BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

The National Student Engagement Programme (NStEP) is a national body that supports the development of meaningful engagement and partnership between students and staff in Irish higher education institutions. Our flagship student training programme is now in it's 5th year of delivery.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire One Productions?

One Productions successfully tendered for the production of animated video content to support the redevelopment of NStEP's Student Training programme.

What were your goals for this project?

This project was crucial to ensuring that the content of the training was more memorable for students undertaking our short sessions providing muiltimedia content that would become a recognisable resource across the sector.

It would also allow us to build on core messages. The content needed to support the elevation of NStEP's brand, as well as support student and staff development.

How did you select One Productions?

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

There were 5 videos created, each with particular unique purposes. From the initial outline of our needs, One Productions then walked us through the process in a very supportive and collaborative way, exploring how to most effectively get our message across both visually and through the refinement of the scripts we provided.

Each video had a slightly different deadline, across a period of 4 months, yet One Productions was incredibly patient and supportive throughout. Storyboarding was very useful and the ideas that the team brought to us were fantastic - they grasped our concepts and needs very quickly.

The review process for each video was very smooth, and only small amendments were ever required.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

The project relied on animation, as this was the most effective way to complete the project during the pandemic. A number of members of the One Production team were involved, and were extremely supportive throughout.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The storyboarding and scripting process was extremely beneficial to our team - helping us to refine the way in which we communicate the work of our programme - this was a pleasantly unexpected outcome!

The animations themselves have really added to our brand awareness and have added a really high-quality suite of multimedia resources to our training initiatives.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow process was highly supportive and collaborative throughout. Communications were quite clear and timelines were concise. It was very impressive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive thing, by far, was how the One Productions team very quickly understood the core messages of our programme, which can sometimes be quite conceptual or nebulous.

They really effectively translated that quick understanding in to the creative process, and as a result, the videos themselves communicate our message really well.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I can't fault One Productions at all!
