Mindray Technologies is a mobile monetisation company. We distribute digital content to users using Telcos as our distribution partner and channel due to their sheer scale and addressable market. I co-founded Mindray with a former work colleague and i focus on Sales, Partnerships and e2e Project Management & Engagement

For what projects/services did your company hire Pheuture Studio Pvt Ltd?

Pheuture Studio was hired to design, integrate and provide continuous support our VAS infrastructure with the Telcos.

How did you select Pheuture Studio Pvt Ltd and what were the deciding factors?

After a careful and thorough review of system integration service providers in the Telco VAS Space, we settled on 3 companies and sent them an RFP. Pheuture demonstrated overall competence and was selected as our provider of choice.

The project demanded that we develop the following packages; Network Connection with Telco via VPN Application Development - APIs SMSC & USSD Traffic Integration SDP (SMS Billing & Subscription) Integration Pre-Production Configuration and Testing Production Configuration and Testing

We typically had 3 resources directly involved in the project - Engagement Manager, Software developer and DevOps Engineer

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

For instance, Within 7 days of engagement with Pheuture, Our VPN Connection with the Telco was up and running with no downtimes.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was quite effective because of use of instant messaging rather lengthy emails - Extensive use of Slack and Skype ensured that there as no Silo work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Effective communication - Not over communicating. I am most impressed with their work ethic. Considering that they are 4hours ahead of West African time, they were involved in meetings with us and the Telcos even at off work times. It was really clear to Mindray that Pheuture had handled such projects in the past and that we are not guinea pigs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their service is not cheap :-). Aside that, i dont see any negatives.

I’m the CEO of a software startup in Cameroon that offers mobile services for enterprises.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pheuture Studio Pvt Ltd?

We hired Pheuture Studio to help us develop applications for mobile network operators.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Pheuture Studio has helped us develop five iOS and Android applications for our clients. One app, in particular, is a gaming platform where users can subscribe to start playing games. Their team is in charge of designing the UI/UX, but we also sometimes provide documentation for them to work with.

After development, Pheuture Studio provides us with digital marketing services. They cover all social media platforms but they specifically focus on Google Ads and PPC. Their online ads are geared towards winning us new customers.

What is the team composition?

We work with ten people from their team, and our main contact is the team manager.

How did you come to work with Pheuture Studio Pvt Ltd?

I don't remember how we came across them, but I think I was given their contact by someone who had worked with them in the past.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent around $1 million–$3 million since we started this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began our partnership in Q1 2015, and we’re still working together.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve gained 1 million subscribers across all of our services combined — a very high number for a country like ours. Though the number of subscribers doesn't automatically translate to active users, we’ve still been able to retain many active users for our apps.

The revenue itself is also a success metric. It’s the reason we’ve been able to keep paying for Pheuture Studio’s services. It simply means that their services are effective and customers like what they develop.

How did Pheuture Studio Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

I don’t recall them ever missing a deadline. We appreciate that they can work fast because some projects put us under a lot of pressure. Our communications are also quite constant, and they cater to our needs very professionally. We use Skype, email, phone calls, and WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They react quickly to issues and they deliver on time. We’ve not worked with many partners like them so we can’t compare them to other providers, but we’re definitely very satisfied with their services.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The design is hard to measure because its quality is very subjective, but they can definitely improve on it by making the visuals softer and more appealing. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be sure to tell them in detail what you need to be displayed in your applications. Trust that their team will deliver because they’re good at what they do.
