worked just perfectly.

I researched companies online and found Selfish. We have a presence in Guadalajara, MX, at our manufacturing facility and wanted a company from that area.

Selfish designed and built a new CMS based (WordPress) website for Big Span. Although I'm based out of the states, I helped organzie a site map for Selfish and also developed/provided them all the content for each page.

From there, Selfish provide design page concepts for us to choose from. Once we agreed to a design, they started building the pages with the help and guidance of Big Span.

The team composition was myself and another indiviaul from Big Span to help manage the project with Selfish. From Selfish's end, they had a staff of about 2 or 3 working on our site. I mainly communicated with Erika directly on the changes/direction/and overall look that Big Span wanted for our new site.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We just launched the site and so it's taking some time for Google to start ranking our site, but overall, I can say from customers and potential clients I've been on the phone/web with, they really like our new site and it's useful for all the excellent information they're looking for.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Although we had some obstacles with the language barrier (me primarily speaking English and Spanish), overall project management from Selfish was pretty good. They were relatively efficient with meeting timelines and our expectations.

Of course, they could only work as fast as the information I was providing to them to build the pages. With that said, they were responsive and effective with the final execution.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive about this company is how quick they were with coming up with designs and executing pages. Also, they're affordable and do great website development work!

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is little to improve. As mentioned, with myself who only speaks English, it was a little difficult at times to communicate verbally about what we were looking for or asking, but following up with an email always seemed to work just fine.

We started working with them about one year or a year-and-a-half ago.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our positioning has seen the biggest impact. My company has only been in the market for about 2 years, so we wanted to quickly and aggressively position ourselves on these platforms. They helped us with that.

How did Selfish perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through Whatsapp and phone calls, and everything was delivered on time. They were always waiting for us, contacting us whenever something was missing from our side, and checking task status. We missed some deadlines, but that was because we failed to deliver. They were always trying to keep us on track.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Beyond their development work, which was technically excellent, I appreciated that they listen to their clients. They listened carefully to everything I asked for, and adjusted their approach without charging more. They were willing to make the necessary changes to deliver exactly what we were looking for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like to have more in-office meetings, but our distance would make that difficult. Using Skype or similar tools would allow me to follow up more quickly and engage with them visually. As a designer, I would have liked to show them sketches while we spoke.
