Oh 1 Media is doing PPC and SEO. They’ve also researched for us based on our products and the search terms that are relevant to them. 

Their team has been responsible for branded ads on Google Ads and any PPC dynamic bidding that we’re trying to push. This includes driving traffic and lowering our advertising cost of sale (ACoS).

I had a prior company managing our PPC, but it wasn’t easy to get feedback or get in contact with them. One of my friends recommended Oh 1 Media to me and it has been a complete turnaround.

We started working together in September 2020, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When you partner with someone who is an expert in PPC, it’s a quick turnaround to see how numbers change. We’ve made enormous gains when it comes to accounts and driving meaningful traffic, which we can tell by the conversion metrics. 

We’ve increased our traffic up to 20%, and the ACoS has gone down to 10%. These numbers depend on the moment, but we maintain the same budget. Oh 1 Media makes sure that we’re doing the best we can with our ad spend. We’ll be hitting more meaningful users until we drive more results. Our B2B has also gone up by 25%. Their team isn’t completely attributed to that work, but they definitely contribute to it.

How did Oh 1 Media perform from a project management standpoint?

I have no complaints about project management; Oh 1 Media is open to our feedback. Every part of the project is very well-documented and clearly communicated. We communicate through email and Zoom.

If I’m very busy and I have feedback, I can send Oh 1 Media a message or set up a meeting and quickly articulate what I need or want to get done. I’m always sure their team is going to execute the tasks and deliver them in a timely manner, exactly how we lay it out, and get feedback on the direction and collaboration aspects. In addition, if I don’t have more ideas, I know that Oh 1 Media is looking at the day-to-day and making sure that we’re optimizing our campaigns.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s very easy to reach out to Oh 1 Media and give them direction on any changes I want to make. I can rest knowing that they will make our changes and that I don’t have to wait. I have the freedom to either be very involved or trust their team's expertise to do what’s right. It has been a great relationship.

I can’t identify anything off the top of my head that Oh 1 Media could be doing differently. They’re great and a very professional organization.

Don’t try to tell Oh 1 Media what to do, but give their team guidance based on your experience and listen to their feedback and suggestions. Digital marketing is their expertise field, and they’re fantastic at it.

The quality of their services was excellent. In a couple of instances, they helped beyond their scope of work. Oh 1 Media introduced us to a couple of people who could help us from a creative standpoint.

We communicated via email and phone calls. Oh 1 Media internally used a project management platform. They kept tabs on what we needed and completed. We had no issues with their ability to meet deadlines.

Transparency was one highlight of our relationship. As a small company with a limited budget. we always wanted to tackle a project that was beyond our means. We had open dialogues and found solutions with Oh 1 Media that let us accomplish our goals with our financial resources.

I’m the growth marketing lead for Tillable Inc. We’re a startup that helps landowners find farmers to rent the land and we help farmers find land to farm and expand operations.

We had no idea what we were doing with SEO or Google Ads. Our targeted audience is difficult to find online because they’re older. Oh 1 Media helped us establish a foundation on how we’re going to use Google Ads and Facebooks Ads.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They managed about $300,000 in digital ad spend and created a retargeting plan. Whenever people came to our website, we could remarket to those audiences. A lot of it was integrating these third-party resources with our website so we can target our audience. The installed Facebook and Google Pixel and helped set up the creative copy for our ads. They helped with custom audience building; so, we were able to upload our tax database and find people who own farmland instead of using geotargeting. Then they did AB testing.

Digital became our best source for leads after working with Oh 1 Media. We went from maybe 40 leads a month to about 200 leads a month, almost immediately.

How did Oh 1 Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re always on time, and that’s hard to do with digital ads. They were always available and went out of their way to make time for us.

They’re very organized, and I knew exactly what ads were running at all times. If I wanted to stop an ad, they immediately made that change. The documentation and reporting was excellent. They gave me weekly reports and updates on how the ads were doing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their strategy sets them apart. The thinking behind their ads is spot-on. They really got into the business problems that we had and came up with a campaign that suited our needs. Because we were a startup, we needed to find our audience and identify our most valuable customers. They set up an ad test that helped us segment our audience. As a result, we were able to identify which customers were more likely to transact with us. We wouldn’t have been able to do that without their strategy and test.

No, I can’t think of a single thing I’d like them to do differently.

Trust their instincts and knowledge. I would let them do what they do best, which is strategy.

Before our engagement, digital wasn’t really part of our origination mix. Now, it makes up about 20%–25% of our originations. They made really good progress in a crowded field. We weren’t ever satisfied with the status quo because we wanted to constantly test against those theorems. 

How did Oh 1 Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Evan was very hands-on. We were making fine adjustments to our strategy pretty frequently. They were very deliverable-oriented and conscious of our budget. Their team takes a quantitative, metrics-driven approach. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were extremely knowledgeable about their industry and knew how to run an effective campaign. I really appreciated their intellectual curiosity, willingness to test out new ideas, and their ability to ideate on how we could decrease our cost per impression.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There weren’t any glaring gaps in their services. Instead, our relationship grew and evolved as they became more familiar with the business. I’d love to see them continue to grow to offer organic search, social media advertising, and all related analytics.

They were responsive and easy to work with, so I’d recommend trying them out as an alternative to larger agencies. We received a lot of hands-on attention from them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The correlation of success was amazingly empirical. Every time we invested $10 in Facebook ads, we got $100 in sales. It was repeatable and predictable. We duplicated it dozens of times. If we had a budget of $1,000 per day, we could expect $10,000 in sales and so on.

How did Oh 1 Media perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through Slack and spoke on the phone many times. Sometimes, we’d email one another as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Because I was inexperienced with Facebook, I interviewed 5–10 top-tier social media agencies before I hired Evan. He was willing to compromise what he thought were unrealistic monetary goals on my part.

After our first week, he was humble enough to reevaluate and tell me that I was right in my estimate of expected returns. Evan charges so much less than other agencies but got me even better results than what they were promising.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think he undervalues his services. He delivered above and beyond what some of the best agencies could promise. In fact, he never promised me anything, he just said he would try.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear about the specific type of wording you want on the ads. Evan himself doesn’t write the ads; he has others do that. So, when you convey information to Evan, who then conveys it to someone else, it’s like a game of telephone. You don’t always get what you want.

Sometimes I’d go in and tweak the ads myself. I rewrite parts of it when it isn’t precisely what I want. But other than that, it was near perfect.
