Nearshore Software Partner for Complex Integration
Sagant is a nearshore software development company founded in 2014 and headquartered in Montevideo, Uruguay. We help mid-sized companies and government institutions across Latin America and North America build, integrate, and modernize their digital systems — delivering robust, scalable solutions that drive real business impact.
Our core expertise spans custom software development, application integration, legacy modernization, IT staff augmentation, and IT strategy consulting. We specialize in connecting complex systems, streamlining business processes, and transforming outdated platforms into modern, maintainable architectures — without disrupting the operations that depend on them.
We have deep experience serving clients in fintech & banking, telecommunications, and logistics & supply chain — industries where system reliability, data integrity, and seamless integrations are non-negotiable.
What sets Sagant apart is our senior-heavy team. We don't rotate junior developers in and out of projects. Our clients work with experienced engineers and consultants from day one, which means shorter ramp-up times, fewer surprises, and higher-quality outcomes.
As a Uruguay-based partner, we offer the advantages of nearshore collaboration: aligned time zones with the US and LATAM, strong English proficiency, a stable and business-friendly environment, and a highly skilled technical talent pool. We operate as a true extension of our clients' teams — not just a vendor.
Whether you need to augment your existing team, build a product from scratch, or untangle years of technical debt, Sagant brings the expertise and commitment to get it done right.
Sagat's pricing varies significantly, with one client investing $12,000–$14,000 and another approximately $100,000 for ongoing projects. Clients highlight the company's value for cost, emphasizing professional service and expertise, making them a recommended choice for IT consulting and custom software development.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there
I'm the former app integrations manager at a telecommunications company based in Uruguay.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenges were you trying to address with Sagant?
We were going through a technology updating process; our systems were based on an app built on Silo, so we had a single platform that covered all of them. Hence, we were looking to transform this architecture into a more decoupled platform based on microservices with different layers.
This was a big process, so our IT team wasn't enough to cover all of this, and we had to find a technology partner that could help us grow our development capacities.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Sagant's project consists in taking some of the processes based on Silo to build them into a new applications ecosystem. They made the apps using Java technologies and microservices based on QR and Spring Boot as a framework. We also used React for the front end.
What was the team composition?
We've worked with an architect, four developers, and a tester from their team.
How did you come to work with Sagant?
Their architect worked with us in the past with another company. When this project came up, we had a licitation process in which they participated and had the best score; we evaluated their proposal, team, and budget, among other things.
How much have you invested in them?
We've spent about 100,000 with them so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
This migration of processes implied a very important change for our company's systems; it was a great challenge, but they accomplished it.
How did Sagant perform from a project management standpoint?
They're great; their communications are always very straightforward, available, and proactive. Another good thing is that as a big company, sometimes we're unaware of things happening in other departments, but they keep us updated through meetings when needed.
Regarding tools, we use emails and Jira.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They update their team with all the new technologies available. They also have great technical knowledge of processes and problem-solving skills. In addition, their team doesn't limit themselves to only solving a technical issue; they also try hard to understand the context completely and get to know the industry's best practices.
Are there any areas they could improve?
At some point, we felt the team was small for all the tasks they had to perform, and the workload for the developers was too much. Nonetheless, we talked about it, and they were able to solve it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Talk to them about your needs and evaluate the quality of their proposal. We like that they don't give generic answers whenever we talk to them about something we need; they understand our requests deeply and make high-value proposals.
