I'm the founder and CEO of a buying and selling platform. Users of the app can place orders using a mobile number.

What challenge were you trying to address with Palm Infotech?
I started the project initially and then hired a couple of people. I wasn’t happy with them, so we needed help with mobile app development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Palm Infotech came into the picture to provide mobile app development solutions for our platform's backend through a resource they provided that has great good skills. The product is an Android and iOS application where users can sync contacts. Vendors can add the items to sell, a unit price for a specific item, and manage the inventory — a complete order management system.
The key technologies are Python for the backend with Django framework. I decided to use Python because as the number of customers grows, we need to have big data analysis to examine the data. We chose to use React Native on the frontend because it gives us the flexibility to write the code once.
The system can also manage daily and monthly reports, briefly describe which items are fast moving or slow moving, and the months that specific products are moving faster.
What is the team composition?
Initially, I hired two people from their team. As the development grows, the work reduces by a lot, and then the maintenance starts, so at the moment, I decided only to have one resource from Palm Infotech.
How did you come to work with Palm Infotech?
I used Upwork to find the right candidate, and Palm Infotech replied to my posting. After that, I explained my requirements to them, and we decided to start working together.
How much have you invested in them?
I've spent less than $10,000 with them so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership began in June 2022, and it's ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I measure their success based on their coding standards and within what time they are delivering it. I have years of experience in the software industry, so I know how strong the resource is technically just by speaking to him.
How did Palm Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?
They've met every deadline; when I give them a requirement, they take half a day to analyze and see how much work they need to do. Based on that, they come up with an estimated ending date.
Regarding tools, we use Github, AWS tools for server maintenance, Flutter, and Google Meet for our daily one-hour stand-up call. We can discuss if we are stuck anywhere and how the work is progressing.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their strength lies in their technical skills and experience; they have a good amount of experience in mobile application development, which allows them to deliver what they promise.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could expand their team to have more resources. They don't have a Python resource, so it would be beneficial if they had someone who could do that and other languages.
