PixelBeard designed and prototyped user interfaces that demonstrate the mobile application functionality for the wearable transdermal therapeutic delivery device. This included three distinct use scenarios, such as vitamins and supplements, weight loss (e.g. GLP-1), and drug regimen management in a professional healthcare environment.

Under deadline pressure, PixelBeard delivered the three working mobile applications which were used as part of a demonstration package by D Square's client at Europe’s largest startup and founder festivals, Bits & Pretzels.

We worked closely with Adam (Managing Director) at PixelBaerd, who managed deliverables throughout the project and ensured all our requirements were met both on time and on budget.

Aside from their understanding of design and technical expertise, the team was incredibly responsive, especially when it came to resolving some late hardware and software interaction issues.

I'm a partner at Bearight Consulting, a specialist consultancy in customer, digital, and board development. We also have a retail startup app.

We had an innovative new-to-market app idea.

What was the scope of their involvement?

PixelBeard designed and built our B2C app. The team handled the entire app development process, including UI/UX design, coding, testing, and deployment. The only thing they didn't do was client user testing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

PixelBeard's app design was superb. We got a much better than MVP product for great value. The team also thought about our next steps and our retail portal. This resulted in 40,000 organic downloads within a two-year period and a product page conversion 3x the industry average. We also secured a six-figure investment from it. The conversion to download from the product page was pushed towards 50% rather than the 15% average. The six-figure investment was directly linked to the app's performance and user growth metrics.

How did PixelBeard perform from a project management standpoint?

PixelBeard handled the project well and with diligence. We got more than we asked for, and the team was largely on time. We had in-person meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

PixelBeard's conceptual thinking and design work were exceptionally strong. Their back-office app developers also thought ahead rather than just delivering the bare minimum.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had the occasional misstep on what we thought we were getting, but that's to be expected.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Every new feature was delivered to a high standard and on time, including the full process of design, build, test and release. The team was always very easy to work with - communicating regularly and working together to find the best solutions. They had full responsibility of our Android app so were also proactive in detecting bugs, alerting us to them and fixing them - so overall our work with Pixelbeard was very successful.

Highly responsive - we had a dedicated project manager who responded to most messages pretty much immediately, in addition to regular contact with our developers. Timelines were planned clearly, we had regular updates on progress, and ultimately every project we worked on shipped within the timelines we'd agreed

I’m the director of an AI-powered legal training app. Aspiring and junior lawyers can practice advocacy on our app and receive feedback on their performances.

We needed to bring our ideas to life and build an advocacy analysis app. We wanted a professional-looking web app that provided specific analysis across many forms of advocacy.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our app is ready for launch. We’ve had successful video submissions, and the app is delivering usable feedback on the performances. We’ve tested it with a small group of individuals who reported positive experiences and they’ve reported that the app is giving specific and actionable feedback. 

How did PixelBeard perform from a project management standpoint?

PixelBeard has delivered on time. They’ve been clear with timescales throughout the project, and we’ve always been kept updated. During the initial testing process, we were able to report bugs through tickets, and the team actioned them quickly. We communicate with PixelBeard through in-person meetings, virtual meetings and email.

We’re impressed by how approachable PixelBeard is. When we made the initial inquiry, they came back to us very quickly and scheduled a meeting. We contacted around 10 companies, and PixelBeard was the only one to respond. They have a professional setup and understand our needs exactly.

PixelBeard worked with us to design, develop, test and launch the first version of the PokiStock mobile application. The project included UI/UX design, Flutter mobile app development, backend integration, vendor onboarding features, user accounts, stock listings, analytics, app store submissions and ongoing support throughout the launch process.

Key deliverables included a fully functional iOS and Android application, an admin management system, vendor profile functionality, stock management features, analytics tracking, bug fixes, performance improvements and ongoing development guidance. The team also assisted with app store compliance, submissions and post-launch support while helping shape the future roadmap of the platform.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project successfully delivered a live mobile application available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Since launch, PokiStock has grown to over 200 users, 60+ vendors, hundreds of listings and thousands of in-app interactions.

The platform has established partnerships within the trading card community and created a central hub that is actively used by collectors and vendors. Most importantly, the project turned an idea into a real, functioning business and provided the foundation for future marketplace expansion.

Project management has been exceptional throughout the entire process. As a first-time app founder with a very ambitious vision, I had countless questions, ideas and changes along the way, yet Adam and the PixelBeard team were always approachable, patient and willing to help.

Communication has been one of their biggest strengths. Whether through calls, emails or ongoing discussions, I always felt informed and involved in the development process. Technical concepts were explained clearly, making what could have been an overwhelming experience feel manageable and exciting.

What stood out most was how invested the team became in the project itself. They didn't simply build what was asked of them; they actively contributed ideas, offered guidance and challenged assumptions when necessary to help create the strongest possible product.

The result is a live application that I am genuinely proud of. As someone who came into this process without a technical background, having a team I could trust made all the difference. Their professionalism, transparency and support have been invaluable throughout the journey.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed me most was how invested PixelBeard became in the success of the project. They didn't treat PokiStock as just another client app; they took the time to understand the vision, challenge ideas where needed and genuinely care about the outcome.

As a first-time app founder, I had no technical background and was understandably nervous after previous experiences with developers. Adam and the team consistently went above and beyond to explain things clearly, offer guidance and help me make informed decisions.

Their transparency, accessibility and willingness to jump on calls whenever needed made a huge difference. I never felt like I was being left in the dark. The combination of strong technical ability and genuine client care is what sets PixelBeard apart.

Most importantly, they took a concept that existed only in my head and helped turn it into a live product used by real people across the UK. That is something I'll always be grateful for.

I genuinely don't have any significant areas for improvement to highlight. My experience with PixelBeard has been overwhelmingly positive from start to finish. The team have been professional, supportive, responsive and committed throughout the project.

Building a first app can be a daunting process, but PixelBeard made it feel achievable. They helped turn an idea into a live product and have continued to support the project every step of the way. I would happily work with them again in the future.
