I’m the owner and sole psychotherapist of the Stress and Happiness Center of Dallas.

What challenge were you trying to address with OPANCO?

After taking a sabbatical to develop a new line of products, I decided to start my own practice in 2008. However, at the time, there were so many other psychotherapists online. I was concerned about building my practice and creating a digital presence after so many years, so I approached OPANCO to build my website and oversee my digital marketing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed my website from scratch, adding all of my background information, credentials, and business mission. They also clearly outlined my point of differentiation to attract new customers. In terms of digital marketing, they implemented SEO tactics, targeting various keywords to increase my search rankings. Occasionally, they would execute AdWords campaigns if business got slow. Now, they continue to oversee my SEO and PPC in addition to maintaining the site.

The initial site build cost about $8,000. Their monthly retainer fee is $1,500.

Their work started in May 2008 and is ongoing. They finished the website within three months and are now on retainer.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their digital marketing strategies have increased my visibility, pushing my keyword rankings to the top of the first page. They’ve created a steady flow of new business that easily maintains my necessary revenues. If things get slow, they launch effective AdWords campaigns to generate leads. It’s reassuring to have the placement and presence that I do, especially in such a saturated market.

How did OPANCO perform from a project management standpoint?

Since I’m not a tech-oriented person, they oversee everything for me. It’s been an outstanding experience, and they’ve exceeded my expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a unique understanding of digital marketing. They know how search engines work and stay on top of trends to meet those standards. They also know how to communicate effectively so that people can find what they’re looking for.

I’m the CFO of All Metals Fabricating based in Allen, Texas. We’re a contract manufacturer, specializing in sheet metal fabrication and machining.

We wanted to establish a larger online presence to generate more leads. In particular, we needed resources to develop our website and manage our SEO to increase our keyword rankings.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed an SEO-friendly website and collaborated with us to execute our digital marketing efforts. In terms of deliverables, they’ve provided press releases to increase our visibility as well as monthly reports, analyzing our rankings for all of our requested terms. Beyond targeting keywords and generating backlinks, they’ve ensured consistency across our social media accounts. We’ve also collaborated with them to write blog posts and share pictures.

We primarily work with Taylor, one of their co-founders, who also serves as our project manager and creative director.

I’ve known Josh, their other co-founder, since high school. Considering how he’s performed over the years in both web development and SEO strategy, it was an easy decision to choose them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Not only have they gotten us within the top 10 Google search results for all of our relevant terms, they’ve significantly increased our digital impact, yielding remarkable sales conversions. At least two of our top 10 clients found us through Google, which has been incredible.

How did opanco perform from a project management standpoint?

As I mentioned before, we meet once a month to discuss our performance reports, including our keyword rankings and additional analytics. When it comes to communication, they’re considerate of my irregular schedule and adapt accordingly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate their proactive approach to improving our online visibility, whether that involves making sure our content is consistent across our accounts or creating press releases to attract prospective leads. Their tactics have helped us stay at the forefront of our industry.

I’m the President of Caple Royalty Services. We’re an advisory and marketing service for industry and non-industry mineral owners.

What challenge were you trying to address with opanco?

We found that word-of-mouth recommendations and direct advertising were not reliable ways to build a customer base. Our target audience is spread out around that country and often operate far from their assets. We needed a firm to provide SEO for lead generation.

They’ve worked with us to deliver several projects throughout the engagement including the redesign of our two websites. They rebuilt both sites while focusing on SEO and technical efficiency. They also contracted another firm to produce videos that appear on the sites. opanco was heavily involved in that creative process to ensure the deliverables met our expectations. They continually drive our marketing efforts by leading a Google AdWords campaign, providing SEO services, and working to increase our social media presence.

We started working together in October in 2014 and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their SEO efforts have significantly increased the Google rankings of both our websites. These results have caused a continuing increase in web-traffic and subsequent business. Additionally, they’ve been great at suggesting and guiding us through domain acquisitions.

How did opanco perform from a project management standpoint?

We usually communicate through email, text, and Basecamp. We also have monthly meetings where we discuss the movement of keywords and other relevant analytics. They’re accessible and good about replying to my correspondence within a reasonable timeframe. Overall, they’ve done a great job and I’ve never had any complaints.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate their integrity, transparency, and industry knowledge. Working with other SEO firms without the same level of transparency and reliability have caused us issues in the past. Conversely, opanco performed every aspect of the engagement with competence and poise.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an entrepreneur with several businesses. I’ve worked with opanco for my medical company, BizInBoxMD (Equilibrium Weight Loss & Longevity). Our service model offers medical weight loss and hormone replacement therapy to patients in four clinics.

