RTE provided both the idea, technology and full scope development (software development, 3d models & animation, voice/music etc). At the basis of the project layd colorful cards with beautiful illustrations of animals one can purchase in selected outlets and shops. From alligator through elephant to zebra all the cards corresponded with their respective letters.

This way RTE incorporated the most popular art of memory to the game. Thanks to AR educational software the animals on the cards came to life. All 26 animals were animated in 3D and had the real voices of animals.

We had direct contact with the CTO and project manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The app was targeted at the Middle Eastern market where there are a couple of main languages. This is why the app allows four languages in which all the names can be played and spoken including Arabic, English, French and German. All of these functions, backed up by social media and gamification mechanisms, made the app an amazing companion for every child.

The youngest can learn the alphabet in a playful way while the slightly older can learn the names of their favorite animals in four different languages. All of this thanks to the magic of augmented reality and the RTE Team! The app was available on Android and iOS.

They were professional and supported us by working independently or even over-hours when needed. If they ever wanted any information from us, they asked for it openly using the gathered feedback to the project’s advantage.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their professionalism was very impressive. Despite the fact we had a pretty complex project, RTE was able to understand the workflow immediately and even made suggestions to improve it significantly.

Kids every age all over the world love coloring books. They are still as popular and entertaining as one hundred years ago, but that does not mean that this type of fun can’t be made a little more modern – which child wouldn’t want to see the animal they colored suddenly come alive? To fulfill their dreams, RTE created the Augmented Reality Coloring application, a pioneer way to link the traditional world of coloring books with augmented reality technology.

RTE was our partner for previous AR related projects so the choice was pretty obvious.

How does the technology that RTE developed work? A child colors a shark, a tiger or any other character from the special set. When the chosen animal is already colorful, the second stage begins – the child can easily make it come alive! All it has to do is start the mobile application AR Coloring, point the camera on the phone or tablet to the coloring book and a second later it will see the animal playing on the screen!

The animated objects are colored the same way as in the coloring book, so the child can create an imaginary world and see it in his mobile device. The augmented reality technology means that animated animals can be observed from any perspective and distance. The objects are animated with reference to the page in the coloring book – we can walk around it to see the animation from every angle or move the book.

Some animated characters can be interacted with – the child can make a dragon belch fire or frighten a bird on a tree branch. Naturally, users can take photographs and make films with the animated characters and present these in social media. Animated objects can also be enlarged or shrunk to accommodate for various sizes of screens. The application works on most popular devices with Android and iOS systems.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The Augmented Reality Application that RTE provided was both fun and education – coloring develops creativity and precision in children, while the virtual part of the app is entertainment for the whole family. It is possible to color in a group, choosing colors together and enjoying the augmented reality animals. The children didn't want to put the coloring book away. The number of downloads of the software from both apps was good enough that we decided to roll the project up and expand some of its functions.

Kuba was very professional and patient throughout the process and helped us a lot. RTE was able to address all of our concerns due to their CEO’s involvement and understanding. At times it was him calling us asking how the project was ingoing, instead of the other way around, which shows dedication and care.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their friendly and supportive nature. But also the knowledge they displayed on any given subject, even outside of technical.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No.

NC+ / Marketing Manager

For what projects/services did your company hire RTE?

Our main aim was to promote new South Park episodes through innovative and eye-catching technology as a road-show event. The campaign was organized in cooperation with the owner of the Comedy Central channel – Viacom and us, NC+ digital platform who does distribute TV content in Europe.

How did you select this vendor?

We have decided for RTE due to the fact of the best quality/price ratio in the process of RfP.

For the purposes of the marketing roadshow RTE developed custom interactive software (AR booth) and hardware (touchscreens with motion sensors). The animations displayed at the screen were triggered randomly when a new user appeared in front of a motion sensor placed on an interactive screen (totem).

To allow passers-by to become a part of the animated world of South Park, RTE devised a technology that removed in real time the background behind users in front of the screen. This means that a person standing in front of an interactive screen – which served as a virtual mirror – automatically saw herself in the world of the show together with the cartoon characters. This was an Augmented Reality technology we decided to use for the purpose of our rollout.

Hostesses, who operated the device using a touch screen, could change the background behind the user, take his picture, send it to an email address requested by the user or share it on the NC+ fanpage. Thanks to the dedicated application that RTE developed, users received their photographs and a Christmas offer of the NC+ platform in one pdf. file. The photo and the offer were automatically combined by the cloud.

What was the team composition?

