    We are an imaging software provider. Our main focus is to provide augmented reality and other technologies to plastic surgeons to show patients post-surgical results. Our solutions allow surgeons to have a visual conversation during consultations. During simulations, the patient wears a band with a target. The target syncs with the application and superimposes a simulated model over the patient's body. I'm the director of operations and sales. I'm in charge of most of our technology.

    We needed help expanding our offerings and adding functionality.

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    We've presented some revolutionary ideas to them. They deliver every time we ask them to add a feature or a component. They go beyond our original requests, and act as a technical advisory body. The app started as a mobile application for iPad. With their help, we converted that tablet application onto computers. They built a web app for us, as well as an Android and iPhone platform for a sister app we provide.

    We communicate with eight to ten team members. They have resources with various specialties. When we request something new, they deliver. They do a lot of research and development with us as well.

    Our CEO found them. I'm not sure of his process, but we did consider five or six organizations. We felt most comfortable with Quytech, specifically with our main point of contact there.

    The project began in September 2017, and they delivered initial versions within six to eight weeks. Our collaboration is ongoing.

    They've delivered on every requirement. We've asked them to tackle difficult tasks, but there is nothing they can't do. We heavily rely on them as a technical advisor, and they keep our expectations realistic. Users are very satisfied with the changes. The growth from the alpha versions to today is really impressive.

    How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

    They're fantastic project managers. Depending on the project and the timeline, we have normal weekly meetings. We also get updates from them based on milestones. At peak, we speak at least once a day. They're very responsive.

    We trust them. Some of our ideas feel crazy, but they deliver on even our wildest requests. The experience is favorable and positive, especially compared to other organizations we’ve worked with. They're the best agency we've found, and our relationship with them is longer than with any other company.

    I can't think of anything they could do to improve. They coordinate with us, and attend electronic meetings at any time of the day, even early in the morning or late at night in their time zone.

They’re able to easily understand what needs to be done, and in areas where there’s something new, they come up with solutions.

    There was an iOS developer, a project manager, and a delivering manager.

    They had better tech quality than other vendors that we looked at.

    We’ve only had one or two calls saying that something isn’t working with the app. Overall, we’ve had good feedback on their work.

    Working with them is very smooth, and we’ve had no issues. Communication is strong and they respond immediately. We worked in an agile process and had regular sprint planning and review, as well as daily scrum meetings where we reviewed who needs to do what. They’re proactive and use their own internal project management tool that we have access to, so we gave them the freedom on what needs to be done. We don’t micromanage.

    We selected Quytech through a bidding process. This involved reaching out to a couple of vendors and assessing their technical capabilities as well as their commercial quote. Quytech had the best technical and commercial scores, so they won out.

    We shared the scope of work (SOW), which included the detailed functionalities, technical specifications, acceptance criteria, and the timeline requirement. They created the POC based on that.

    I needed to develop an app. I have some creative resources that can provide support, but they don’t have the technical skills to actually build the solution.

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    We’ve worked with Quytech on multiple app development projects. Each of them varies in scope, depending on the number of moving pieces. Some projects require extensive design work while others only need a basic frame for the app and a few API connections.

    For one specific initiative, Quytech helped us integrate a third-party chat provider called PubNub to facilitate in-app group chats. The functionality allows users to create groups and manage specific chatrooms. They used a React Native framework to build iOS and Android versions. We’re currently working on a project, but we’ve taken a small break. I needed to take time off for a scheduled surgery, but we plan to pick up again soon.

    I worked with Siddharth (Director Services Division, Quytech) to set up our engagement. For the rest of the work, they assigned a backend developer, two frontend developers, and two QA resources.

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    Having worked with several offshore companies, I think Quytech is a top-notch agency. We’ve had a great experience with them so far. They move very quickly, completing a sizeable amount of work each week. They’re also very good about checking their work. They implemented QA testing from the start. Their deliveries are consistently high-quality, which has been great for our business. We only fell behind on a few occasions because specific challenges required more research.

    How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

    Overall, they’re excellent. We have daily stand-up meetings and additional scheduled calls, and the Quytech team always comes prepared. They’re prompt, timely, and communicative. We use Skype and a few other project management tools to track our progress. They’re efficient across all channels.