Our billings amount to $2.5 million per year. We’re headquartered in Dallas, operating three clinics in the Fort Worth area and one in the Houston area. Since our business is a cash service, we situate our brick-and-mortar locations in affluent, high-end areas. We have around 22 employees. Our medical professionals are contractors, while the day-to-day staff—such as health coaches and administrative personnel—are employees.

What challenge were you trying to address with opanco?

Most of our lead traffic is driven by internet marketing and simple word-of-mouth. The latter certainly works well as we’re scaling our business, but it’s a flatter way to move a business along, especially when we open a new location.

In 2017, we opened a clinic in Frisco, Texas, which is a hot and dynamic market. We were starting from zero, so we wanted to scale that business quickly.

I don’t personally embrace print advertising or anything like it. I’ve learned from experience and advice that the internet is the greatest way to scale a business. Before working with opanco, I had fairly sophisticated internet marketing. I was looking for a way to consolidate and refocus my four websites to reflect modern internet marketing ideas.

When we built our sites many years ago, the Google algorithms were very different. The agency with which I was working hadn’t done a good job moving us along that curve. We had been heavily penalized at an earlier date for black-hat links put in place by that agency. Those links were momentarily effective, but they affected us punitively after Google’s policy change.

I had to move out of that situation and leverage the good assets we had built into a strategy that would move us forward over the next few years.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The migration of the four existing sites was somewhat complicated, even though I’m fairly technical. They put together a new site that brought things together and incorporated SEO and PPC.

Josh (Founder, opanco) has been my main contact.

How did you come to work with opanco?

I met with opanco after getting their name from a referral and shopping around a little. Since I have more than one company, I sometimes receive solicitations. I sometimes gather information to understand who succeeds in this space. Having invested in internet marketing for the last 10 years, I have come across a lot of charlatans. It’s disheartening to partner with someone who doesn’t deliver.

I came across their founder while networking. Several providers exclusively work in the medical space. This was my trade-off: should I choose someone who might be a category-killer or pick a generalist without a cookie-cutter approach? I obviously chose the latter because it felt like it would serve me better.

My larger business strategy is to grow and scale rapidly through a franchise model. I need an agency that can support my concept. Josh could provide what I needed. When I met him, I realized that we could communicate well. Some people can become frustrated with me since I’m technical and want to understand all aspects of internet marketing. In any given week, I spend two hours in webinars, taking a deep dive into online marketing concepts like SEO, PPC, and social media.

Anyone working with me must be comfortable indulging my curiosity, which Josh was. It was clear to me right away that he was very smart. He had the appropriate knowledge about analytics and the more sophisticated aspects of internet marketing.

How much have you invested with them?

Whenever I talk to an agency, we always set media aside. I need to confirm that the group is not incentivized to sell media. Our total project costs with opanco have been above $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with opanco in April 2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My main goal for the work is to attract more patients to the clinics. We have throttled the scope, since I don’t want to spend money on ads and bring in more patients than we can service. Our focus is addressing each of our unique markets. Some are more competitive than others, which has a particular impact on our AdWords strategy. It’s dynamic, depending on the location.

Josh has been effective and cooperative. If I tell him that we need more traffic to the Southlake location, he will adjust the spend or another variable in our model to make the phone ring.

The most significant results are for the Frisco location. In 2016, I was starting from ground zero, opening in a new market without an existing patient base. I am opposed to traditional marketing, so I needed to make the internet work for me.

The location is in a medical area, and I have a nonmedical competitor across the parking lot. We literally look at each other’s doors. For me, the fact that I can open so close to a competitor confirms that my marketing works.

opanco has developed that location effectively. I will look to them as I launch this innovative, aggressive new business strategy. They will be responsible for attracting customers. When making those investments, I will have an internet marketer that I can depend on.

How did opanco perform from a project management standpoint?

Josh is always there when I need him. He’s all about work and is always available, which is one of the reasons we work well together. He knows that if I’m not sleeping, I’m evolving one of my businesses. If I call him at 10 p.m., I reach him. I don’t know if everyone would have the same experience with him, but it’s certainly been mine. I may have pushed the edge, but he’s accommodated me. I believe this is his mode of operation with all clients.

What did you find most impressive about them?

He understands the full spectrum and varied tactics of internet marketing. If I bring him ideas, he explains convincingly why they are good or bad. I appreciate the way he chooses to work with me. opanco delivers the goods in a very competitive space. I need to work with an agency that can support my model, and opanco does.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re getting work done for me. As they add more clients onto their portfolio, it will become a challenge to service their existing base. There are some things that we won’t need to build again. We’re creating a strong base so that we can move into a maintenance and new development mode shortly. Once our toolset is complete, Josh will be able to scale our account and put less time into it while getting more results. That’s what I expect from the new phase.

I have talked to him about a cookie-cutter template system. I believe this will keep my costs down and help him service growing clients without straining his resources.
