For what projects/services did your company hire OpenByte, and what were your goals?

We had the goal of building a functional web app from scratch. This app would have to be scalable and usable by external users. We hired OpenByte to build it from scratch and create the tech stack as well.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Openbyte had previous experience building multiple apps from scratch, including one similar to our desired product. They were very knowledgeable and took initiative from the beginning. We also contacted a previous employer which gave us even more confidence.

They developed a new web app. Everything beyond the design was in scope: setting up the tech stack, database, backend + frontend, and all tools and APIs as well. The technologies used were laravel and also OpenAI. The key deliverable was an MVP version of the product, which we iterated on.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Only one person worked as a developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to provide requirements and get a result quickly. One of the best aspects was that they were proactive in their research prior to taking on a task. The deliverable was good quality.

They met most deadlines, going over some estimates in certain cases. We used slack in which there was great responsiveness.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

One of the most impressive aspects was that they were proactive in their research prior to taking on a task.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Being a little bit more flexible when it comes to defining milestones and payment. It is a little bit difficult to continuously define milestones before every iteration or improvement.

We had problems tracking employee's time and productivity and that was an issue for our customers. We needed a system that will allow us to show each employee's tracking time and share that data with our customers. As a result, we decided to hire OpenByte because they already have a similar experience with building tracking employee's productivity and time.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched through the web for different tracking employee's systems but they were too expensive for us and then we decided to ask our friends if they know a company with similar experience. One of our friends told us that they know an IT software company that has experience with a similar product and we decided to contact them.

First of all, we have a short meeting to describe our needs and within a week they came up to us with a ready-to-go solution which meets fully our expectations. The solution was to use their existing product which does the same but with more than enough features. So the first step was using their product and adapt to our needs. The second step was to implement new features as share tracking time to our customers which were developed very fast. The project is built on laravel and vuejs.

There were 2 people that worked with me. The project manager and the developer which was responsible for developing and adapting the product to our needs.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Because of their solution we're able to track the employee's productivity and share that data with our customers. We're more than satisfied with this solution. More than that they gave us free support for 1 year which includes minor modifications like adding new features or fixing bugs.

The project management was great. We just had weekly meetings to discuss the current project status and planning next week. Our main communications tools were Slack, Asana, and Skype.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We did really like how they attached was to our project. Also, they were great at generating new ideas that I think it's a great feature to have.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really. Fortunately, I have nothing to add.

I'm the Chief of Marketing in Software company. We are an Israeli startup.

For what projects/services did your company hire We provide end-to-end web/mobile software-based solutions for your business., and what were your goals?

We hired OpenByte to help us build a custom solution for our StartUp called Tzoomi to help parents understand how productive their children are while online lessons. Our goal is to build from scratch a dashboard for parents where they will be able to view children's productivity reports and a client for Android and Windows that will collect child activities during online lessons and send them to the server.

We've found the vendor through LinkedIn Network and because they have great experience in building startups and already had built a similar solution, we decided to hire them.

We had regular weekly meetings where we've planned the tasks for a week ahead. They designed and delivered the dashboard for our customers where they were able to manage their children and check the productivity reports. They delivered the first stage of the project in 2 months. Also, they were responsible for the deployment of our product on the servers.

There were 2 developers in the team, one was responsible for building our dashboard platform, and another developed was responsible for building our clients for Windows, Android

We have launched the dashboard fast enough and start working with the clients that collect data from the computers. They were several errors found but they were fixed quickly.

We communicated through Slack as the main communication tool. They respond fast enough if we had any questions on Slack.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We liked that they were fully engaged and always generated interesting ideas for our project. The prototyping was fast enough to help us understand what we want to achieve.

I had several calls with Radu before we started and could instantly tell he was a very knowledgeable and skilled developer.

We needed to build out a full-standing resume builder to be another tool in our suite of tools.

Radu was able to fully build out this feature on time with hardly any bugs.

We communicated via Slack on a daily basis as well as utilized Asana to track tasks.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was very impressed with how few bugs there were on the first release. Normally in development, I'm used to seeing lots of little bugs after the first release....Radu hardly had any.

Nope. We were really happy with our experience with OpenByte!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The top management has now a much clearer picture on all IT initiatives and is always up to date.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Worked with Radu on plenty of projects. Impressive results in very short term. Can take the challenge to very ambitious and complex projects. The team produced high-quality work that exceeded our expectations.