We had a team of 3 people we did cooperate with directly. One tech PM, one content/software PM, lead software developer. There were also people responsible for content and creative direction on their end but we never had any direct contact.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Campaign took place in multiple cities and locations in parallel. We were thrilled by the technology and services that RTE provided. Thousands of people were part of the South Park digital installations and thousands of offers were sent.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had meetings multiple times a week, and we used email as well as an ongoing communication tool. I dealt mostly with the PMs and the CEO, and they all have done a good job translating our vague brief into a successful project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed with the effectiveness of their communication. I assumed that there would be a challenge working with a remote team, but it’s all been quite seamless. There was also zero language barrier which might have helped us greatly.

Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?

No, nothing comes to mind.

Our goals were to interact with passers-by at the travel retail operation location via the innovative Point of Sale (PoS) for our client company. We decided to work with RTE due to their abilities to design and develop complex IT marketing-oriented (adtech) systems that were needed to run the activation.

We had worked with RTE as trusted business partners many times before so we knew their skillset and the team. Also, agencies in the UAE lack a similar skillset and experience, not to mention quality.

To celebrate their 150th anniversary, our client wanted fans, visitors, and passers-by to engage with their interactive display, talk about it and share it on social media. The idea was for visitors to raise a glass in cheer and for this action to be counted and registered in mechanical counters and for it to be seen, noticed shared. We worked with RTE on designing and developing interactive POSes (providing both hardware & software) in 8 different locations of an international airport all connected together.

The idea was for visitors and passers-by to pick up old-fashioned whiskey glasses that were featured on beautifully finished wood shelves featuring the company's branding, encouraging passers-by to participate in the action #cheers. A stylish mechanical counter and two classic – obviously full – Old Fashioned glasses. The counters showed the current number of toasts made to honor Whisky company in that particular place as well as made social network sharing available. Moreover, at the same time, another counter located in the most visible spot in the shopping center displayed the total number of toasts in all stands in the venue.

How was it all achieved? One of the glasses was located on a special sensor which registered every time it was picked up – thereby counting every toast. These data were sent to the cloud which summed them up and transferred appropriate numbers to specific counters. RTE's job was to create a comprehensive solution for both hardware (choose and purchase sensor units, provide custom micro-computers, provide custom electronic devices) and software (custom drivers for sensors, cloud computing architecture & set-up, development of the main POS software, social network connectivity and sharing).

Mostly the CEO and Project Manager that was assigned for the task but there must have also been people involved we have never met, doing the groundwork in the design and development area. We haven’t been in touch with the rest of the team, though, and the communication was between us and the CEO or PM. They handled and managed everybody else within their team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Yes, our client reported that the sales were up significantly (by 25%) during the timeframe of the campaign we had rolled out. Apart from purely financial aspects, the campaign went viral with tens of thousands of interactions and SM shares and must have influenced brand awareness as well as customers’ top of mind when it comes to brand consideration.

They were very flexible, considering the time difference, distance. They were very attentive to details and executed impeccably and on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very hands-on and committed. The quality of the work is superb and with no flaws. The whole team is invested in the project from the C Level down.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing, except having the comfort of proximity which wasn't there as we worked remotely. Although we met the team several times, it would have been nice to be able to see firsthand the progress of the projects rather than via Skype or remotely.

RTE together with our creative agency launched an interactive application on bus stops located in the center of Athens. The app was part of a campaign for a Greek airline distributor AirFast Tickets, and it featured a famous singer Dionisis Shinas.

Our main goals together with RTE were:

• To get more footfall/traffic
• To ollect some social media buzz
• To use innovative and immersive technology to interact with the passers-by

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We decided for cooperation with RTE due to the fact we knew each other from previous (successful) developments. There was no regular tender to choose the developer for this project.

RTE was responsible for the development of the system and blueprinting its all components. They were hosting a cloud computing system to manage and store video files as well as send them out to emails and share content on social media. On the hardware side of the campaign - every bus stop taking part in the campaign was equipped with a touch screen, a control unit and an HD video camera.

Passers-by could sing a 20-second fragment of Dionisis’s song and then send it to their email account or post it on their FB profile. Every participant had a chance to become featured in a new music video composed of the recorded fragments, and the best contestants were awarded airplane tickets by the campaign organizer. The main responsibility of RTE was taking care of every software aspect of the campaign including full support during the campaign.

Our communication was mostly with the team of 2 - project director and lead developer.

The campaign was conducted on the client’s FB fanpage. During 20 days of the campaign, a dedicated hosting service registered 1400 movies with singing passers-by and FB users. The outcome collected multiple positive feedback and comments from both passers-by and our end client.