    Siddharth is exceptional. Working with them has been a real pleasure. His technical and leadership skills improve his entire team’s performance. Quytech is a patient and considerate group. I’m very pleased with our experience so far.

Our platform supports and connects 1.2 million charities with a wide range of restaurants. Quytech also integrated the platform with gamification elements to engage users further. For example, karma points are awarded to users based on the number of calories saved via monetary donations.

    They assigned multiple developers and a project manager to our account. I also speak with the company’s owner on occasion.

    They were recommended to us by a trusted source, so I didn’t have to shop around a lot. They presented an excellent portfolio and offered us a reasonable hourly rate. Hiring them was an easy decision.

    Quytech’s development efforts have solved a lot of the platform’s low-performance issues. Their hard work and transparent approach alleviates a lot of the anxiety that comes along with building a new platform.

    They’re capable of organizing and completing intricate development tasks. We communicate via email, WhatsApp, and Slack. The project manager tracks the hours spent by the developers, so we always know exactly what’s being done.

    Their turnaround time is phenomenal. They keep the project moving at a rapid pace and frequently offer new deliverables for feedback.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    I’d like to see them expand their team so they can offer full QA services and product testing. However, the vast majority of their tasks were delivered to us in stable condition.

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    I developed the idea for a mobile calendar app that would integrate business, social, and personal events in one place, and enable users to share or search for events. I went to Quytech with the idea and they first developed wireframe sketches so that we could finalize the interface design. After approving that, they began to develop a prototype with basic functionalities and design. Through a prototype website and platform they used, I was able to interact with the app and determine if it met all of the requirements. We are currently in the development stage. They are developing a beta version of the app for iOS mobile devices, which users will download, test for bugs, and provide in-depth feedback.

    What is the team composition?

    They have a team of 4–5 individuals. We also communicate with a dedicated sales consultant on an almost daily basis.

    How did you come to work with Quytech?

    I was doing online research for developers who were reasonably priced with a good quality of work. Quytech stood out because they had worked on mobile apps that were similar to what I wanted, they were dynamic and responsive, and their portfolio was full of high-quality content that was market viable.

    How much have you invested with them?

    We’ve spent $20,000–$30,000. Instead of one bulk payment, we pay them dependent on our approval of each milestone.

    What is the status of this engagement?

    We began working together in March 2018, and the work is still ongoing. We’ve finished the wireframes and prototype, and are currently in the development stage.

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    Especially since we are still in the development stages of the project, the measure of success is how closely the prototype has met our requirements. I’m very happy with how the app looks and its functionality. We’ve received mostly positive feedback from the people that have interacted with the prototype. Of course, at this stage, everyone has different expectations and opinions, but I’m satisfied with what we have.

    How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

    They were able to keep me on track and make sure that we stuck to the project deadlines and milestones. We receive almost daily progress updates through WhatsApp and have weekly phone calls to discuss issues or upcoming milestones. They also set up a portal so that we could interact with, and provide feedback on, the prototype.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    They are very patient with their clients and are able to see any issues or frustrations as learning opportunities. I am very detail oriented, so there were many times during the prototyping stage where I had very specific directions, but they handled all of my feedback well and delivered the results that I needed. It’s difficult to find developers as dedicated as they are to delivering a perfect product. Most developers will give customers an exact number of samples, and if those don’t match the requirements, it’s more time and money. Quytech quickly amended anything that didn’t meet my expectations.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    I had to give them a lot of guidance and feedback during the project. I don’t know if that was a lack of communication at the beginning of the project, or if we were just approaching it from different points of view (entrepreneur versus developer). If it did stem from different points of view, it would have been beneficial for them to explain whether or not something was feasible as I was explaining my vision to them, or as early as possible.

    My advice would be to have all of the initial planning and design done before engaging Quytech. Having a general idea for their team to develop from will help the project’s efficiency.

They developed a project plan and began developing the mobile app for both iOS and Android mobile devices. Quytech did all of the designing, developing, and testing.

