Organic search is up 8% in the beginning of Q1. The feature page that the SEO team created is beginning to rank as a primary keyword.

The Rocket Clicks team was very communicative and well organized. They consistently send meeting agendas as well as follow-up items. They have a track record of accomplishing every task that they set for us. We communicate primarily through Google Meet and Google Drive which is an effective form of communication for us.

The people. Tyler and Nicole are amazing leaders and their passion is contagious. They are very purposeful about the people they bring into their organization and the quality is obvious.

We’re a global boutique organization design firm, and we work with companies around the globe in all different industries to help them determine the best operating model for their business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rocket Clicks mainly focuses on SEO for us, and they also offer some graphic design services. In the beginning, they spent a good amount of time learning about our company, and they did research to find keywords that were relevant to us. Then, we sat down together and combined our heads to figure out what we could make the most of.

Now, we meet with Rocket Clicks on a bi-weekly basis, and they provide weekly updates to touch base about what’s going on that week and to do a recap. Every Friday, they send me an email with all the information.

I also receive monthly reports about performance. They put together materials for our team to review and updates to implement on our site. We’re not doing paid campaigns with them, but I know that they offer that service as well.

What is the team composition?

Altogether, I’ve worked with five people from Rocket Clicks. I’ve worked with Tyler (President) and their partner relationship manager. I spoke with those two people during the contracting phase, and I still speak to Tyler from time to time. I also work with a team of three people, including a strategist and a project manager.

I heard about Rocket Clicks through a colleague. This person knows a company that works with them and has had good success. That other company is also a professional services company that offers some consulting services, so we thought that Rocket Clicks would be a good fit for us.

We started engaging with Rocket Clicks in November–December 2019, and we signed a contract with them starting in March 2021. Our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The traffic on our site has been one of the big results. We’ve also tracked the number of form submissions on our site and seen how our keywords have moved up in search positions. Additionally, we track which pages are performing really well and which pages people are searching and landing on, and we keep a top ten list of what our organic queries are — all that is helpful information for us.

How did Rocket Clicks perform from a project management standpoint?

Rocket Clicks’ team is really well put together. They’re very organized, and it’s always clear what they are working on and where everything stands. They’re really transparent and helpful with our questions.

Rocket Clicks is worth the money for their SEO services. I know they’re a little bit more expensive than other providers, but their work offers great turnarounds. Their performance, the way in which they communicate, their availability, and the thought that they put into their work go above and beyond what other agencies do.

We usually communicate via email, and we use a lot of Google Docs and Sheets to track the different parts of the project. We also have regularly scheduled meetings via Zoom where we go through the project together.

We aren’t set up in a specific project management tool, but I know that they use SEMrush. They provide me access to the platform, so I can use it on my end, but they manage it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rocket Clicks’ dedication to being a good partner is impressive. They aren’t looking for quick money; they want to make sure that they can provide what we need, and they really work with us as a trusted partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s a part of their discussion where they try to sell their other services that we don’t need. I can’t blame them because that’s their job, but they sometimes keep bringing it up, which is a little off-putting. However, they don’t do it to a big extent.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They might not be the most affordable company, but they’re really good and provide services that you won’t receive elsewhere. They really pay attention to what you’re saying, so be as transparent as you can and put everything on the table. This way, they will understand what your goals are, and they’ll help you reach them.

For us, the selection process was very easy. We met with Rocket Clicks and there was chemistry immediately. They dedicated a full team to their sales presentation where most other companies we reached out to made us fill out a form on their website and then followed up with a call.

We felt very confident that Rocket Clicks would give us the expertise, attention and dedication that we needed to make this campaign a success.

Once we selected Rocket Clicks as our partner we then had multiple in-person meetings to discuss the scope of the project and to lay out a timeline. Our first task was to get our website redesigned and on to a more user friendly and searchable platform.

Rocket Clicks worked very close with us during this phase to ensure that our voices were heard and represented while they handled the design of the website. Once the website was finished we worked closely to establish our marketing strategy. Again, Rocket Clicks was very helpful in this by showing us the data and allowing us to make decisions along with them on where to allocate our spend.

When we started our relationship with Rocket Clicks we had eight independent sales reps working for us throughout the United States. In 2019 those sales reps brought us one new customer. In 2020 we decided to go a different direction and use Rocket Clicks exclusively for our sales and marketing.

