The project involved both adopting existing and creating new bespoke applications for internal and client-facing applications. The team needed to make bug fixes and code updates to the existing project in order to make it production-ready. We also needed to create new apps to manage access and create an entryway for users.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The existing project we adopted was stalled for a year on the client side. After adopting it, we were able to get it production-ready within 2 months, which the client was thrilled with. They have continued to be impressed by the speed in which we are able to churn out new applications and help guide their thinking on upcoming ones.

We manage the projects through Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Trello) and Slack. We use a traditional agile approach that includes daily standups and 2-week sprint cycles. Through this, we have a smooth stream of communication and goals that keep us aligned and the client informed.

When I worked at the IT company, we engaged with Promact to design and develop a new accounting application because our former one was outdated.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Promact helped us develop an accounting system that helps users with their billing, invoicing, and inventory. They designed and built the system’s architecture and the different modules from scratch. Ultimately, they delivered a desktop application that my former company offered as a SaaS solution.

I’m not sure how many people from Promact worked on our project because I was only involved in the hiring process. They worked directly with our technical team.

The initial contract signed was for $48,000, but the total amount might have been more.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started around June 2019 and ended in February of 2022. It lasted for two and a half years.

The app developed by Promact helped my former company in many ways because the former one was very problematic. Customers liked it a lot because it helped them ease their workflow and keep track of their accounts and inventory.

Promact performed well and was professional. Their project managers followed the agile methodology, making the process very easy. We hardly had to manage anything because they delivered what they promised. Additionally, they were very proactive in informing us whenever there would be delays. We used Jira for project management and email and Microsoft Teams for communication.

Promac’s expertise and knowledge of the industry were impressive. They understood our instructions without much explaining.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Promact’s communication needed improvement. We faced some communication challenges due to the language barrier.
