What challenge were you trying to address with Prishusoft?

We were converting a legacy software written in Microsoft Access to a web-based system. There were many reports we had to bring over.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Prishusoft helped us finish the configuration of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) so it could function, which was the first challenge we came across. It wasn’t a trivial thing to integrate with our environment, so they played a key role in helping us set it up. They also assisted us in migrating close to 700 reports from our legacy system to SSRS. The reports ranged from fairly simple to amazingly complicated, and they weren’t necessarily structured all that well to start with. This resulted in challenges from both the reporting side and the SQL side behind the reports. Prishusoft solved them all.

After that process, Prishusoft helped us recover from a malware attack we experienced. It took hold of our configuration, and Prishusoft played a role in saving our business. We were up and running again within one day. They worked extensively, quickly, and correctly.

They’ve also helped with data migration. It was a time-consuming manual process so Prishusoft wrote a script that allowed us to finish the job in a matter of hours. It still needed a bit of manual attention because of the complexity of working with around 500 data tables, but they did an impressive job.

We first came together in 2018, and our most recent project concluded in November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve learned so much from Mayur; he deeply understands SSRS configuration. I would give Mayur a ten out of ten on SSRS configuration and report development, eight out of ten in terms of Microsoft SQL — only because there’s a huge range of people — and nine out of ten for scripting.

How did Prishusoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re based in India, and during the malware attack, Mayur continued to work past midnight his time after working on it all day. Their flexibility is great, as is the turnaround. He gets me answers in five minutes to something that it would take me an hour to understand. The quick turnaround is almost more important than the dollars you’re spending these days, as people are looking for fast results.

Mayur adapts to our requirements and delivers on or ahead of schedule. It’s been a pleasure to work with him throughout our relationship. There’s always the question of trusting someone when you work remotely because you don’t want to place too much in their hands and have it blow up on you. I’ve come to trust Mayur and Prishusoft completely.

Their technical work in SSRS report development stands out. This was their focus with us and they did it extremely well.

Communication required a bit of extra work, but it did work overall.

Hire Mayur and Prishusoft if they’re available; I suspect they get booked pretty heavily. Seize the opportunity.

I was looking for very specific skills in .NET and React framework. Prishusoft had the experience that fit the project and their reviews were very good.

Kept all of the base functionality from the app we started with plus added a few functions that didn't exist before.

There was great communication from Mayur and the Prishusoft team. They were very responsive via Skype and never left me hanging or wondering what was going on as they updated me regularly.

Prishusoft was able to understand exactly what we were trying to achieve from the very beginning and they were also able to fill in any gaps in the brief without me having to explain each pixel. Very happy with their abilities.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing to improve, just keep the same level of quality that they gave on this project.

Prishusoft were able to address all of our requirements successfully and were able to provide guidance on future capability too.

As we engaged remotely, the Prishusoft staff typically engaged through Skype to discuss requirements and clarified/demonstrated capability through remote session shadowing. I found the communication to be frequent and they were often chasing me up for response.

The team's responsiveness was excellent and they were able to quickly develop an understanding of how our back end application and its APIs worked.

We have a couple of team members working on the backend but had very no knowledge of frontend and UI design. We needed some help from a good frontend developer with knowledge of angular, html5, javascript, .Net core. We needed the UI to be developed form scratch and in multiple phases and required an engineer who can understand the requirements fast and turn it around quickly.

We decided on working with prishusoft after a brief interview that involved showing the concept at high-level. They were able to immediately comprehend the requirements and had a quick turn around with the estimates for Phase 1. They had extensive knowledge of software engineering, Front design and development , and .Net Core and Java.

Design and develop frontend using angular, akveo themes, html5, .Net core backend and java. Multiple features were request in multiple phases which is on-going.

We worked with one dedicated resource who was a chief architect and senior developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to get UI up and running with minimal supervision and thus was able to concentrate only on the backend. The code was pushed at the end of Phase 1 and we moved to Phase 2 almost immediately thanks to great work done by the engineer.

Project Management involved use of requirements documents from our side and daily communication through slack.

The company and the engineer were flexible and getting in touch with the developer directly helped speed-up time to market. They have knowledge of latest UI and backend technologies and are quick learners when required. They are able to comprehend the requirements fast and were able to give suggestions where required.

So far the experience has been great to work with the engineer!

We engaged Prishusoft to build the frontend of a web application and develop a database for a cloud application that my company developed.

What were your goals for this project?

The frontend of the web application needed to be responsive and work with customized information that could be displayed using Google Maps. Several very specific requirements needed to be satisfied to convey the correct routing information to users.

We initially learned of Prishusoft while interviewing vendors for a previous smaller project. We selected their team to complete that work, and they proved to be competent and capable of asking the right critical questions. Given their success with that initiative, we did not consider other firms for our latest project.

Our teams collaborated to find design solutions for specific elements. We especially appreciated our project manager’s technical insight. I have a technical background, as well, so we were able to resolve many issues without a lot of management overhead. We worked very well together.

I appreciated their ability to quickly grasp the intended functionality of our product. With very little guidance, they began making progress and offering suggestions. We were impressed by the speed of their development.

When we purchased the business in May 2018, it quickly became apparent that we needed a customized booking system. Therefore, we started looking for someone to develop a web app with an associated database.

What were your goals for this project?

We were looking for a custom system (nothing in the market would provide what we needed without significant complexity and cost) that would simplify our paper flow and prevent us from double-booking equipment and resources.

How did you select this vendor?

I’d worked with several developers that I found on Elance (now Upwork) several years ago, so I was confident that I would find someone suitable from the many, many contractors now working on the platform. I found Prishusoft within minutes and felt that they were the right choice.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

After a brief Skype discussion to outline both the project and a plan to move forward together, I forwarded my prototype’s source code and database structure, which I developed using my own rusty .NET skills, to Prishusoft for review. They came back with a brief scope of work and time estimates of when they’d reach each milestone. We agreed that an Azure-hosted, .NET web app with an SQL database-supported backend was the most appropriate solution. I then left the team to approach the project as they saw fit.

Their owner, Mayur, is my only point of contact. He works with a number of technology specialists.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Though the project is still in the final deployment and testing stage, I'm confident that it’ll drastically reduce the time we spend on our quoting process, as well as provide us better control over bookings (avoiding double-bookings) and our delivery schedule.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Their owner is the driving force behind our progress, pro-actively making sure that his team has what they need from me to finish their work in a timely manner. He keeps me informed of their progress and gives me a gentle nudge when I need to take action or provide feedback.

He makes sure that the team behind him is large enough to finish the job and always gets approval on time estimates for features I add beyond the original scope. From my perspective, Mayur—acting as a single point of contact—helps the project run flawlessly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I’ve had several good experiences with freelancers over the years, and Mayur and his team are second to none. His communication is timely and clear and he guides the project forward with a firm hand, which is exactly what I need.
