Pattern Technologies is our product and engineering partner for the platform that runs our meal prep subscription business in the UAE. Before this we ran on spreadsheets and had no mobile app. 

Key deliverables: 
1. Web app for subscribers, covering plan browsing, subscription sign up, delivery management and payments. 
2. ⁠Mobile app on iOS and Android, giving subscribers the same experience on the phone. 5,000+ downloads to date. 
3. ⁠Operations dashboard for the business, covering inventory, meals, menus, meal plans, customers, deliveries, cooking operations and label generation for the kitchen. 
4. ⁠Custom integration with other meal providers and aggregators, so we can serve demand beyond our own channel. 

The engagement ran through discovery and scoping, UX and UI design, web and mobile development, the operations and kitchen build, app store release, and the aggregator integration, and continues into ongoing maintenance and feature releases. The platform now carries 100,000+ AED per month in subscriptions, and replaced third party software that charged us 7 to 8% per subscription with no room to customise.

We work with a project manager and a lead engineer from Pattern, and both are reachable directly rather than through a layer of account management.

Touchpoints are daily or weekly depending on what is in flight, and day to day support runs over WhatsApp, so a question during service hours gets an answer quickly rather than waiting for the next scheduled call.

Delivery has been on time. Two examples stand out: the referral program and the integration with a meal aggregator were both turned around quickly so we could go live on the timeline we needed, not the timeline a vendor found convenient.

They respond to changes in priority without pushing back on process. When something moves up the list because of what is happening in the business, it moves up the list.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The product understanding. Pattern did not just build what we specified, they learned how a meal prep subscription business actually runs, which is why the dashboard handles meal plans, cooking operations and label generation the way our kitchen needs rather than the way a generic platform assumes.

Turnaround is faster than we expected from an outsourced team. Requests do not sit in a queue waiting for a sprint boundary.

And the problem solving attitude. When something is not straightforward, the answer is a proposed approach rather than a reason it cannot be done. That is what made the aggregator integration and the referral program possible without a long negotiation about scope.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Pattern Labs could have done differently?

Nothing major. As the platform has grown, more formal documentation and roadmap visibility would help us plan further ahead. Most of our communication happens over WhatsApp, which works well for speed, but written updates and a shared view of what is coming next would make it easier for us to plan on our side. It has not held anything up so far.

That is true of a small fast-moving team, costs you nothing with future prospects, and reads as a real answer rather than a polite dodge.

While our overall experience with Pattern Labs was excellent, one potential area for improvement could be increasing visibility into their internal process timelines. Occasionally, more detailed updates on progress between major milestones would have helped us plan our side more effectively. That said, they were always responsive when we reached out, so even this was a minor point. It’s clear they prioritize client satisfaction, and we’re confident they’ll continue to refine an already strong workflow.

Pattern was engaged to develop a revamped rider app and a customized customer-facing app for ANDO, tailored to our unique food delivery operations. The scope included user experience redesign, backend integration with our logistics and payment systems, and feature enhancements such as kitchen check-in, delivery radius tracking, and payment collection. Key deliverables included the deployment of both iOS and Android versions of the apps, admin dashboards, and staging environments for testing. Pattern is now supporting us with the rollout of these apps in new markets, starting with Rwanda.

Reduced aggregator dependency: Successfully shifted a significant portion of orders from third-party platforms to Ando's direct channel, reducing commission expenses

What stood out the most was the level of personal involvement from the founders, Wajeeh and Yahya. They don’t just build tech - they invest emotionally and strategically in your success. They genuinely care about your growth, work closely with your team, and celebrate every milestone as if it were their own. That level of ownership and partnership is rare and deeply appreciated.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Pattern Labs could have done differently?

One area for improvement would be setting more realistic timelines at the start of certain projects, to better match the complexity of the work involved. That said, despite a few delays, the team consistently delivered high-quality outputs and ensured that the final results met our expectations.

I’m the founder of Trove, a bookmark archive that connects to your preferred AI model for enhanced search and discovery of your saved and curated content.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pattern Labs?

I was working on an app project that was entirely Vibe-coded, and it was taking a significant amount of time to reach completion. I was essentially falling behind on my launch schedule. Therefore, I hired Pattern Labs to complete the project and ship the final product so I could start testing it with users.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Pattern Labs has taken over the half-done product I had and has taken it to completion. The goal is to ensure the app is completed without any major security or experience flaws. While I’m busy with my day job, the team continues to develop the product without a huge dependency on me for progress.Some of the main deliverables for the web app project include the following:

• Ensuring the key features I’ve planned for Trove, including user signup, creating bookmarks, setting up collections, different user roles for that collection, and ultimately sharing collections, are existent and refined enough for a user. There are also new features.
• Building the admin portal so I can manage some pieces of the backend with a better UI.
• Integrating Mixpanel to check product analytics.
• Reviewing and tightening security to ensure the app is stable and secure and doesn’t have any major flaws or gaps.
• Setting up a CI/CD pipeline so that whenever I Vibe-code down the road, there’s a proper workflow setup.
• Deploying the app on AWS and ensuring we have two instances (prod and dev).
• Developing the MCP tool, which requires connecting Trove to the AI model so users can use Trove fully.

We started working together in February 2026, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Pattern Labs has deployed the web app on dev and prod servers and ensured all features are functioning as planned. They’ve also integrated Mixpanel and MCP with the AI model successfully. Moreover, the project was aimed for completion by early March, and Pattern Labs was spot on with the handover timeline. This could’ve been earlier, but there was some delay on my end in terms of testing and review.

How did Pattern Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Pattern Labs has delivered on time. We communicate through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps. We track the project via Trello, and the majority of the tickets are resolved at an excellent pace.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Two things are primarily impressive about Pattern Labs: their pace of development and their responsiveness in communication. For example, they address any critical security errors regardless of the time of day.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Pattern Labs could improve their documentation approach post-project handover to ensure the parts discussed in the scope are fully delivered and what has been adjusted to be covered later.
