The first was to give Origami Studios a basic concept of the features, functionalities, and content that the website should have. Subsequently, many gatherings were scheduled to guarantee the developers understood the precise requirements. To demonstrate progress and gather input, regular meetings were held on a weekly or more frequent basis.Slack was a useful tool for communicating and staying informed about the project's various phases. Trello was used to track development, find holes, make additions, and modifications, and communicate with the developers in an organized manner. We were allowed to examine early versions of the website throughout time, and whenever we witnessed a new feature or interface modification, we promptly submitted input. This allowed us to stop working on something we felt was off course and to identify mistakes and misconceptions early on. We eventually became adept at utilizing the different tools, and we got to the point where we were comfortable with the direction things were going. The deliverables included the source code for the iOS and Android mobile applications, the website itself (which was created with Ruby on Rails on an Ubuntu server with Nginx and Puma) that was already connected through the domain name, and a GitHub repository containing the source code. Entry to the accounts that manage the applications.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The website is still there years later. The database is multiple GB, and the data is searchable with ease. Not because of the neglect in maintaining the website. That in itself, is evidence of the developers' power.

It is a movable and flexible management style. We met weekly over Google Hangouts for town halls, as well as Slack, Trello and via email. We also utilized the 10 month period to get to know about the team more. In my eyes, they are already quite lovely. I tell them it is not necessary, however on occasions they call their customers to wish them a Happy Holiday or even just ask how the items that they supplied are going. I am far from complaining as this was not mandatory, but I will note that they at least helped by patching some or all of the mentioned obsolete gems to secure against security vulnerabilities.

Since we’re also a development company, the process was highly collaborative. Their team contributed technical guidance, solved platform-level issues, and helped shape product decisions throughout.They worked closely with our internal team on several project three or four in total including one major build. At one point, when we hired an internal iOS developer, Origami Studio provided ongoing support and technical oversight to help that developer succeed.One of the biggest technical challenges was using the Google-provided WebRTC toolkit for iOS, which at the time was still relatively new. Origami Studio was instrumental in finding and fixing bugs within the toolkit. Their work helped stabilize our iOS app and made it viable for production use.
