I am co-founder of an ecommerce brand that distributes its products over virtual marketplaces like Amazon.

Our company was recently started from scratch, so we really had no online presence or brand recognition to speak of. We needed a sleek, innovative website that could generate credibility and communicate our core values and vision. We engaged Rubika to help us determine how to position our brand, and to introduce it to the marketplace in a compelling and innovative manner.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

There are so many vendors to choose from these days, it can be a dizzying experience. Rubika really stood out to us because they understood not only our needs at the present time but also anticipated how our business would evolve. Their unique insights and recommendations even before the engagement began created a culture of collaboration and partnership rather than us simply telling them what to do. Their prices were affordable and their team sounded well-versed in their area of expertise.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We partnered with Rubika to create a website, soup to nuts. We provided them a sense of the pages, content and features that we were looking for but gave them limited other direction because we felt that they knew what we needed better than we did. They made recommendations every step of the way, envisioning how our business would evolve over time.

Once we provided the initial "skeleton" of what we were looking for, they went to work building out the relevant pages, features and media. They would check in with every few days or so to get input and additional information but were otherwise very self-directed. After several back and forth iterations, they website was complete.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I understood that our project was being handled by multiple resources that were each specialized in his/her own field, but Rubika did a good job of keeping just one individual (CEO of the agency) as our key contact. This approach was very helpful in centralizing our communications and really helped to streamline our comments/feedback every step of the way.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

While we do not have quantitative metrics to demonstrate a before/after comparison, we are very pleased with the results of Rubika's work and believe that the website the agency designed has helped tremendously to support our Amazon sales.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Nearly all communications were conducted over email and via platforms and modules that Rubika leveraged effectively to build out the product (and provided us access to). The lead (CEO) would check in with updates and requests for feedback every few days, shepherding the project through to completion.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their dedication and the commitment of the team, all the way up to its CEO are unmatched. When we had urgent questions arise, he and the team made themselves available at all times of the night. This 24/7 level of service really made the engagement feel like the agency was invested in our success and created a partnership that is uncommon between a company and its third-party service provider.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would be interested in exploring opportunities to continue working with Rubika beyond completion of the website, perhaps in some sort of maintenance/continuous improvement capacity. That part was never really discussed as I can recall.

What were your goals for this project?

Creation of an official web resource of a higher educational institution, combining modern design, academic rigor and complex internal architecture.

How did you select this vendor?

The founder of the Rubika company is one of the best graduates of our university, who has established himself as a high-level specialist during his studies. The potential of the company, which was developing rapidly, was displayed in the portfolio on the Rubika's website.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The development of the project took place in several stages. Development and coordination of the overall design, design of individual sections of the site. Special attention was paid to the development of architecture, including a non-standard database scheme, taking into account the features of the functioning of a higher educational institution.

After the introduction of the first version of the site, special attention was paid to optimizing performance and page loading speed. The site is adapted for the mobile version, for which a separate design was developed.

What was the team composition?

The team consisted of: a customer representative (from Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics), from Rubika: designer, front-end developer, backend developer, experts in the field of testing (QA) web applications, SEO specialist (to take into account the further promotion of the site)

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Since the launch of the new official website of the university, the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics has significantly improved its position in international rankings that take into account webometric indicators.

For example, webometrics.info, Unirank, etc., which significantly influenced the position of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics among Ukrainian universities and made it possible to become students with a much larger number of applicants compared to previous periods.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management is organized at a high level. The representative of the customer is in contact with one representative of the contractor, which excludes the possibility of coordinating the various parts of the project with different people in various areas of the technical task.

After the transfer of the necessary information to the contractor, the distribution of tasks between the team of the contractor occurred precisely and on time. We would recommend such a management model for other projects.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Representatives of the Rubik company use an individual approach to each client, delving into the particular requirements and taking into account the desire of each client to be unique and individual. What impressed me most was the patience of the performers, attention to detail and the sparking of experience for the result

Are there any areas for improvement?

We continue our cooperation in the field of website promotion. There are no boundaries for perfection. However, significant, requiring special attention, flaws did not arise.

Now it’s hard to remember how it all began, but I remember that many times we faced poor quality work, and decided to find a reliable contractor. Since then, we have been working to improve our online store to this day.

We work with Rubika in WEB development sector, for the implementation of various marketing features and additional functional. Already implemented: - Club - a closed community for our regular customers who have certain privileges. - Caching - speeding up the site, as the number of products is about 40,000 units and traffic is 5,000 visitors per day. - Delivery - allows different products to add the possibility of free delivery based on an internal algorithm. - Product Sets (kits) - allows you to create sets of goods and set reduced prices on them. - SEO filters in product categories

We needed a small company of several developers and a project manager.

Constant work on the site allows you to increase the number of satisfied customers and, as a result, increase the company's revenue.

Project management was very impressive, especially compared to other vendors. Their team regularly complied with deadlines and always communicated delays well ahead of time. Unexpected turnover never threatened to stop critical progress.

How did you select Rubika and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for someone that seemed knowledgeable. We know a thing or two about internet and websites in general and once we've seen their own website source code we were hooked.

It was a design / html usual story. Pretty much a usual design drawing / templates / html source generation scheme with a lot of changes and improvements.

We think our current website is almost an ideal website for our niche. We are really happy for the result and overall implementation.

Everything went fine, a lot of stuff needed to be worked on and on, since sometimes (as usual) team member were trying to get to the shortest route, which wasn't always the right one. But in the end everything worked out.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They can go back to things and work over something without stressing you out on extra pay on those things. Attention to detail was pretty amazing.

Some implementations / testing can be better, but for the price we paid we can't be happier.
