We wanted to develop a mobile app and Web portal for our corporate clients. Our goal was to have a user-friendly platform aiming a modern and cutting-edge service to security risk management activities.

We searched online for app-developers particularly in India. After some exchange of views on the matter, we decided to go through with Quytech for this project based on their experience on this field, technical competence, design skills and cost-estimate.

We had a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. We provided their team with wireframes and various designs. Later on, they delivered the Web Panel frame and thereafter first round of the IOS and Android App. They incorporated our numerous feedbacks and delivered the final revision of the web portal and app just as we demanded them.

A project manager was assigned be our main point of contact throughout the project. Additionally, I interacted personally with many of their staff each of whom is an expert in their own field such as IOS, Android and web panel developers and their related team leader in charge of coordination and testing activities. Besides, I was in direct contact with the Key Account Manager for the progress of the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We reached the final phase of the project and I can already say that once the App and Web Portal will be launched, we will have a unique product in the industry thanks to the fact that they successfully handled a very difficult and comprehensive project.

The project manager was easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates on the ongoing project. Most of our feedbacks was through e-mail and online meetings. However, I had also an opportunity to have in-person meetings in their office where I could interact directly with the persons interested in the project. Thanks to the interactive working environment they created, we have made very effective progress.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their technical skills on projects such as a mobile app-web portal development are at a very high level. Although our project was quite challenging in a very different field that they had not experienced before, they've adapted to the project easily and fully incorporated our requests and feedback into their outputs. Another aspect that we find positive about Quytech is the spirit of cooperation and availability of direct interaction for any single issue o matters in the phase of the development.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We were generally very satisfied with the service we received.

We are working to break the barrier for accessibility with a solution that help deaf people and people with hearing problems with the surrounding sounds of everyday life through a system of sensors that detect the sounds, alerting the user to our smartwatch.

As the CTO of the company, I deal with different areas of development starting from the production and engineering of our products, to the software development which include website, web platform, mobile app and other technical services.

For what projects/services did your company hire Quytech, and what were your goals?

As a small and growing company, we were struggling to find a resource to help us with the development of new services for our mobile Apps, especially for Android client. With QuyTech we found the perfect solution in terms of availability and cost.

Our goal was to release the new version of the app by the end of October/early November, having control of the software development. All which was possible due to the fact that QuyTech provide us a Developer full time on our project, fully available to work with our team only.

We posted different post jobs and interviewed different freelancer, but none of these (or just a few) were adapt in terms of cost and availability to our needs. We then change the focus to bigger companies but many of these offer a solution based on a main project objective without letting you control the development process; QuyTech made all this possibile and this led us to chose them vs others.

We started by providing the devices, with all the details regarding communication architecture, mockups, user flows and access to our repositories and project management tools.

We set a weekly sync up with the developer to review the new features implemented (giving and getting feedbacks) and assign new ones; on a daily basis quick communication was present to work smoothly with the team. The whole process was supervised by a project manager assigned by QuyTech.

A project manager and a senior Android developer were assigned from the beginning of the development. In addition to these more operative resources, there were account and business manager. We mostly interact with the developer but the other resources where available at any time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After 3 months of development we were able to publish our mobile App to the Play Store, which made possible the launch of the product on the market the next month (the app is needed to let the device communicate).

We currently don't have specific measurable outcome. The only outcome are the people that previously struggled using the app (prior to these developments), now they are happier with the result.

We had weekly remote meetings with the developer using Google Meet tool, with the possibility to engage with the project manager, financial and business resources, via email or Skype. On a 4 week basis the project manager provide us the timesheet with detailed information on the tasks performed by the developer.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with their flexibility and the availability that provided during the project implementation.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

More status checks of the development process, with feedbacks for both parties.

We began working together in August 2021 and our engagement is ongoing.

We’re about halfway through the project, and the deliverables have been excellent so far. 

