Red Eagle Tech built us an app that handles our field service management workflow. This was a good decision for our business. We had paper job sheets going walkabout, the office ringing engineers multiple times a day to find out where they were, and invoices going out late. Our engineers have adopted the solution well and it's saved the team time that they can spend on more valuable activities.

Custom field service platform built around how we actually operate. Main features are:

• Scheduling board for the office staff - drag jobs onto engineers, see who's where, what's done and what's outstanding
• Mobile app for the engineers - clock on/off, photos, customer signatures, log materials
• Invoicing when the engineer marks a job done, integrates into Xero
• Customer records - job history, property details etc
• Reports - job profitability, engineer utilisation, average completion times
• Engineers see their own jobs, managers see all jobs
• Migrated our old data from spreadsheets and Microsoft Access
• On-site training and user guides

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our average time from finishing a job to issuing the invoice reduced from 12 days to 3. Our office staff are spending about 40% less time chasing updates. We can see engineer workloads in more detail now and this helps us to make better use of engineer time without needing to recruit additional engineers. Customers have commented that they like the digital sign off and getting their certificates more quickly.

We were happy with the ways of working throughout. The two-weekly demos kept us in the loop with the development. Part way through, we did realise the scheduling needed to work differently than we'd originally thought and they were able to accomodate the changes with no extra cost. They were good at responding between meetings too, usually same day if we dropped them an email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They delivered what was promised, and they also thought about our business needs and suggested ways to meet them. E.g. they delivered a materials alert feature that shows when stock is low for upcoming jobs, which was something they suggested because they could see it would save us headaches. It's caught a few supply issues that we might not have spotted before.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Red Eagle Tech could have done differently?

No complaints - we're very happy with the solution.

Admin time reduced by around 25%, reclaiming around 40 hours per month in total for billable activities. Invoice cycle time decreased, and error rates fell, improving client satisfaction.

Their project management was excellent, with progress transparent and good communication throughout, including bi-weekly progress updates. All milestones were delivered on schedule. They were very responsive, often addressing feedback within a day or two, and proactively suggesting improvements based on our discussions. The process was collaborative and stress-free.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed me most was their genuine focus on our business outcomes rather than just the technology. They took time to understand our e-commerce clients’ quirks and built features that anticipated real-world pain points, like seasonal billing spikes. They blend creative design and robust engineering, delivered by a tight-knit team, and are agile and responsive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Red Eagle Tech could have done differently?

A bit more emphasis on advanced training modules beyond the superuser training - which was solid - could help non-technical users ramp up even faster. But that’s a minor nitpick given how intuitive the app turned out to be.

They're extremely user-focused and helped us gather feedback from the end-users which was valuable in making sure the solution worked as expected in a real-world environment and by the time the solution was ready for production, the end users were already bought into the solution and motivated to start using it right away.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Red Eagle Tech could have done differently?

Only one minor one, they were already very busy and there was a little bit of a waiting time before they can start our project due to commitments with other clients. But it was totally worth the wait.
