PROJECT OVERVIEW

The aim of this phase is to revamp the database structure by reviewing the provide documentation and gaining an understanding of the current business processes and features. By the end of this phase, we will have developed an architectural diagram and a new ERD database diagram which will be used in the phases after this.

OBJECTIVES:

• Analyse the current database documentation.
• Understand the current business cycle and features.
• Redesign the database structure for improved performance and scalability.
• Develop a comprehensive architecture diagram.
• Create a new ERD database diagram.

The scope was to enable our client, a big agri-tech in the Egyptian market to deal with one of its key stakeholders. It was focused on creating a 360 view of all on going transactions. As part of this scope, a mobile application was developed to help this stakeholder do his transactions seamlessly. PS Solutions has helped us delivering this part including the mobile app development and the integration with Salesforce.

To advise us on a suitable software solution for our company that would take our operations to the next level. This next level comprised of managing accounting and finances, optimizing our internal flow processes and delivering invaluable reports on our activities in a manner that allows us to self improve.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had shortlisted 4 possible solutions. 2 of which were offered by locally developed software solutions. Although Odoo is a multinational solution, it had plenty of room for customization at the level that we required; along with the excellent service options, modular implementation etc etc. further PS SOLUTIONS exhibited their enthusiasm and confidence in setting up the system for us.

In depth meetings with PS SOLUTIONS, made them understand our business and how we required information to be organized. We discussed several alternatives that would be suitable for our requirements. Once we decided our choice and finalized our deal with PSS, they were quick to implement and roll out what we needed. Some technical aspects that they were not familiar with, they duly researched/inquired and addressed them.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

One of the partners played a lead role working closely with us and implementing while another partner used drop in time and again for reassurances. I’m not aware how many members they had working at their back end.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The management of our organization has got streamlined, a lot of time saved generating reports and closing monthly tax files. Transparency throughout departments as needed.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their project management was very effective. Most of our queries were dealt with within the work day. If they had to be researched by PSS, they completed it within 48-72 hours.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Murtaza and his team at PS Solutions understood our process very well - and in turn developed a mobile sales app that has helped us in cutting down on administrative tasks, so the sales force can focus on their main objectives, hence closing more deals.

It has improved communication between the sales team and the back office - and has aligned everyone on the same page to help land a sale. This was great for internal collaboration and creates a seamless experience for new customers.

The app has also helped track productivity and efficiency and has removed a lot of the guesswork out of how productive the team is, thanks to all the data it collects. Setting standard benchmarks in a sales tracking app helps in evaluating and optimizing performances, without manually tracking each salesperson’s work.

Even being able to see tasks and deadlines can go a long way in helping you and your team stay organized. We highly recommend them as business partners to anyone wanting to developing and optimizing their sales force.

I’m the director of Monginis Bakery, an industrial bakery company in Egypt with 150 locations.

What challenge were you trying to address with PS Solutions?

We have our own auditing system in place for our outlets, but the process was manual. We need support in digitalizing the process.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

PS Solutions has performed a lot of software development throughout the project. They applied geotagging capabilities and a dashboard that updates information in real-time.

The team is also responsible for the design aspect. There has been a lot of customization with API plugins to allow for compatibility with our existing software and ERP system. 

As we’re continuously developing the product, PS Solutions supports with all improvements and modifications.

We work with two main people from the team.

We compiled a shortlist of companies and found PS Solutions was able to address our requirements at a more affordable rate than competitors. They understood our business processes and were able to go into details of our operation and suggest solutions.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The software is very user-friendly, with strong UX/UI components. The team members are talented and efficient, and they have strong insights into our business operations. 

PS Solutions constantly questions the status quo, a practice we find extremely valuable. Rather than just blindly following directions, they push back against the reasons behind them and give feedback on the value they think a proposed feature might bring to the software. 

Because of PS Solutions’ insights, we receive finer outputs on our product. They’ve made our operations more efficient and effective.

How did PS Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We experienced a delay that lasted about two or three months. However, the strength of the platform compensated for the loss of time. It was worth the wait.

What did you find most impressive about them?

PS Solutions’ dedication to understanding our business is unique, especially paired with their development background. 

Further, the team is very hands-on. They execute every task on their own.

We also appreciated that they’re fluent in both the local language and English.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Though the user interface is strong, it took several phases and we would’ve preferred it was stronger earlier. 

Also, they could benefit from adding more graphic designers to their team. Their architecture is strong, but better graphics could help them sell their product more efficiently.
