I’m the COO and co-founder of a UX firm. I am responsible for client relationships and project delivery.

What challenge were you trying to address with Red8 Interactive?

One of our clients wanted to create a new website and replatform their existing site to WordPress. While my company could provide visual and UX design, we needed to outsource development work.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Red8 Interactive provided all technical design and development resources. Red8 Interactive created a series of templates, modules, widgets, and layouts within the WordPress platform. As they moved through the development phase, they updated and added functionalities to our design approaches. Our teams collaborated on frontend development. 

What is the team composition?

We initially worked with James (CEO & Managing Director, Red8 Interactive) and then a lead developer.

How did you come to work with Red8 Interactive?

In a previous engagement, we found Red8 Interactive through a search for WordPress partners. They were local and had good references. As we began this project, Red8 Interactive was the first vendor that came to mind.  

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $50,000–$75,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from January­–June 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website has won two or three different marketing and higher education awards. Although I'm not aware of specific metrics, inquiry form submissions have been at or above what they were previously.

How did Red8 Interactive perform from a project management standpoint?

My company oversaw much of the project management. They appointed a project manager, but my team got more value out of working with their lead developer. We used their project-central website to track tickets and tasks. My team met with James at the beginning of the project and then communicated via email and weekly calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Red8 Interactive’s developers were highly proficient in WordPress. They provided direction on how our design could function or look better from a development standpoint. If we needed to make any changes or updates, the team was incredibly responsive. They adjusted widgets and features.

Based on my experience working with large and reputable development firms, Red8 Interactive stood out for their streamlined and solution-oriented processes.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

Having two project managers between our team and theirs did not seem necessary. However, it comes down to the fact that we asked Red8 Interactive for development help, and that is what they delivered.  

Any advice for potential customers?

Make sure Red8 Interactive is the right fit.