The workflow was great. We used Skype, email for communication but I always knew I could call them anytime, too.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

RTE always seems to take time to explain everything, no matter how complex. We find this especially helpful considering our technical knowledge (or lack of it).

Nope, it was a delight working with RTE all around. We had really good chemistry and are happy with the outcome.

The development outcomes : AR Bubbles is an interactive app that displays thought bubbles” that appear on the screen above the heads of people who pass it by. The application uses a camera and AI system (image detection & recognition).

Camera can detect a person in the vicinity of the device and assign her/him a thought bubble with a predefined content (text or image). The bubble follows the passer-by and adjusts to his/her movements as long as he/she is within the range of the device.

As a result, several people can have their own “bubble” at the same time. Bubbles are to encourage our customers to check out new products, visit our tenants shops and receive alike important information. The business outcomes:

• Boosts traffic
• Increases revenue of advertised products
• Attracts at least twice as many glances at the screen as a regular ad

We prepared a tender. And we have chosen the supplier who had big experience and it`s offer was a cost effective.

How Shelf Navigator works: a product of our interest can be chosen from a range of different categories shown on the touchscreen installed at the shop alley/end cap. When the product is chosen from the touchscreen colored LED lights embedded to the shelf edges “dance” and lead us to an accurate place on the shelf with a drink of our choice. Products are highlighted by individually assigned color. They naturally attract and keep the attention of customers.

This innovative solution provides a high-tech appearance that meets the expectations of customers. RTE's designs level up mundane shopping experiences. Technologies / scope of RTE : software for touchscreen (front-end), software for LED lights, CMS system to set-up the planogram (back-end). They were responsible for both software development, hardware purchase and a-z installation at chosen stores of our partner.

For what projects/services did your company hire RTE, and what were your goals?

The whole point of the Digital Signage system RTE developed for us was to measure the purchasing power of the developed content. The customers make purchasing decisions based on what content is displayed on the screens. Coca-cola shopper makes a purchase based on the visual presentation of the products according to the best practices of Digital Signage. Regarding our goals, we are comparing the effectiveness of two different creations of the lunch menu offer ad. We plan to display one of them for the first two months of the project, after which it will be exchanged for the other type of ad, with different photos of the products and different price communication.

After four months, we were to collect the data on the effectiveness of both ads and compare the results in terms of whether any of them corresponds to a significant increase in purchases. We were also going to develop a pattern of the demographics of the consumers attracted by different types of ads.

How did you select RTE and what were the deciding factors?

We have RTE on the list of approved vendors and have been doing various projects with them for almost a decade. We knew they had the required technical and communication skills but also the business acumen of understanding our needs versus market trends.

We have divided the developed interactions according to the level of commitment they require from people who encounter the installation:

• Passive
• Active Passive mechanisms are those that communicate only in one direction - from the media to the user and do not require any action from the user.

They are informative and/ or entertaining, but with a low barrier of entry and minimal emotional charge. Active mechanisms are those that require the user’s involvement, for example posting photos on Instagram and taking part in the competition, or even playing an interactive game, in this case, a well-known Snake game.

RTE developed a custom Digital signage system with the purpose to run both passive and active marketing. Their software was combined of:

This was mainly a work of developers and designers on RTE’s end but at times they also allocated their C-level to the job, helping us understand the technology, consumer behavior, and trends that influenced the outcome of the project. On top of that Kuba, the CEO helped to manage the project alongside their PM.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In March, between 0 and 100 kits were sold daily. The face detection system captured a minimum of 55 gazes a day, and a maximum of 1,490 per day. The shortest total time of capturing glances during the day was 66 seconds and the longest was 2,439 seconds (40 minutes). Also in March, higher indicators of the face-reading system showed similar trends to the sales data of the discussed sets. And so, on March 4, 89 sets were sold, with 1,366 registered glances with a total length of 2,315 seconds. On March 11, when the highest number of food sets manage sold, 100, was recorded.

The face detection system recorded as much as 1,022 glances, with a total time of 1,558 seconds. For comparison, on March 21, the number of glances and their duration dropped to 168 and 330 seconds, respectively. This translated into a reduction in the number of ordered sets.

