i am the managing director of an international academy/coaching campus world based in berlin. we train executives of business enterprises worldwide in coaching, leadership and change management.

we hired ROCC to create two video trailers to showcase our training program and present customer testimonials. the goal was to have a video demo of our training program to show to potential customers. we plan to post these trailers on our social media channels and on the homepage to attract more customers.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

i got to know ROCC at "Außergewöhnlich Berlin" (the coolest Berlin network). I met the director of ROCC, Christian Schäfer, for a first meeting to discuss our challenge. for us it was important to find an individual flexible solution on a high professional level. the personality of Christian, the way he works and last but not least the great references convinced me immediately.

We have had very little time to prepare. It had to start in the shortest possible time. ROCC was super flexible in scheduling, we discussed preliminary arrangements and goals for the videos in detail on the phone. ROCC set up the setting and the technology professionally. The people in front of the camera looked very authentic and natural and made great statements. the way ROCC worked was highly professional. first, the film was edited for content. After the content was released, it was tuned up visually and sound-wise. The coordination always worked, we always knew about the status of the project and the next steps. We are more than satisfied with the result. Great videos!

we worked with ROCC's director, very reliable and straightforward at all times during the project. we shared videos via Vimeo. ROCC integrated our feedback well, adding their own impulses and guiding us to an even better solution.

we showed the videos to our owners and customers. they were all totally enthusiastic and flashed. the videos are well suited for our marketing activities. we can already see that they are attracting a lot of interest.

Project management style was always on short notice, binding, reliable, fast. communication was by phone, email and online chat.

They have great personalities with great creative and technical skills.

I am the Global Corporate Communications Manager for DKMS, an international nonprofit that helps to register potential stem cell donors and facilitate stem cell transplants to patients in need around the world.

For what projects/services did your company hire ROCC Film Gbr, and what were your goals?

Our organization was celebrating our 30th anniversary with a number of private and public events, across seven countries and five continents. We needed to create a video to play at all of these events that would celebrate our 30 years of work, while highlighting the impact we have had on the industry and our continued efforts to further impact the global patient community.

We have had the pleasure of working with ROCC before on both local and global video projects relating to awareness and registration campaigns. We selected them again for this project, as they had previously proved themselves to not only be knowledgable and adept in their field, but keenly able to pick up on the nuances and needs of our specific business and industry and adapt ideas to better conform to our expectations and desires.

We needed to create one film that addressed 30 years of history and highlighted the unique individual achievements of seven different offices across five continents. The scope was large, as the entire video needed be a manageable 5-6 minutes while covering a wide array of topics and achievements, while also including enough time to map out our current endeavors and future plans.

The ROCC team also needed to create the video out of repurpsoed footage, b roll, and still images sent in from across the countries and across the decades (meaning varying resolutions and quality), while ensuring that the final piece was seamless.

The creation and delivery of the video to place over the course of two months, including the initial ideation phase. The final deliverables also required multiple versions of the video, with subtitles in the different languages of the countries we operate in, as well as both a German and English voice-over.

I personally worked with three members of ROCC: the two founders and creative directors, as well as a Director/Editor.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was quite successful and the end product was well received both internally and externally. A key endorsement for the video also came from the current global CEO and our founders, who believe that the video was not only successful in achieving our initial goals, but also managed to maintain our organization's tone of voice and values. It was as if we had created the video externally!

ROCC Film Gbr had a very hands-on approach to project management, meeting frequently with us during the initial ideation stage and touching base only on any aspect of the film that they anticipated may require further discussion.

They laid out clear timelines for what would be achievable and were quick to adapt to any necessary changes we had either for the over all production or specific aspects of the video that needed to be corrected or edited.

They not only listened to our requests, but were able to learn from what we asked for to better deliver what we ultimately wanted. Ultimately, even on a tight timeline, ROCC Film Gbr ensured all deliveries were prompt, even when edits were needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The fact that the company has remained small, with a core group of employees, allows it to be both more flexible and also more aware as a whole of the needs of their clients. The companies founders are creative in their approach to ideation and very good at synthesizing the requests of clients to better present them with a final product that reflects the desires of the client, sometimes beyond even what they originally imagined.