How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

We spoke a few times a week with Quytech as we moved forward in the project. There was usually more back and forth during the design phase, which extended the timeline. We utilize WhatsApp for daily communication and share deliverables and progress through Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Projects like ours are always complex, and there are frequent challenges with the development. Quytech can transition quickly and perform precisely how the client wants them to — they can quickly move an entire project in the right direction once they’re on board. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think Quytech’s quality of work could’ve been better at the beginning of our engagement, but they rectified that issue quickly. It would also be nice to have a larger pool of resources to aid in blockchain development. However, this is an industry challenge because so many projects like ours are happening right now. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d advise clients to confirm the project timelines and resource allocation at an early stage of the engagement. We didn’t, and it made the project a little confusing because we weren’t sure who was working on the project at a given time; that confusion hindered our communication.

Whilst delivery has always been in a timely fashion, more concise sharing of delivery dates can aid planning.

Since I was in highschool, I had always wanted to create my own mobile gaming app. I hired Quytech to bring my ideas to life through their expertise in app development. I wanted a game that was unique yet familiar to an aduience.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I did a simple Google search looking for companies and as I stumbled upon Quytech's website and took a look at their portfolio of work, I decided to inquire about possibly working with them. They specifically had an endless runner game that in their portfolio and so I felt like they were perfect for my project.

My game is being created using the Unity engine. The first step was getting an outline of my project and what I wanted to accomplish overall. Next, work was started on the User Interface of my game. Color scheme was chosen as well as overall design. I had to describe and create a refrence for what I wanted different parts of the UI to look like. Quytech captured my ideas wonderfully and far exceeded my expectations.

Next was developing the characters. Clothing, ethnicity, hair type and color as well as names were chosen. After this design of the game environment took place. I provided references from other games that I liked and they were Abel to create an environment that was unique to my game but maintained the essence of my references which I loved. After I settled on all props for the game as well as character abilites, it was time for testing. We are currently in the testing phase and everything is going great. We will be implementing additional features soon.

Turn around time for work is exceptional. The team at Quytech works very swiftly. My project is a lengthy one because it's turning into a larger project than anticipated and features have been added but the team is very flexible and wonderful. They will work with you financially. Very understanding and have great communication. I don't want to give too much away about my project as it's still being developed but we have made very significant progress and I hope to launch very soon.

We utilize Basecamp to organize the progression of the project and Skype for quick communication. I love that this team uses both tools because it creates balance. They are very accessible and you can expect response times within a few hours, if not instantly if you have questions or need to make comments about you project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their flexibility. They were able to pivot effortlessly when I needed to make minor and major changes to the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes, not often, notes made about your project can be misconstrued without getting clarification first before doing the work. Despite this, the team is a solid 10 and I would recommend anyone especially new app creators to work with them!

Our original timeline was pushed back because there were changes in scope. I’d give them a seven out of 10 for project management.

The team took extra steps to figure out my requirements. They do a good job of analyzing the project, asking questions, and accommodating my needs.

Aside from our extended timeline, they’re great to work with.

My advice is to do a lot of documentation upfront. A clear requirements document will make it clear what you want to accomplish; it’ll also result in better quality.

Quytech built an app based on my coloring book for Android and iOS devices. Their team implemented music and images from my coloring book into the platform. They also developed paint features. Right now, they’re managing the testing phase.

In total, I work with about six people from Quytech. Abhilash (Business Development Manager) has guided me through the process. I’ve recently started speaking with Nishant (Project Manager) too.

I searched online and eventually found Quytech. I interviewed many companies but liked how Quytech communicated with me. I felt that their team was a good fit, so I went ahead and started the process with them.

They created a simple and straightforward app. Their team took exactly what I had in my mind and translated it into a digital platform. A couple of days ago, I played with it and loved it.

How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

Quytech made the project feasible by breaking it down into phases, including the payments. During certain phases, they complete specific tasks. Once their team completes a task, they send it to me and then move on to the next one. I’m never left in the dark.

We communicate through Basecamp and communication’s clear. I’m able to give them feedback. If they need anything from me, they let me know.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I honestly enjoy the relationship. If I have any questions, I can reach out to their team, which I love. Even though there’s a time difference, they immediately respond.

