    We’re an early age startup based in the UK looking to develop an AI/ML based Mobile Application for the healthcare industry. For this purpose we were shortlisting vendors and eventually ended up hiring Quytech based on their skills, understanding, knowledge of the domain and online reviews.

    Our mission is to help physicians in early detection of cancer by combining the power computation algorithms, Arti&cial intelligence and machine learning. The platform will help not only to predict cancer but also help in better and predictive diagnosis.

    SOLUTION

    How did you select this vendor?

    First, we did a Google search and found the company as one of the top developers in Clutch. We then had multiple rounds of discussion and project analysis with their team to understand technical abilities and familiarity with the project specifications. Once we were 100% sure of their skills, technical know-how, project understanding, commercial offer, client referrals and online reputation decided to give them a go and awarded the project.

    Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

    In order to test the market and products acceptability, we wanted to do a quick PoC of our core engine. We went with the thought, this would provide us an opportunity to check the feasibility of the technology and reduce heavy upfront investments. The user persona we are focusing on are physicians. As mentioned above the primary use case of the project is to help them in cancer detection (Breast Cancer) and predictive diagnosis.

    Disclosing not much in detail, we have used machine learning/AI, Image processing to deliver the solution. So, the PoC entails taking the image, then using computer vision the system performs image analysis. Once the process is complete, using our custom machine learning models and medical data, we deliver the final output. The PoC will be primarily available as an iPad app with the API’s being developed in Python.

    What was the team composition?

    They have allocated one senior project coordinator for regular communication. The core tech team comprised of a solution architect, AI engineers, Python Developers, iOS Developers, Testers and PM.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

    Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

    We have just finished development of the core engine (PoC) and are now doing internal testing before rolling it out to potential user groups for more elaborated testing.

    How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

    We had a very smooth collaboration. First we have given them a detailed documentation of the project scope, functionality requirements and UI/UX. Based on the same they created the project plan, test cases.

    As soon as we approved both, they started the development and completed the project on time and within budget. In between, we had weekly calls, they submitted weekly status reports and periodic updates. Communication was the best part.

    The said vendor was selected after getting a rigorous process of discussion with various vendors, making them understand the requirements and getting details of the time for development as it was our primary criteria since the conference was very near, the cost details were asked for and the readiness to support with pushing important notifications at the time of the 3-day event. The biggest plus point we found with this vendor was their quick response and readiness to do anything and everything to become our partner in achieving the goal. Additionally, the price point given from their end was also very competitive.

    A mobile app was developed by the Vendor as per our requirements which was used in providing all the kinds of details about the event and push the important real-time notifications during the event for informing the users to reach the various venues in time, etc.

    Their team comprised of a Project Manager who understood the details from us, got them incorporated in the form of a mobile app as per our requirements. Got them tested at their end before showcasing the result to us. I would like to appreciate the fact that we also asked lot of changes basis the understandings that we got during the course of the app development but the Quy Tech Team never said no to any of our changing requirements and building up the changes accordingly in time.

    We researched online as well as got some references. We had a certain criteria to select a vendor. We had an understanding that you need quality people to create a quality product.

    The project involved an Android app, and iOS app and a backend panel to manage the listing. There were multiple grocery items listed, with prices. Each item also had reviews and ratings. This is an inventory led model as stock is maintained for each item. The ordered items are supplied by a network of delivery agent from the closest warehouse. The user can track the items ordered and also pay online while ordering.

    The team had Android, iPhone and backend developers, long with UI designer, tester and one Project Manager. I guess there were 4-5 people involved.

    Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

    The App is still under development. But the design and UX is excellent. We have received great reviews from our channel partners and investors. We have received multiple releases from the vendor with new features added each time. The project is going as per plan.

    The vendor has been using tools like Basecamp and Jira to track the project and update us about the status. We get daily and weekly reports on the work done and the status of the project.

    I think their domain knowledge is the key asset that is important. Since, it was our first time when we got a software developed, it was important that we get a vendor who can guide us. Quytech not only guide us but also helped us in avoiding pitfalls and making wrong decisions.

    I’m the president of a wine company that produces wine in California, Chile, and Argentina.

    What challenge were you trying to address with Quytech?

    They create augmented reality (AR) labels for our wines, which helps us with marketing. This unique approach allows consumers to enjoy a bottle of wine while also having fun with the bottle.

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    The first project was a 30–35-second story told in poetry. We created a poem that involved two voices, which they translated into a story that was told through AR. We have more projects that we want to do with them in the future. The AR experience was accessed with a mobile app that was used to scan the label of the bottle.

    I worked with the project manager and the salesperson that I met.

    How did you come to work with Quytech?

    I did an online search. After finding a few companies, I talked to them. Quytech was the most honest and attentive vendor I found.     The fact that they didn't provide the final round of code hurt our business. We were expecting to launch this solution in December 2019. We're left with code that doesn't work properly and it has only 3 of the required 8 URLs that we provided for scraping.

    How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

    They had the proper individuals involved at the beginning of the project. They showed plenty of enthusiasm and excitement. We received examples of their progress and responded with further instructions and corrections. When they ran into a snag with the scraping of the sites we provided they slowed down responding to us. And finally, they stopped responding completely. Are they out of business?

    Their profile and client base.

    Reciprocation and receiving an adequate response. We've left many messages in their Basecamp with no reply. They accepted our terms and we signed an agreement. They failed to complete their end of our agreement. This is not acceptable This is why I ask if they're still in business.

    We are an imaging software provider. Our main focus is to provide augmented reality and other technologies to plastic surgeons to show patients post-surgical results. Our solutions allow surgeons to have a visual conversation during consultations. During simulations, the patient wears a band with a target. The target syncs with the application and superimposes a simulated model over the patient's body. I'm the director of operations and sales. I'm in charge of most of our technology.

    We needed help expanding our offerings and adding functionality.

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    We've presented some revolutionary ideas to them. They deliver every time we ask them to add a feature or a component. They go beyond our original requests, and act as a technical advisory body. The app started as a mobile application for iPad. With their help, we converted that tablet application onto computers. They built a web app for us, as well as an Android and iPhone platform for a sister app we provide.

    We communicate with eight to ten team members. They have resources with various specialties. When we request something new, they deliver. They do a lot of research and development with us as well.

    Our CEO found them. I'm not sure of his process, but we did consider five or six organizations. We felt most comfortable with Quytech, specifically with our main point of contact there.

    The project began in September 2017, and they delivered initial versions within six to eight weeks. Our collaboration is ongoing.

    They've delivered on every requirement. We've asked them to tackle difficult tasks, but there is nothing they can't do. We heavily rely on them as a technical advisor, and they keep our expectations realistic. Users are very satisfied with the changes. The growth from the alpha versions to today is really impressive.

    How did Quytech perform from a project management standpoint?

    They're fantastic project managers. Depending on the project and the timeline, we have normal weekly meetings. We also get updates from them based on milestones. At peak, we speak at least once a day. They're very responsive.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    We trust them. Some of our ideas feel crazy, but they deliver on even our wildest requests. The experience is favorable and positive, especially compared to other organizations we’ve worked with. They're the best agency we've found, and our relationship with them is longer than with any other company.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    I can't think of anything they could do to improve. They coordinate with us, and attend electronic meetings at any time of the day, even early in the morning or late at night in their time zone.

    Lean on them. This kind of relationship comes with unknown factors, but they make the process smooth and comfortable.

We worked in an agile process and had regular sprint planning and review, as well as daily scrum meetings where we reviewed who needs to do what. They’re proactive and use their own internal project management tool that we have access to, so we gave them the freedom on what needs to be done. We don’t micromanage.