In 2020 we gained 15 new customers and were quoting at levels never seen before. We had a positive return on our investment in the first year and this will only continue to grow as these new customers become more established with us.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Extremely effective. There have been weekly touch base meetings and they have been extremely responsive any time we pick up the phone and call them or email them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The thing I am most impressed about Rocket Clicks is that they actually feel like an extension of our team. Although they are their own company, with many different clients, we feel like we have our own sales and marketing department with Rocket Clicks.

Our website has seen more traffic in the past six months. Additionally, we’ve seen a great turnout for events that they’ve run paid advertising for. We’ve also seen an increase in the number of surgical we’ve taken in each month. I appreciate their reporting by modality. That allows us to track where the increases and decreases in traffic are. We’ve been very happy so far. 

How did Rocket Clicks perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great with communication. If I voice a concern, they get back to me within minutes. Even if it’s just to say that they’ll get back to me with more information later, we still appreciate that response time. We have monthly in-house meetings during which we cover analytics for the previous month and compare the sales numbers of our digital marketing performance.

It’s nice to put their success to a dollar figure. I communicate using a group email, so I can reach several people with information. That way, everyone is in the loop.

We receive weekly reports on the performance of all of these ad efforts, and we’ve seen a significant spike in residential installation leads through Facebook. As soon as that started taking off, we gave them the authority to manage the ads as they saw fit depending on whether or not they were gaining traction. We’ve seen similar results for Bing and Google PPC as well, which is really exciting.

Their project management skills are excellent. There was a tremendous amount of work to do, but they set up great points of contact and are always on top of communication so that we are able to tackle the work in the most effective way possible.

The first year we worked with them we saw a significant increase in our SEO traffic. In year two we encountered a few bumps because of some Google algorithm changes and the technology that our site was built on, which is why we decided to switch brands and re-platform in the first place.

We’re seeing month-over-month improvement on the new brand, but we haven’t fully launched that site yet so it’s a little bit too soon to provide metrics on the performance there.

We’ve been really happy with their follow-through and communication. We have weekly calls, and they’re doing a really good job tracking the minutes and the different kinds of initiatives that we’re working on, as well as following up on all of those. They are very detail-oriented and thorough with their deliverables.

Their eagerness and willingness to understand our business really sets them apart. They’ve taken the time to understand how we work and then integrate seamlessly into that system. It would be nice if they did more in the way of link building, but that’s just not something that their business is focused on. There’s nothing specific that they have done for us that I wish they had done better.

The key is just being very clear and upfront in your communication. Establish what your internal objectives are so that you can establish a roadmap and timeline against that.

In SEO, it’s very easy to go into it with unrealistic expectations, since it’s not something where there’s any sort of magic bullet or immediate return. You have to have patience and stick to your strategy to achieve your goals.

The work went beyond what a typical SEO company does—this was a full-scale advertising solution. They turned clicks into conversions, which is what I really cared about. Rocket Clicks reached the right people, who were looking for our offerings with their qualitative and quantitative research.

Because we already have a good clientele base, I don’t need the online presence to increase my leads. However, the website and a better SEO ranking solidify our firm’s legitimacy in today’s market. I look at the work they do as contextual advertising, so we don’t do a lot of in-house analytics on the impact the site has. The ultimate goal is to show up in more searches and appear earlier on map features and other components of a Google page. We’ve achieved that and will continue to improve.
How did Rocket Clicks perform from a project management standpoint?
I’ve never found anyone better than them. We speak at least once a week, and we schedule monthly conference calls with the whole team. We discuss everything that happened in the past month and identify which tasks we should achieve in the coming months.
Our account manager is responsible for three or four accounts, so he’s very involved and focused on us. I contact him multiple times each week. He’s accessible at all times, even evenings and weekends. I'll write to him on days I don’t expect a response and he always gets right back to me.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They stand out among other SEO providers for their willingness to work with us on a month-to-month basis. That’s really uncommon in my experience; most companies I spoke to require a 6- to 12-month minimum contract. Rocket Clicks has a very personable relationship with me and is interested in meeting my cultural goals. They wanted to get to know my firm and worked to gain an in-depth understanding of my business. They’re very responsive, and we feel comfortable working with them.
One thing they did that really stands out was visiting our offices in North Dakota. They’re based in Milwaukee, a 10-hour drive from us. That didn’t stop the owner, our account manager, and another team member from driving that whole way to spend a day with us in person. They didn’t have to do that, but it gave us a chance to get to know them better, and the interaction added an extra layer to our professional relationship. Rocket Clicks has provided white label paid advertising and SEO services to our group’s clients. We have marketing services agreements with clients, and our mission is to grow their accounts and revenue. Through digital marketing and SEO efforts, we help drive more customers and an increase in revenue for them. It may be as simple as launching a Google AdWords or Facebook advertising campaign or digging into their SEO, looking at the website and employing best practices to make sure that they’re aligned with Google’s criteria.