There have been a few areas we asked them to revise and update, but overall, it’s been very good. A majority of the work right now is bug fixes.

Their team is very responsive. I like the weekly check-ins we have. We use Basecamp.

Throughout the engagement, they’ve been extremely responsive to my requests. It’s always been two days or less.

There is a time zone difference, which they can’t control, but it is tough at times.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Quytech designed and developed a mobile app that’s not for us. We’re essentially an intermediary.

Their team built the mobile app for fishermen in Caribbean countries to report their daily landings. The platform directly transmits that information to government agencies. The app’s for iOS and Android. Their team developed the app, but it still needs to be migrated to the servers in the Caribbean.

What is the team composition?

I normally communicate with two people from Quytech. However, I’ve seen about 5–6 people from Quytech looped into our emails.

How did you come to work with Quytech?

We asked for quotes from multiple companies and were in a rush to start the project. Quytech was a good compromise between cost and quality of service.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around £10,000 pounds (approximately $13,000 USD) on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in March 2019, and it hasn’t finished yet.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re happy with Quytech. Their team modified the platform many times, making changes anytime we changed our minds. We were happy with the final outcome.

How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team has good project management skills. We communicate by email, and they call us via WhatsApp. Their team gives us an update on the project every week. They have teams in the UK and India. No matter the time, they’re available to us.

We also organize meetings between the different teams. For example, I’m not a developer, so I don’t know how to migrate the platform to the Caribbean. We connected them with the team in the Caribbean to plan the migration. Their team’s patient with our lack of technical expertise.

Their team’s available at any time and willing to modify the app. They also provide ideas to improve the product.

I’m the CEO of Evolve Basketball. We’re a sports company that trains athletes, sells merchandise, and now does digital sessions.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Quytech?

We needed Quytech to help us enhance our app so that we could support virtual training experiences.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Since we already had an existing app from 2016, Quytech used it as a base to create a new solution that was more inclined to today’s world. Many things have changed with COVID-19, so they needed to make the experience more user-friendly for our athletes to continue to train.

There was also an AI component that allowed us to track user behavior. Our athletes could access a large library of video content, so we wanted to be able to see which videos got the most clicks and tailor our suggested content based on the athlete’s watching history.

The app isn’t 100% done, but that’s not their fault. We added more things once they’d finished the project, so we’re working on that, now.

What is the team composition? 

There were six people, including a graphic designer, UI designer, UX designer, Android/iOS tester, team lead, and project manager. 

How did you come to work with Quytech?

I found about 10 companies while searching online, including Quytech, and reached out for a PDF of their work. I liked the more modern style that they had, and they were cost-effective compared to the other companies I considered. It just made sense to go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve paid about $15,000. The full project will cost $33,000, but they let us pay once they’ve completed a milestone, which is great. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in June 2020 and are still working on a few more things.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Anyone can make a good-looking app, but it’s the effectiveness of the process that matters most. As we’re going through development, I look at both how quickly they reach our milestones and the quality of the product itself. They generally get things done right the first time without many bugs. 

How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything is tracked in Basecamp, which makes it easy to coordinate between the time zones. I’m based in Atlanta, so I know that they’ll respond to any of my questions within 5–10 minutes during my evenings into my morning. 

Beyond that, we do weekly calls on Google Hangout where they share their screen. That makes it easier for us to understand what they’re talking about rather than going back and forth over email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s their responsiveness. I’d worked with another team before, and we would manage everything over email. The problem was, once a thread reaches 10 responses, it became harder to find anything. Guytech has a good setup with Basecamp and Google Hangouts, which makes for a more effective process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s hard to say because they haven’t completed the project yet, but it’s been pretty straightforward so far. The only thing I’d say is there is a bit of a language barrier, so we have to be very specific with what we’re saying and avoid American slang. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do more Google Hangouts rather than just relying on email and Basecamp. It’s important to physically explain something through as many examples as possible. That helps them gain a better sense of what you’re looking for.
