Pengreen Design's approach to project management had some areas of concern. While they were prompt in their billing processes, this efficiency did not consistently extend to other areas of the project. Specifically, the timeliness in delivering revisions was not up to my expectations. There was a noticeable delay in making the necessary changes and updates to the website and e-commerce platform, which impacted the overall timeline of the project

Nothing was special about this company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Pengreen Design - UX/UI Design Studio could have done differently?

I recently had an experience with Pengreen Design that I feel compelled to share. I chose their services expecting a high-quality, differentiated product, as their pricing was above market rates. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. Key issues included a lapse in communication regarding the management of my domains, which were hosted through Umbler. 

This led to a loss of access to my website and email, as the domain transfer was linked to an email managed by Pengreen Design. Despite my attempts to reach out, my concerns were not adequately addressed. I believe in constructive feedback and hope that this review encourages Pengreen Design to improve their communication and service reliability.

Pengreen followed a traditional research, design and execute workflow. They produced prototypes and insights along the way. The project was completed on time, meeting all of our expectations.

Our online training platform's web administration UX is a very complex system that isn't very user friendly (admittedly designed by engineers years ago) and is need of an overhaul for usability.

Scope was to analyse and suggest re-design ideas for the PlanSafe administration system. This is not an easy request as the system is complex and requires a deep understanding of the content creation workflow and usability factors.

The wireframes they responded with were excellent and we will hopefully be moving to the next stages of the design work with them in the near future.

Conference calls, screenshares, emails, and communications via Teams mostly - Pengreen essentially was happy to work within the framework that we required (MS Teams, Jira) and they had no trouble integrating into our workflow.. they always made themselves available whenever we needed.

We were very impressed with how they took the time to understand the system's functionality.. they asked far more penetrating questions about the various functions than the other firms we spoke with.

As a web developer, I focused on ensuring that the technical elements were robust and polished. I wanted to spend the same amount of thought and detail on usability but lacked the time and talent. I hired Pengreen Design to fill that gap with their experience and vision.

The goal was broad. We needed to not only design the product, but also think about the whole UX. My job was to make sure the app worked, and their job was to ensure that users got as much utility as possible.

Pengreen Design offered many advantages. They responded quickly and spent a good amount of time detailing the project. Many vendors just wanted to follow instructions, but I needed a firm that brought their opinions and vision. That's why I chose Pengreen Design.

Describe the project in detail.

Task Guide is a SaaS product that blends human tasks with automation. It allows users to create reusable, shareable checklists that trigger automated flows and ensure that critical business processes are done correctly. Pengreen Design created visuals and flows.

They handled the visual language, the layouts and graphics, the interactions between the features, and the order of operation that would achieve an ideal UX. I provided skeleton functionality in a loose technical spec document, and we discussed our goals at length. Once we were both comfortable with the level of understanding and detail, they delivered the concepts and polished designs.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since this was the initial project release, we had no metrics. However, in terms of time and cost, they kept everything within my timeline and budget. Their communication and attention to detail negated most of the issues that typically stall projects. We successfully launched Task Guide shortly after finishing the design. It was one of the smoothest launches I've ever seen. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our workflow was symbiotic. We lost practically zero energy to inefficient communication. Every meeting, every email, and every feedback moment added value to our work. Most importantly, we dialogued throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed by the turnaround time and quality, which are normally trade-offs. Their initial mockups were high-definition, their turnaround time was remarkably fast, and the quality of their work did not diminish with speed.

We can do better, but our project was as efficient as it could have been. I was happy with the work and the team.

Pengreen was hired to create the user interface for a product that was being updated. The project aimed to consolidate all deliverables (text documents, PowerPoint presentations and spreadsheets) into a single interface, to facilitate access and retain customers. Pengreen's task was to design the interface and its main components. The key deliverables were:

It's a small company with capable professionals. They know what they are doing, they do it fast and with quality. They also respect and defend their own work. Sometimes during the project we did not fully understand the purpose of some decisions they made . Pengreens's respectfully showed us the reason behind their choices and why our so called "alternatives" were sub-optimal. This shows the value of their work: They know what is better, why is better and how to explain it to their customers.

Our client is developing a new portal for education content (K12). The project is challenging, because the structure of the content is complex. There certainly are similarities between disciplines, but there are also a lot of differences and subtleties. Designing a UX that is consistent across the portal, yet takes all these details into consideration, is not trivial. The PenGreen team was able to quickly grasp the structure of the content for all the disciplines in the portal, and to propose relevant UX/UI patterns. The team produced visual mockups that proved very efficient to interact with our business stakeholders.