Our conclusions:

• Data that should be collected to be able to fully use the potential of the solutions offered
• Sales results should be available with a timestamp (hour and minute of the transaction)
• Face detection indicators should be available with a timestamp (hour and minute of face and sight capture) Comparing these detailed data will allow us to precisely assess the correlation between the displayed content and sales data

Well, to me they are more than just a software agency with the amount of consulting and advisory they have been providing at all project stages. The team was always entangled with the project and with the people on our end to ensure the result and smoothness of the whole process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The system aimed to gather and analyze the data to come up with the most effective menu board creation for a given venue in terms of increasing sales of promoted products. We decided that RTE could help us both in creating custom software, install it within chosen locations and get back with a profound analysis of the collected data. To do just that, RTE prepared different versions of the software mechanisms, content schedules - different promoted products, different pairing suggestions and special offers, different layouts, and animation effects – all of this to measure the effectiveness of different displays. They are great at what they do and have massive experience working with corporations and enterprises, which we all know can be troublesome.

I only wish there were more projects to work on together.

Our idea behind the project was to engage our partner DaGrasso (restaurant) end clients into staying longer at their premises. The aim was also to attract children and their parents into the restaurant via an innovative AR mobile solution. RTE had already made similar activations with other partners and they inspired us for our mobile AR development.

We had a local long-term agreement with RTE to provide us AR/VR technologies for the Coca-Cola group.

The application combines elements of a traditional coloring book with augmented reality (AR) technology. Coloring pictures are "brought to life" with the use of an application on mobile devices, such as tablets or smartphones. The application contains 2 coloring pages thematically referring to our (Coca-Cola’) partner - DaGrasso pizzeria. Additionally, each user can share their colored models (photos or short animations) on Facebook. The application is available in Google Play and AppStore mobile stores. Regarding the steps - we had briefed RTE on our requirements and they had prepared the workflow on which we were to follow with the timelines and milestones.

One, a project manager who was taking care of all the communication.

We had launched the software on both stores (Google Play / App Store) and added a QR code on the paper marketing materials (trays) of the pizzeria to redirect our clients straight to the download. We launched our campaign some time ago but due to Covid pandemic it is hard to assess the countable impact on the clients.

The Coca-Cola Hellenic Company manufactures and sells, beverage concentrates and syrups; and, finished beverages including sparkling soft drinks, water and sports drinks, juice, dairy, and plant-based drinks; and tea and coffee.

We were to create a unique experience for our shoppers based on the interactive vending machine concept. The idea was to transform the good old vending into an engaging and rewarding Coca-Cola experience. Based on the RTE research findings they developed custom software and hardware for the vending machine gesture-based software and custom motion sensor hardware drivers.

Our main project aims were as followed, increase sales, catch attention, interact with the brand, generate social media traffic.

How did you select RTE and what were the deciding factors?

We have a long experience working with RTE and the decision was made due to the standard procurement department procedure.

RTE developed a few interaction scenarios and custom software for vending machine drivers and transparent display. The concept was based on the visual bait and call to action where buying a product is necessary.

They drafted a new technical project of the modified vending machine (both hardware and software) produced necessary elements/custom electronic parts with custom software drivers custom development produced and mounted casing for motion sensor device / fitted the transparent screen into the vending machine developed and installed custom software to communicate with the vending machine controller installed and configured media server controller developed and installed custom software to control animations via motion sensor.

They provided animated 2D characters for the - call to action- scenarios and linked them to custom software laid down cabling from cooling part to an electronic module

We had worked with a team of 4-5 people. It was combined of: project manager, technician, software developers and engineer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our main idea behind the project was to display on the transparent display of the vending machine the eye-bait animations to catch attention and motivate clients to buy Coca-Cola products. We created several test projects to check what works best on this newly created interactive vending.

RTE experimented with various animation forms 2D, 3D, Augmented Reality, sensors motion sensors, motion tracking and custom software. By running the project with RTE we did test our assumptions on motion sensor embedded in the vending paired with the custom animations displayed at the transparent screen. It appeared to be a significant part of our marketing strategy and it increased overall sales and at the same time boosted attention of the passers-by.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

RTE represents democratic management style. They recognize the strengths of their individual team members and tend to trust their judgment when it comes to the area of their personal specialties. While a project manager gladly holds everyone together, they also offer a greater amount of freedom.

Team members were generally motivated by the trust placed in them. Team we cooperated with used project management software to communicate with us Team Works and we had set up tight deadlines to meet. RTE kept us up to date with ongoing communication and the milestones progress through shared Team Works account .

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

RTE employees are single biggest differentiator, both individually and as a group. Also, their Project Managers inspire us to think outside the box. They taught us how to think different and more efficiently in terms of complex technology-oriented projects. They are real experts in the field.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Due to the complexity of the project, there were some important decisions to make . Being able to make a final decision without outside input is essential for us. To my mind, this could be practiced by RTE managers so the project can go even smoother the next time. However, we enjoyed working a lot with their passionate team.