What is the team dynamic? 

I interfaced with them on a daily basis on behalf of clients. Rocket Clicks assigned account managers and specialists for each of the advertising platforms. They manage the day-to-day activities — the leadership of the paid advertising and SEO services. We communicate via email, and through conference calls.

How did you come to work with Rocket Clicks?

We worked with another company, based in Madison, Wisconsin. The work was geographically targeted; Rocket Clicks was working through that company for one of our big clients in Hawaii, and we expanded the relationship, taking over more accounts.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend upwards of $20,000 per month on our retainer with Rocket Clicks.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Rocket Clicks on one of our big accounts since August 2016. The relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re focused on a niche market, so the number one goal for us relates to the ratio between conversion and ad spend. Our goal is to drive X amount of conversions. This varies by company, but we’re mostly looking for a fivefold return for every dollar spent. If someone clicks through to a site from a paid Google ad and books a tour, then that translates into revenue.

The whole team is passionate about making sure we’re hitting key performance indicators for clients. Rocket Clicks has been able to manage this very well for us, and achieve good conversion-cost ratios, as well as a return on the ad-spend acquisition cost for clients.

How did Rocket Clicks perform from a project management standpoint?

The responsiveness to requests, ideas, and thoughts is top-notch. Anytime a client has a question concerning their digital marketing, Rocket Clicks is extremely responsive. We have no issues whatsoever, which is not always the case.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re specialized in two things: paid advertising and search engine optimization. Rocket Clicks is not trying to be a digital marketing company which does everything. They’re not all-encompassing — they focus on what they specialize in, and that makes the difference for the clients. We’ve worked with other companies in the past which did a bit of everything, but, in the digital marketing world today, having a partner be a specialist in everything Google AdWords or Facebook Pixel, for example, is a benefit.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We have a very good relationship. Rocket Clicks has gone above and beyond compared to other companies we’ve worked with. This is due to the top-down leadership from Tyler [President, Rocket Clicks] as well as the passionate team.

Do you have any advice for future clients?

Vet the company to the nth degree, look at their specialization, and get referrals from current clients. Ask them how they measure success internally, as a company: what are their own performance indicators being put on the staff or the company, to measure success with clients? A partner’s culture needs to fit with your own. We’re a consulting company, so my thoughts about the industry need to certainly match with my clients’ since they’re the ones who pay us.

They understand where we’re not hitting our targets and they make modifications based on that, which is why our weekly meetings are so beneficial. As a result of our work with Rocket Clicks, we’ve seen a lift in all our online traffic and lead generation programs. What even more impressive is that in some situations, they’ve even suggested reducing the expenditures in some areas, even though it might impact their commissions, knowing that that’s what best for us, the client. But you also need to ask questions about the team. Ask about their communication style: it’s important that you know what you’re getting into.

Setting expectations upfront is important. So, if the goal is to get the cost per conversion down, that should be the number-one focus. I’ve realized over time that when the budget increases, the less efficiently it’ll be spent because you’re getting those fringe keywords that aren’t as productive.

We also have tutorial videos that they have been able to utilize through YouTube and other search methods implemented with YouTube to bring a lot of traffic from the videos to our website, which in turns, become customer purchases. They’ve been on remarketing ads to target customers who have visited and maybe haven’t purchased and then see our ad come up on other websites. That’s brought us a lot of traffic which has been a good amount of sales.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rocket Clicks came onboard and revitalized everything. They did SEO [search engine optimization] and remarketing. They managed the Google AdWords and Bing Ads. They have been building out our pay-per-click campaigns. I do social media myself because I’ve been in it so long and we have other people here who work on that. Each month, they’ll give me a list of items to work on, and then I’ll update and modify things on my end on the website that works hand-in-hand with what they’re doing.

