Client has engaged Agency to design, develop, and deploy Phase 2 of the Digital Binder Application, evolving the previous Proof of Concept (PoC) into a production-ready multi-role platform. This stage includes secure authentication with role-based permissions, multi-plant management, document audit trails, notifications, and printable/exportable binder generation. The system will support long-term hosting and maintenance aligned with IPIA operational goals. The purpose of this phase is to transform the initial Proof of Concept into a full production-grade Digital Binder Application, expanding its functionality to support a secure, multi-role environment suitable for multiple plants and users under a single organization. The system will introduce differentiated user permissions, including Owner, Plant Manager, and limited-access roles, ensuring proper data governance and operational visibility. Users will be able to upload, view, and manage documents based on their permission level, with all actions tracked and attributed to individual accounts for full accountability. The platform will support management of multiple plants or audits under a single company account, incorporate a shared resource library for templates and reference materials, and allow users to compile and download complete binders as PDF files or individual documents as needed. A lightweight digital signature feature will enable sign-offs on uploaded or completed documents, and notifications will inform stakeholders of pending actions or updates.

Oceans Code Experts has assisted us on the RouteMan side of the business. They're currently looking to replicate and enhance the RouteMan desktop application and port it to be web-based. The app includes all aspects from invoicing to payments, customer management, map-centric dispatching, credit card processing, and QuickBooks online integration.

I’m the former CEO of ConfigureID, a SaaS company that sells an online customization platform. We’ve been recently acquired.

What challenge were you trying to address with Oceans Code Experts?

We needed help with an implementation project for a new client. We needed to put together a customized UX/UI design to build on top of our platform and their e-commerce manufacturing capabilities.

We were looking for a classically trained software engineer with experience with web development. In particular, we needed a software engineer that had worked with web technologies like React, CSS, and JavaScript.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Oceans Code Experts has provided staff augmentation services. They’ve found a development resource and taken care of all the HR aspects of the engagement. We’ve provided the developer with API documentation around our company, the project’s design, and technical documentation specific to the implementation.

We’re working with only one frontend developer.

How did you come to work with Oceans Code Experts?

They reached out to me on LinkedIn. I usually ignore those messages, but we were open to working with a near-shore staff augmentation firm in Latin America. I knew it’d be beneficial to us, so I responded.

We had a good rapport from the initial conversations, so we developed trust in them. Oceans Code Experts understood what we were trying to do, and they were friendly, straightforward, and clear in their communications. Moreover, the parameters of their offer were good. They had a fair rate and checked all of our boxes, so we decided to work with them.

We’ve spent about $50,000 in this project.

We started working with them in June 2022, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The main success is that we’ve launched the project. We’ve also confirmed through our team that their quality is at a good level. All in all, the developer has shown up and done an excellent job; he’s a professional.

How did Oceans Code Experts perform from a project management standpoint?

We manage the work internally through Jira, so we’re able to track on a granular level the tasks we assign to them. We mainly communicate via email, but we sometimes have Zoom calls or use Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We look at two vital aspects when working with a staff augmentation firm. First, we see that they’re trustworthy and we can have good rapport with them. Oceans Code Experts understands us and is good at communicating. Secondly, the main point of the relationship is to add developers to our team. They’ve done that successfully, so they’re a successful partner.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to define the roles that you’re looking to fill in detail. The job description is critical for recruiters to find a good match. Although it’s easy to get lazy with the job description, it’s worth it to invest more effort.

We were looking for GoLang Developers and Mobile Developers to help us build backend and frontend capabilities.

How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?

We used Global Talent Accelerators (GTA) which introduced us to Oceans Code. Oceans had the rapid recruiting capabilities and found the skills rapidly for us. Oceans was also very easy to work with from contracting to execution.

We engaged with one mobile developer, 2 golang developers and one data engineer. They jumped into our existing teams and started picking up tasks from Jira almost day one. They showed strong learning skills and rapid understanding of our business needs. The code quality provided rapidly aligned to our controls and needs. Delivering new code using 2 week Sprints worked very well.

Oceans provided us with resume's for which we down selected a few candidates. We then did a small group interview (My team leads, myself) where we understood their past experience and skill. We then did a screen sharing session to let the candidate code simple examples for us. We only needed to interview but a few candidates to find our matches. Very satisfied.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

These new team members delivered functionality on a sprint basis successfully and demoed these features at our sprint demo's. all capabilities are currently in production use.

They were part of the teams and worked with us seamlessly as if they were permanent employee's.

Their proactive approach in proposing hard-to-find candidates with rare skills to us in short timeframes was amazing. Very flexible and easy to work with.

I cannot say I have much to say on this right now.

Eder was persistent in getting a meeting scheduled. We tried to recruit other developers on our own and it was very troubling.

It was rough getting going, but ultimately the team has tamed the tiger and we are moving forward again. The team has implemented several fail safes to help us upload without taking down the assembly line.