    Throughout the project, our idea shifted a few times, from slight pivots to major changes, and they were definitely flexible and patient. We’re currently finalizing the latest features and preparing for launch within a few months.

    What is the team composition?

    During our initial conversations, we interacted directly with a person on their client relations team to develop our idea. Once we were ready to move forward, we worked with a project manager. He has been our main point of contact, but we understand that he has a team of 4–6 people working behind him (a UX designer, a design manager, two Android developers, and two iOS developers).

    How did you come to work with Quytech?

    We discovered Quytech through online research for development companies. We interviewed four companies in total from all around the globe but decided on Quytech because they gave us a reasonable estimate and were the most willing to work with us. As a company that was new to the business, we wanted a partner that would be patient with us as we caught up with some of the technical information.

    Our expected spend is around $25,000.

    Development began around May 2018. We are currently nearing completion, with final testing and plans for launch underway.

    We haven’t launched the app yet, so we don’t have statistical feedback. However, Quytech has delivered a functioning product that is within our scope of work at a fair price, and we are incredibly pleased.

    How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

    They are customer service-oriented and were helpful every step of the way. Project management is definitely one of their strengths. We had conference calls through Skype on a weekly basis or more.

    They're especially good at setting realistic expectations on the timeline. We’re actually a couple of months early with this project. In spite of some last minute changes that we made, the project is going exactly as it was explained to us from the beginning.

    Skype occasionally gave us problems. Because we are all in different places around the globe, there was some frustration with the conference call function, so we needed a better solution.

    Also, since this was my first time in the development field, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was surprised by how many design iterations we had to go through. I would suggest strengthening their design team. That being said, they were patient and open to working with us until we found something that everyone liked.

    What challenge were you trying to address with Quytech?

    We needed an integrated solution for mapping our entire sales and service department. We needed a system that would track batteries’ lifecycle from the manufacturer, to our warehouse, to dealers, and to the end consumer. When batteries are sent in for servicing, we have more information about them.

    We also wanted to track sales. We needed mobile apps for field salespeople who couldn’t access desktop or laptop computers. We wanted to track where each salesperson was working, which partner locations they had visited, and which orders they had received. Those orders would be sent to our system and integrated into our ERP.

    SOLUTION

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    We don’t have a fixed process, so we’ve made some changes to the scope. We needed a technical company that could adjust the application. Quytech has been highly capable of this.

    Our organization uses Tally ERP. Building any application or platform on this system is very complicated. We also required integrations with wireless and mobile applications. They have done it seamlessly.

    Most of our users only use the Android application, but the management section was also built on iOS.

    What is the team composition?

    We have been working with two dedicated project managers on their side. I don’t know exactly how many resources they used for our project.

    There are 6-8 people working on our project, but we haven’t tracked them closely. They set a deadline.

    How did you come to work with Quytech?

    We looked for a vendor that had worked on applications like the one we wanted to build. Quytech showed us a demo of a similar application they had built for another large Indian company. The scope of that work was very similar to ours. I contacted 3-4 of their clients, who were very satisfied.

    Quytech was formed only six years ago, so they could still be considered a startup. They were eager to work with us. Our management wanted to give the project to a younger company that could focus more on our work.

    We have invested 40-50 lakh Indian rupees ($60,000–$75,000 USD).

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    We have not tracked metrics for the platform, but we have seen an improvement in the performance of our sales and marketing team. Our service operations are smoother. We currently provide services directly to end-users; in the past, we could only offer support through channel partners. Users can contact us directly through the application. Our entire service cycle can be managed through the application.

    We haven’t tracked the application’s download count because is meant for our sales force. We had some initial issues because too many people were using the application at once. They changed the server configuration to resolve the issue.

    How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

    I would give them an 8.5/10. Their project managers and tech team visit our office to resolve issues.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    They supported us very well whenever we faced a challenge. When we gave them a change request, they were willing to fulfill it without any hesitations. Few software companies will actually agree to make any changes.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    They need to improve their deadline estimations.

    Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

    I would recommend their team for any kind of work, especially mobility and app-based solutions. Quytech is very good at understanding different processes and designing implementations. Clients in the manufacturing sector can use their services for any application.
