Automated tests were built that covered the core product scenarios that were important to maintain high reliability on. A platform is provided to monitor and run tests as needed. QA Wolf delivers a comprehensive testing solution for BrewLogix that encompasses the entire lifecycle of our applications. They have built extensive test suites for our five standalone applications, seamlessly integrated into our CI/CD pipeline. As we consolidated three of those applications into a unified platform, QA Wolf adapted their test cases to maintain thorough coverage across both existing and new functionality.

On an ongoing basis, they execute the full regression test suite on a regular cadence, providing detailed reporting and proactive communication of any issues uncovered. Their team collaborates closely with ours to continually optimize the testing strategy, prioritize test scenarios based on risk and impact, and ensure the test suite evolves in lockstep with application changes.

When failures occur, QA Wolf delivers timely reports with all the artifacts needed for efficient debugging and resolution. Flaky tests are proactively identified and remediated to maintain a high signal-to-noise ratio. This diligent test maintenance, combined with expert guidance on testing best practices, enables us to move rapidly without sacrificing quality.

In summary, QA Wolf serves as a trusted partner to our development team, providing the testing expertise, execution, and ongoing optimization needed to deliver reliable software at the pace our business demands.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Rapid test coverage ramp-up:  This allowed us to quickly establish a strong foundation of test coverage across our key user flows and functionality. Achieving this level of automated testing in such a short timeframe would have been challenging for our internal team given competing priorities.
• Increased test coverage: Over the course of our engagement, QA Wolf has helped us achieve and maintain test coverage over the majority of our applications, giving us confidence in the quality of each release and allowing us to move faster without increased risk.
• Improved developer productivity: By offloading the majority of manual testing and test maintenance to QA Wolf, our developers are able to focus more of their time and effort on feature work and innovation. We've seen a measurable increase in developer throughput and a decrease in time spent on testing and bug fixing.
• Faster feedback loops: With the comprehensive test suites QA Wolf has built, we are able to get rapid feedback on the quality of each code change. Failures are identified and reported back to our team quickly, often within minutes of a pull request being opened. This fast feedback enables us to catch and resolve issues early before they make it into production.

Time: Given the seemingly infinite possiblities our available options provide, one change could and has inadvertently affected quality of our exports. Through QA Wolf's automated tests, when a change is introduced, their existing workflows catch issues manual testing will miss. Our 12+ hour workdays no longer include testing on our own. 

Anxiety: QA Wolf has allowed us to be free to comfortably iterate through our application without fear of the unexpected impact our changes could introduce. This kept us up at night. Now it's only doom scrolling that keeps us up.

We are on a 100 test budget but they are quick to let us know when we're close to our max to deprecate older tests to accommodate new requests. QA Wolf came in to help us build out our E2E suite and maintain the tests so the team could focus on building business logic without the distraction of dealing with flaky tests and false flags. We started with a pilot, where QA Wolf were extremely helpful in identifying areas where tests could be applied, and were able to hit their advertised "80% test coverage in 4 months" target. 

We immediately saw the value in having the wolf pack as part of our SDLC and expanded our test suite and continue to grow it to this day.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The first metric of success was that the 80% in 4 months goal was hit on time. As part of the initial suite of tests we were able to automate the vast majority of what was a manual test suite, which allowed our internal team to dedicate that time back to supporting customers and providing value. The QA Wolf test suite has caught a good number of bugs before they hit production, and the team's confidence in releases has increased significantly since we brought them on board.

The team had during the pilot phase the team had a well oiled, battle tested scope of work and the stuck to the schedule religiously. The followed up where necessary and made sure that we were always kept abreast of where the team were at. Since we've passed out of the pilot phase the team have remained extremely proactive, ensuring that any new coverage requests are quickly actioned and any test failures are triaged as soon as possible.

The thing I've been most impressed by with QA Wolf is their attitude and proactivity. Any company can and should hit their promised targets, but the way QA Wolf goes above and beyond to do it in a positive way is amazing. Their team sit in a shared slack channel and their response times are always within a few minutes. 

They are always happy to help, and in places where they may not understand the platform, they are keen to learn and share their learnings among the team. There have been many companies I've worked with with good customer service, but QA Wolf are a rare case of being truly great.

There's not much I would change about QA Wolf, they are a joy to work with. I would love to see them expand their capabilities to cover even more testing areas (eg. mobile testing).
