BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the COO for Cordia at Grand Traverse Commons, a modern and active private residential club for seniors, located in Traverse City, MI. We are focused on giving our members the opportunity to continue to lead intentional lives, and technology plays a very large role in that.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Safety Net?
Safety Net began working with us in late 2013 and played a pivotal role in helping us open the Club in 2014.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
The choice to select Safety Net was based on a number of factors. I requested a tour of their Network Operations Center, and was impressed with their operation, staff, and capabilities. I also felt they could provide a very thorough set of solutions for our company.
Finally, I would say that our Account Rep, Tom Wyatt, who acts as fCIO for Cordia, was the final selling point. He has a straight forward, no-nonsense approach to delivering solutions for us and that relationship is key.
Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.
They made sure that our IT infrastructure was properly set-up before we opened and helped coordinate with all of our 3rd Parity IT vendors as well. During this process they helped us overcome several significant issues that were left over from our original IT consultant.
We also sourced all of our IT system hardware and workstations for our Leadership Team through Safety Net.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked/consulted with everyone from the Owner to their front line Technicians, but spent the majority of our time with our fCIO, their Senior Design Engineer, and the IT Engineer who oversaw the majority of our hardware installation.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The opening went very well, and they have continued to provide us with fantastic Managed IT Services ever since. In addition, they have also assisted us with several projects over the years.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Their team is very effective at communicating, and any issues that our team brings to them are handled and solved very quickly.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We weren't looking for another typical vendor relationship for our IT needs. Instead, were looking for a true partner to act as our IT Department, and that is exactly what Safety Net delivered for us. They are not a company that is "just like the others" out there in the business and IT world - they are vested in our success and have been one of our most important business relationships since 2013.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No, I don't have any significant issues with Safety Net's performance over the last several years.