How did you come to work with Rocket Clicks?

I interviewed 7 different companies and talked to some past clients. I was looking for a small company with less than 30 people, where I could have somebody dedicated to spending the time working on my business, getting to learn about what we do, and how our business runs rather than a large company that doesn’t have the time to focus. I checked them out really good and liked what I saw. I liked their preliminary work, analysis, and outlines when we had a conference. It looked really good, so that made me want to go with them.

How much have you invested with Rocket Clicks?

I spend $3,000 monthly for their services and spend upwards to $30,000 monthly on pay-per-click. Believe me, I’m getting good results, or I wouldn’t be spending that amount per month with Rocket Clicks. Things have gone up and up since they came on board, and it takes the pressure off me. I don’t really have to bother with it.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in November 2015 and ended in October 2016. Our relationship is ongoing as they are continually updating Bing and Google. They get to participate in beta programs all the time and things that Google offers for AdWords and other advertising opportunities. They’ve been able to utilize those for me. A lot of new stuff has been happening with Google and YouTube videos and search listings inside the YouTube ads. They do a fantastic job constantly working on my campaigns.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

With the campaigns and how they’re optimized, the visits are from quality people that are interested in our product whereas before I spent a lot of frivolous money on the pay-per-click and getting people who weren’t necessarily looking for our product, but they clicked on it and cost me money. With them, I’m getting quality business, and it’s increased around 30% as far as increasing business from checking the statistics on AdWords and Bing campaigns. They built out all kinds of different campaigns for the different products that we have and worked with a lot of the Google product shopping section. They were able to break down my products and get those listed. That’s gained me a lot of business with that.

I know that the bounce rate had gone down when I checked it a few months back. I was at 60% before but now somewhere around 31%. They cut it in half. Rocket Clicks worked tirelessly and got rid of a lot of negative keywords of things that people were not looking for to make sure it’s relevant. They might type in “copper sheets,” but they’re looking for copper colored bedsheets. Rocket Clicks has offered suggestions on things for me to change on the website. That way, the people that come there are looking for a backsplash, it takes them to the backsplash page. That’s helped produce a lot of the bounce rate as well, just by bringing them directly to the relevant product.

How did Rocket Clicks perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is great. Rocket Clicks keeps you in the loop. It’s not something where you pay them, and you never hear from them again. Rocket Clicks is constantly connecting with me and letting me know what they’re working on. They’re always brainstorming ideas. It’s kind of like they almost work for me because they are thinking of things for my company to advance it and offer suggestions such as here’s a new opportunity that we think might work to bring in more traffic in this area. Last week, they gave some suggestions on one of the product lines I have and making some modifications to the website by moving these products to a different position, which was based on the analytics they have been looking at. For example, people were searching for plain copper sheets, and that product happened to be all the way at the bottom of the page. They recommended moving it to the top of the page, which is bringing in more business for that product.

What did you most impressive about Rocket Clicks?

These guys are experts. Rocket Clicks knows everything about search engines and how they work. They stay up to date on all the changes in everything that goes on with Google and Bing. So far, they have exceeded all my expectations. I just like the fact that you feel like they work with you as part of your company. They’re not some outside place who has a cold relationship with you. It’s very cordial, and they do a fantastic job. Rocket Clicks communicates effectively both in what they are doing and the changes they have done to the campaigns.

Are there any areas Rocket Clicks could improve?

I don’t have any negative or constructive critique for Rocket Clicks.

I honestly believe these guys are probably in the top 10 in the whole country.  I researched a lot before picking them because there are so many different companies you can choose from, and everyone claims to be the best. I think it boils down to the personalities of the people running it and the dedication that they offer. They are all dedicated to the business that they’re involved in, and it trickles down to where you’re paying for the service. They’re definitely delivering because the results are there. I’ve been with Rocket Clicks over a year and a few more months, and I wouldn’t continue to pay that money per month if I wasn’t getting results.

Just work with them. They give you things to work on each month through reports, whether it’s helping them with graphics or things for ads they want to run or making modifications to the website. They show you the progress from month to month, here’s where we're at and what we have done. I would recommend working with them because you get a lot farther when you do that.
