the team was always very kind, understanding and competent. they mostly met the discussed deadlines, occasionally the waiting times were slightly longer – but we always had a great dialouge and our feedback was taken seriously. messages usually get answered really quickly.

The feeling that the team shares our visions and understands our goals. Working with R17 feels much more like working with business partners rather than with a third-part service provider.

• waiting times were a bit too long at one point. however, after we placed this feedback, additional personnel was added to our team and response times and reliability went back to excellent again! 
• quality of the creatives produced by R17: the designs just had too many flaws or sometimes did not match the style of the brand. this issue however did not really bother us, since we were able to produce and deliver our creatives.

We give them a roadmap to understand the product, and then they can develop any content strategy they want. They're helping us with conversion optimization, classical display advertising, Google Ads, and social media marketing. R17 Ventures AG manages our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok. They also design all of our creative assets. 

They test algorithms on our platforms to analyze where we could improve our performance marketing. They manage our advertising budget for all of these activities.

R17 was hired to manage the switch from WooCommerce to Shopify. They where hired to design a new Shop and packaging design. Another goal was to improved UX and doing performance marketing after the going live.

In a pitch R17 convinced us the most. Our desicion was based on knowledge of how to develop, run and improve a Shopify store. In addition it was crucial to be an expert in Performance Marketing to scale-up sales.

At a kick-off meeting we defined objectives, deliverables and milestones. After having approved the mock-ups the team started to design and develop the new shopify site. The performance marketing strategy was set up in parallel.

A project manager and CTO was our main point of contact. There was a team of 1 - 2 designers and 2 developers working in the back ground. In the marketing campaign and performance marketing project we were in contact with 1 team leader and 1 designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We´ve gone from concept to websit, digital presence and building our first 3 games for incluencers in less than 3 months and are now activeley engaging a pipeline of influcers as well as scaling our capabilities. So far we have had 250'000 downloads for our apps.

This is an ongoing and excellent relationship at multiple levels, directionally to keep taking the business forward through the engagement with CEO and CTO, operationally with the team to build, promote and scale games.

We're impressed with their ability to understand our goals and ideas quickly, to commit and dedicate time and effort fully focused on helping us gettin off the ground was impressive. The engagement is open, critical thinking is always put forward in our best interest, and we can discuss, align and move forward really like in a good partnership.

How did you select R17 Ventures AG and what were the deciding factors?

I saw a sponsored post on Instagram from R17 Ventures AG on which they pushed the tagline "Perfomance Marketing". I looked at the Instagram page and then went to the website and saw that I myself was a customer on one of the webshops managed by R17 "Beneva Black". After that I contacted R17 by mail.

Raphael the boss of R17 contacted me by phone and I told him that we have already worked with 2 marketing agencies and we were not satisfied with the performance.

We were promised a lot, we paid a lot and got little in return. He gave me a guide of all the data he needed. Access to the online store, Google Ads and social media. He or someone from his team evaluated the data provided (for free) and then sent me a quote. Since my boss was already 2 times disappointed by marketing agencies, he said we wait and see how the Corona situation develops.

When I canceled Raphael he found it a pity and understood it anyway. The next day he agreed again a phone call with me and suggested that he bears all the costs of the work and the advertising budget itself because he sees a huge potential according to the data he has evaluated the brand and so on.

We then negotiated a fair deal for both parties and after that he sent me a contract for our cooperation. When the contract was signed, he opened a Whatsapp group with the relevant specialists so that important information could be shared with all parties involved. We sent the watches to Cape Town for the product shoots and content production.

Every now and then a new specialist would contact me and tell me what he needed, be it information for the company history and so on and so forth. Everyone is very nice, open uncomplicated and competent. We are businessmen who have 70 years of B2B experience and not so much of marketing.

Therefore, we give the agency a lot of freedom to live out their creativity. We are still in the start phase of the project, but we could already feel the promise perfomance. For us it is easy because we only have to be the infrastructure we already were and they do everything else.

Therefore we do not have to make big process changes, without own risk with higher sales. They are convinced of themselves and know what they are doing. That's what I like the most. It is developing, you can see that your work is bearing fruit, you are accessible. In today's business world, you can be thankful when you meet competent and straightforward people/partners. Here I can give a 10/10.

R17 Ventures assists us with email customization, providing our customers with constant information about our new product launches, price specials, and weekly deals. They help us present our products in a fun and innovative way throughout various social media platforms. They've been especially helpful on Snapchat, where we have to be quite creative and young-minded.

They’re pretty much on top of all the new social media outlets; therefore, they know exactly what young people are asking for. Recently, we’ve added TikTok to our marketing strategy.

We started working together in July 2020, and we’re not planning on changing anything anytime soon.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen a 50% increase in new customers and repeat buyers thanks to the email customization. Before, our marketing strategies were mismanaged by another company, but R17 Ventures has helped Beneva Black to get back on its feet and flourish again within a short period of time. It’s not even been a year, and we’ve already seen a big change in performance and sales, which was our ultimate goal.

Thanks to their help, our e-commerce site is now automatically translated into various languages. We’re quite optimistic about this because it’ll help us expand beyond Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Moreover, our clients will feel more comfortable using our products because they’ll be able to read the description in their own language.

It does help when a future client knows their customer base quite well. Including a proper description of your customer base in the briefing helps R17 Ventures tremendously because they create their strategy based on that information. Therefore, it’s very important to know your customers’ age, gender, and maybe a few interests.

The more information you provide R17 Ventures with, the better and faster the outcome will be. Additionally, the more specific you are with them, the more likely they are to customize and cater the work to your needs.
