I'm a research project manager at the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research - we manage large, collaborative EU-funded research projects.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for capable designers on Dribble and were pleasantly surprised by the details response to our project description.

We had a great discovery meeting, followed by very helpful guides and template to further specify the needs and direction. Then I received multiple designs during a call where the intent and vision for each design option was presented and explained. A favorite option was selected and other design elements were made. Follow-up and changes were all handled through email in a very quick and efficient manner.

In total we worked with 2 people, the lead designer and a project manager.

The consortium loves the logo - it's very recognizable and easy to work with.

Most of the communication went through email, in a very efficient and quick way.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I really liked the opening pitch - it was one of the few where we had the idea that they read our (somewhat unusual) project description. The initial discovery meeting was very pleasant and efficient with good questions from their side.

Nothing comes to mind.

Our website was created a few years ago using our in-house competence. As we started making more and more landing pages and focusing on SEO pages that could help attract more traffic, we felt that we needed more help from outside. Rekos Agency helped create a design for all these new SEO pages we needed.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for web designers in our area using Facebook groups and contacts that recommended our colleagues. We gave a test task to a few designers and chose one that had the best UX feeling, was affordable and was easy to communicate with.

At first, I had a quick call with a project manager where we agreed on the project scope and the idea that should be implemented. We showed the structure of the landing page, design examples, and solutions we liked. Then Rekos Agency sent their evaluation of the cost and started to work when we accepted the project's budget. After approximately two iterations, we confirmed the design of the first landing page and continued to adapt this design for several landing pages with Rekos Agency.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Their design was great, implementation was pretty easy for our developers. Site traffic has increased by 45% from Organic search. The Bounce Rates of these pages are the best on our site.

The communication with Rekos Agency was easy - we used our Asana account for the tasks, feedback, and comments. The reply and changes in design were quick.

Their attention to detail, experience in UX, and professional communication were amazing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Rekos UI/UX Visual Identity Design Agency delivered a successful brand identity on their first try. I was so pleased with their work that we didn’t need to go through multiple iterations, which was great. 

Their efforts have significantly impacted my business and helped me differentiate myself from competitors. Other freelancers use neutral and pastel colors to promote themselves, but my new color palette is comprised of purple and blue shades that make me stand out. When I launched the color palette to my audience, they reacted positively, commenting on the modern, strong look.

They delivered everything on time and transparently communicated the pricing during our first meeting, which they honored. The team was communicative and responsive via email; they always answered questions within an hour. We met in person and via Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with their communication skills and responsiveness. I liked that they made time for me and never made me wait on anything. Rather than just taking my money, they thought deeply about my values, audience, and brand vision.

I’m the co-founder of Breezit, a marketplace for the events industry that operates in Europe and the US. We help event service providers from 20 different categories grow their businesses.

We don’t have an in-house design team, so we work with Rekos Agency to focus on various UX/UI web design projects; they're our outsourcing agency.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rekos Agency provides graphic design services and UX/UI solutions using Figma. They design specific features for us to develop for the site.

When we have a new feature, we develop wireframes — black and white sketches of how the whole experience should look — in-house; they help us realize those wireframes visually. They design the elements, translate them into our brand color, and design how the features interact with each other. Currently, they’re helping design a feature called “partner list.”

They’ve also helped us update the design of the marketplace, from the homepage to the product pages. They’ve given input on how to improve our brand and incorporated it into the updated website design.

They’ve also designed various features on our SaaS platform for our past service providers.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about €5,000–€10,000 (approximately $5,400–$10,800 USD). We do one project a month with them, and each costs €1,000–€2,000 (approximately $1,100–$2,200 USD).

Our ongoing partnership began in October 2022.

How did you come to work with Rekos Agency?

A member of our marketing team found Rekos Agency, so we scheduled a call. We did a test run with them and were happy with the results.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our outcomes don’t only depend on design, so it’s difficult to attribute specific results to Rekos Agency’s work. That being said, we’re happy with the quality of their work and the way they work. The partnership is cost-effective for us; since we can rely on them for the design work, we don’t need to hire an in-house design team. 

We had previously used a different agency but switched all our product design work over to Rekos Agency after our trial with them; that’s a success metric for them.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

Rekos Agency is always on time; we’ve never had an issue. They can typically start working on a project the same week or the week after we assign it. Their speed is very important to us as a startup; we need the work done as soon as possible. Other design agencies we’ve worked with delayed starting projects, but we don’t have that issue with Rekos Agency. 

We use Notion internally. We use a channel in our Slack to communicate with the Rekos Agency team, but most of our design documentation is in Figma. Their communication is good and they act on feedback quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like their designs and the outcome of their work, but their approach to that work stands out. Their pricing is fair and reflective of the work they do. We’ve seen some companies charge low rates but then overbill hours; Rekos Agency doesn’t do this. Their hourly rate isn’t the lowest in the market, but the hours they charge for are very fair. The whole relationship works for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing to highlight. We often make small changes to designs, but they respond to feedback very well. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Every company works differently, so I recommend doing a test run; ask them to design a small project and see if the relationship works. Also, when working with any designer, the outcome is always better if you put more into the brief and communicate well with your design partner.

We needed to create a brand for one of our automobile conferences.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rekos Agency did branding for us, including making a website, a logo, and brochures — they were sour designers for all of our creative assets. Regarding the process, we showed them our product, what we wanted, and who our audience was, and based on that, their team came to us with different options for every deliverable.

Regarding the website, they developed it from scratch on WordPress and gave maintenance to it — we went through a collaborative process with suggestions and brainstorming sessions to assess how we wanted it. In addition, they gave us recommendations on what service provider to use for the site’s hosting.