This dynamic makes the company approachable for projects, even if the organization approaching them does not have a clear and final idea of what they want.

At the time of the project, I was the CEO (Vorstand) of Natural Dental Implants AG, a venture backed technology start-up. Our product, the REPLICATE System replaced teeth to be extracted with a unique fully customized dental implant, a copy of the natural tooth to be replaced, including the roots.

We hired ROCC Film GbR initially to produce a 5-minute crowdfunding video, that explained our technology, the market potential, our strategy and presented the founders in the best light. Our goal was to raise about 2 million EURO form individual investors on Companisto, the leading crowdfunding platform in Germany.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

ROCC Film GbR was introduced and recommended to us by the owner of the social media marketing agency we used at that time. We were looking to hire an agile team that understands our needs, has the ability to visually explain our technology and connect to the founders and the management team, and present them in the best light.

In an initial meeting we explained our goals for the project. Christian who later served as director in the video production and Christoph, a meticulous cinematographer understood the need for "creative story telling" and immediately brainstormed about the story line. The production cycle was very efficient. Video shooting in the factory, the interview process between the director and the founders, the light, the mask artistry, the sound track production, the cutting process, the color grading, every aspect was utmost professional but at the same time easy going for us, professionals that are not used to video production, as day-to-day business.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked in several iterations with the director/project manager, the video production team, the cutter and the sound engineer, and received feedback videos as the work progressed. We identified with the team from ROCC Film the missing elements, for the next iteration. The video needed to work for both, professional venture capital investors, and for business angels, who may invest based on their good feeling about a project. Finally, when it all came together, I couldn't be more impressed by the work product. ROCC Film delivered a masterpiece.

The crowdfunding video was very successful. Our financing round was oversubscribed. We raised over 2 million EURO form individual investors on Companisto. After that, we created and produced various image videos and explanatory videos together with ROCC Film for for several years.

ROCC Film had a creative approach to tailor the "story telling" to our needs. Easy to work with, and super professional in all aspects of collaboration, communication, pre-production, on the set, and in post-production. Me, being educated and working as an engineer, I was afraid talking freely in front of the camera. Christian interviewed my in a way, where I forgot that I was in front of the camera. His ability to connect and guide me through that process was a simply great.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team of ROCC Film has a lean, agile, professional, creative and flexible approach. They were dedicated to learning what we needed and delivered within our budget. Last but not least, they were fun to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Back then, working with ROCC Film it my first video production. They helped me through the process nice and easy. We had one unnecessary iteration as we changed somewhat our business messaging while producing the video. The team from ROCC Film adjusted well, it was not their fault. There is nothing that I would expect different next time.

ROCC Film was recommended by an friend. After a short personal exchange, it was clear to us that we wanted to shoot our image film with ROCC Film. The chemistry was right from the start. The two guys were super sympathetic and asked the right questions. The price was not cheap, but not too expensive either. We were able to find a great deal that fit our budget.

At the beginning, we roughly planned together what we wanted to implement. What message do we want to communicate to the investors and which partners will interview ROCC Film first. Chris and Chirs did a lot of organising themselves and contacted me whenever they needed my feedback. In the end, the result was a super image film that was exactly what we wanted.

We only communicated with Chris and Chris. In addition, ROCC Film had helping hands on set and the editing was done with one of their partners.

Thanks to the image film by ROCC Film, our crowd funding campain went very well. We received over 170,000€ from investors and in the end our company was acquired outright by a large corporation.

ROCC Film has a good handle on its processes. Timelines were met and the team worked very independently. You quickly realised that you were working with professionals.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

When making a film, every detail matters. They were great at keeping track of all the details and created an authentic image film that conveyed the company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can absolutely recommend ROCC Film and could not find anything essential that could be improved.
