We work with Rhapsody Media on an ongoing basis. The company handles all our pre-press repro, which includes photography retouching and cutouts, as well as providing a platform - Engine - where we can create flatplans and upload PDFs of our InDesign documents. We are a monthly magazine.

Think were looking for an online proofing and preflight system that could be used by all internal staff and any freelancers. We needed the system to pre flight pages being uploaded to ensure any potential print issues were flagged. We also wanted a system that could deliver print ready PDF files directly to our printers, taking away the need for any manual transferring of files.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Using the Engine system has revolutionised the way Think work on our printed titles. We benefitted from considerable cost savings by switching to online soft proofing. Freelancers no longer had to travel into the office to view proofs and could view them from home. The biggest success came in 2020 during the COVID19 pandemic. All staff were forced to work from home, but thanks to the browser based Engine system it meant we could seamlessly continue to collaborate on files from across the UK and beyond.

All of the team at Rhapsody have been fantastic. From sales through to production and support. Some of our titles have nuances in the way they work, and Rhapsody would find a solution to cater for all reauests.
