Origami Studio was brought in to lead the iOS side of development. This included building the application interface, handling UX decisions, and working through integration challenges with WebRTC. Since we’re also a development company, the process was highly collaborative. Their team contributed technical guidance, solved platform-level issues, and helped shape product decisions throughout.They worked closely with our internal team on several project three or four in total including one major build. At one point, when we hired an internal iOS developer, Origami Studio provided ongoing support and technical oversight to help that developer succeed.One of the biggest technical challenges was using the Google-provided WebRTC toolkit for iOS, which at the time was still relatively new. Origami Studio was instrumental in finding and fixing bugs within the toolkit. Their work helped stabilize our iOS app and made it viable for production use.

I needed a team that could work with me to create my company's mobile app. The design and development aspects of my project were difficult to collaborate with other firms, so I required a vendor who could collaborate effectively across those domains. I had worked on the Fundamental Fitness app with two different teams, but the focus changed and I had to update it significantly. I had already spent a lot of money on it, so I decided to hire a professional team to redesign and develop the app from scratch. I wanted a team that can conduct workshops to understand the concept and develop flows before the commencement of app development.

One of our key features is implementing an algorithm for evaluating people's health states as they begin the program and throughout the program. This ultimately yields an adherence score as a measure of success. Additionally, an advanced feature to support communication between our participants and facilitators.

There are many fitness apps currently available on the market. However, most of them require a paid subscription in order to use all of their features. There are some free fitness apps available, but they tend to be very basic and lack the functionality that users want and need. My goal was to create a fitness app that is both free to use and has all of the features that users need including:

• A calorie tracker that allows users to input the foods they have eaten and track their caloric intake
• A workout tracker that allows users to input their workouts and see their progress over time
• A challenges feature that allows users to complete challenges and earn rewards
• A social media feature that allows users to connect with friends and family and share their progress
• Implementing my patent algortithm to evaluate people’s health states.
• A motivation feature that sends users motivational messages and articles

I worked with seven people on their team. This includes a project manager, development lead, design lead, two app developers and one quality assurance engineer. I assume there are more people involved with whom I didn't interact.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Yes, we are seeing progress and success with the fitness app development project. Outcomes from the project thus far include: - 12% increase in daily active users - 20% increase in time spent on the app per day -23% increase in content engagement. These outcomes demonstrate that users are finding the app more useful and engaging, which is translating into better health outcomes. We are also seeing positive feedback from users in terms of the app's impact on their fitness routines.

I'm not a good project manager myself, but Origami’s team did a fabulous job. We have weekly check-ins where they go over what they're working on and so far everything has been right on-time and within budget. We communicate via Slack and Zoom.
