I'm Senior Product Manager at OLX Group. OLX is an online marketplace serving hundreds of millions of people every month across five continents, helping people buy and sell goods and services, get jobs and much more.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rebbix, and what were your goals?

Fixly.pl was launched in May 2017 in Poland. It is based on a reversed classifieds rule, which resembles the Uber model. International competitors are TaskRabbit and Thumbtack. The Polish platform lets you find good quality service providers - anyone from builders to lawyers. As within OLX Group we did not have in-house resources and as a startup we wanted to push things forward, we hired Rebbix to provide end to end support including: Development, Design, DevOps, SEO, and Data.

I did not participate in the selection process.

The scope of Rebbix work included:

1. Product Management - especially at the early stage as there was no in-house Product Manager. Later, Rebbix also proactively took part in shaping our business and product strategy
2. Development including all platforms: desktop, mobile apps
3. UX research and product design
4. SEO
5. Data & product analytics
6. DevOps

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

15 people including: Engineering manager, frontend engineers, backend engineers, iOS and Android engineers, QA automation engineer, QA Specialist, DevOps engineer, Product designers, Data engineers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

General feedback: Throughout the course of our cooperation, Rebbix had been an invaluable asset to our team. They went far beyond the scope of a typical client-contractor relationship, going the extra mile on a regular basis. Not only were they focused on the smooth execution, but they also proactively helped us shape our product strategy. Their “impossible is nothing” approach was incredibly helpful in pushing us forward.

Rebbix team was very flexible and able to adapt quickly to any changes and requirements that arose. They maintained a fantastic pace of work building products from scratch. Thanks to having a multidisciplinary team and unique talents, they were able to address our needs end to end including: Development, Product, Design, DevOps, SEO, and Data. Rebbix team is goal oriented, flexible, highly effective and not afraid of a fast paced environment.

Exemplary deliverables and outcomes:

1. Launching payment solution and bringing a transactional model to fixly.pl
2. New monetization strategy - launching new value added services and combined offering packages, enhancing pay per quote model, introducing dynamic pricing algorithm
3. Launching a dedicated service for Fixly partnership with IKEA
4. Building cross-platform solutions for OLX Group - e.g. single sign on between fixly.pl and olx.pl

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We worked in weekly sprints having weekly meetings with Rebbix EM and designer: Product planning and review, Refinement and UX/Brainstorming sessions. We worked with annual planning and quarterly OKRs following typical OKRs schedule and having meetings with the whole team. On daily basis we used: Slack, Jira, Confluence, GitHub.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Rebbix became a real partner for us - they were very committed to the project and it felt like they were a part of our in-house team. On every occasion, Rebbix proactively supported us in meeting our financial and product goals. They also did not mind challenging us during strategical discussions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The following areas could be still fine-tuned:

1. product and dev documentation - still keeping a good balance between documenting things and pace of development
2. proactive bugs hunting and errors monitoring
