I am of the founding members of a local branch of Neighborhood Loans in Columbus, Ohio. Neighborhood Loans is a national direct mortgage lender specializing in residential real estate financing.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rebl Theory?

We needed support with her real strategy for web, social, and print marketing for the launch of our new branch.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I met Tanner while in a previous role. Having seen their previous work, I knew that they could’ve a fit for what we were looking for. After meeting with Tyler and Tanner together, we were pleased with their vision. While they were not the least expensive option, we were won over buy their plan and timeline for execution.

They started with a through discovery call and asked us to complete a questionnaire for our needs. After the discovery and assessing our needs, the provided a package of options that varied in scope, timeline, and budget. Once we found the option that worked best for us, they executed quickly and deliverables were made available ahead of schedule.

Tanner and Tyler worked with us directly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

While we are still early in the post deliverable phase, anecdotal feedback from internal and external stakeholders has been extremely positive.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was smooth. There were a few instances that we requested some off hours conversations, and they were able to accommodate. We communicated via email, call, and text.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Tanner and Tyler while very talented and skilled, were able to put ideas and concepts into a language we could understand and that made sense for our business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We would have liked the budget to come down a bit, but ultimately we are happy with the end result. They did great work, and we hope we get the opportunity to work with them again on future projects.

Rebl Theory designed and developed our website. In terms of the design, the team gave us layout options for us to choose from. They continue to manage and update the site. Additionally, they produce content for our website.

The project started in January 2012 and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Rebl Theory always delivers high-quality work. They’re a great team to work with, and they give us exactly what we ask for.

How did Rebl Theory perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s incredibly easy to work with the Rebl Theory team — their turnaround time is fantastic, and they communicate well through email. Furthermore, they never go over our budget limits.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The results have been great. We also appreciate their good communication skills.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Sea Change Mentoring. We provide professional development to teachers, counselors, and administrators in international schools around the world. We also have an institute that focuses on teachers’ well-being and their emotional and social learning skills.

What challenge were you trying to address with CraftShack?

We wanted to create a website for our new institute that’s very clear, inviting, and human-feeling. We’re using the website to get the word out about services, get more sign-ups for our products, and register interest.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Before the project began, I had some copy written, some pictures I found helpful, and a general idea of the feel I wanted. We also had a really tight deadline to get the website out, but we also needed the site to be high-quality. 

CraftShack built the website in WordPress and hosted it on GoDaddy. The team integrated SurveyMonkey and MailChimp and built an application form that would generate automated responses to users and notifications to our administrators.

What is the team composition?

I just work with Tanner (Lead Strategist & Co-Founder).

How did you come to work with CraftShack?

Tanner had done a website for a colleague with a huge online community. I knew that he knew how to accommodate a membership model — something further down we might be interested in. After an initial website, we had him do a more sophisticated website that serves as our company’s main page. That’s gotten awesome responses, so I knew I could trust him with our institute’s website.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from August until mid-September 2019. The main phase is done, but we still work with CraftShack to make adjustments for our audience and to provide maintenance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We recently had to shut some things down because our industry is on pause for the time being because of COVID-19. That means I don’t have any metrics about the most recent website.

However, the previous website that CraftShack revamped for our whole company had amazing results. The refresh happened at a time when the business was just starting to pick up and word-of-mouth was spreading. The new website — cool, dynamic, and human — reassured our clients that we were legitimate. People even said they had an emotional response to the website; they felt we really cared about them and their kids. That was astonishing to me.

Every once in the while, we get a glitch, but I have no quality concerns. Tanner maintains it and proactive communicates with me about how everything’s going. 

How did CraftShack perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve been working with Tanner for maybe five years. He uses an analytical tool for regular site maintenance. Otherwise, we use email. At first, we had a few delays here or there. Now, over the past year, there’s never been a delay. I can send urgent requests up to 48 hours in advance, and he’s never told me no. Sometimes, we do projects in phases so I don’t have to wait until the final product to see how things are going. The whole collaboration has been good and he’s been reliable. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tanner’s relationship skills stand out. I feel like I’m working with a human being. He seems genuinely excited about the projects we give him, which makes me feel like he’s got my back. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We know how to work together because we’ve been working together for so long. Maybe using a project management tool would help Tanner, but I really can’t think of anything.

Any advice for potential customers?

Have a sense of what you want before you go in. If you don’t, ask him to help you.
