I’m the Founder & CEO of a small web design firm called WAS Services. We build medium to large projects for businesses that are looking to work on everything from WordPress websites to full-blown applications.

We wanted to build a WordPress website, but we also wanted to build an application layer on top of it to allow us to interact with an API that would give us back quotes on telecom services.

They helped us build a web-based application that would sit on top of a WordPress site. Most of the work involved PHP and JavaScript. They’ve built it so users could interact with the form in a way that was very fluid.

I came across them because I’m part of a networking group. From there, I interviewed their team and felt pretty comfortable with what they’d be able to do. We gave them an initial test budget so they could show what they could do, and they did a great job so we continued.

We’ve spent between $4,000–$6,000. We’ve been building on this over time since in terms of size and the amount it’s been like a side project for me.

The way I measure their success is how quickly they’re able to respond and help us. They make sure everything they do is within scope and don’t charge more than they should. Everything has been fantastic.

We mainly communicate via Skype. We have ad hoc meetings. They are able to quickly respond to our needs and help us when we ask for it.

Their ability to handle strange asks is most impressive. They’re able to track everything we need to see, even if it’s quite difficult. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Most of the time, it’s been a miscommunication on my part or something of that nature. Based on the fact that they’re in India and I’m in the US, sometimes it’s hard to know when they’re out of the office, but that’s natural. In terms of truly improving their processes, I don’t think there is much they could do.

Make sure you have a really solid wireframe before you go and build anything. This way, everyone knows what you’re actually building.

I hired NMG Technologies to build a mobile app for veteran technicians who could use video, audio, images, and diagrams to troubleshoot with the equipment owner. 

The project started off with trying to make the industry more efficient, and then it evolved into developing a DIY service. It also transformed to include residents.

What was the scope of their involvement?

NMG Technologies designed and developed the mobile app and added functionality that enables the client, manager of the gym, or resident to take out their phone and snap a picture of the problem. The team also added a field where users can write a short description of the problem. 

After submitting the serial number, our technicians receive it and start troubleshooting. They created an iOS and Android app, and they built a WordPress website. Additionally, NMG Technologies did some SEO and marketing work.

NMG Technologies was a crucial part of figuring out where we wanted to go with our business because it started off as a pipe dream. Their SEO work helped our Google reach. We’ve seen more traffic to our website, and we went from 1,000 views to abut 3,000–4,000. 

Additionally, we’re listed much higher on Google. Our ROI has already happened within 18 months, and our business is good.

NMG Technologies communicates very well. When they make a mistake they own it, which is great. There have been adverse times, but their true colors have shown, which is the reason I’m still working with them.

I hired them to build out a custom website. We’re a new business with a tremendous amount of funding behind us, acquiring numerous assets at the moment. We had initially used WordPress to get something out there for our clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We put together a business requirement document that NMG Technologies then transformed into a technical document, and ultimately a website. The team used PHP to build it, and they created a periodic table that highlights our minerals in pop-up boxes. 

Additionally, they took our aerial drone footage and incorporated it onto the website so that it auto-plays when users scroll through the pages. They also designed a format for photos that is consistent across all of our advisors and executive management team.

They also created a media and careers section and built the whole system such that we’re able to manage it in-house and update the platform as necessary. We can add articles and videos because they trained us on how to do so.

They were great and got over every hurdle. The team is organized and friendly.

When they weren’t able to hit certain specs, the team was very clear and communicative about it. We communicate via phone, Zoho, and Skype. 

Since they’re in India, we synced up with them at 9 a.m. EST every single day for about two and a half weeks. The team is very interactive and works well with us. When we have change requests, they never complain. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

NMG Technologies delivered exactly what we wanted. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

At first, there were too many teammates doing the work, and we didn’t understand who was doing what. Once they clarified that, everything went well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear with roles and responsibilities on their end right from the beginning. If they had been clear about that from the first day, the project could’ve been completed much quicker.

To develop a platform consistent of a mobile app for customers to find beaut salons, make reservations, and pay in advance for the services. The platform also has a website for salon owners and employees to manage salon employees, as well as the bookings made by customers through the mobile app.

What were your goals for this project?

I wanted to bring in a new idea and digital service to the community, and make their experience in booking and visiting beauty salons simpler and easier.

How did you select this vendor?

My team researched online for the top mobile app and digital software developers. It was key that the vendor should have the capability to create a complete platform or system consisting of multiple hardware and software components, not just a standalone mobile app or website.

The project began by the sharing of thought and ideas with NMG management team, until a final understanding was established. Onwards, multiple meetings took place to discuss specific requirements and expectations, including adding creative design and workflow processes that do not exist in other available apps.

After finishing off the system specifications document, the development phase took place, with weekly meetings reviewing prototypes and making changes in order to align with requirements and expectations.

Team was composed of a founder and enterpenuer, responsible in contacting and managing the completed work by the NMG development team. A couple other team members were responsible to perform customers and users interviews to extract as much requirements as possible.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Near the end of the project completion, Beautify team had shared the design and functionality of the platform and app with many beauty salon representatives and investors. There were big signs of interest in using the platform, with many complements about the unique design (UI/UX) of the mobile app.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The NMG project manager provided their personal number, in order to be able to contact them anytime anywhere. The development team is also very responsive, both to emails and messages, as well as to requirement changes or requirement adjustements.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their impressive capability to create a bespoke mobile app design that does not look like a copy-paste from another mobile app. The development team is very skilled, capable to meet even the most difficult requirements.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The development team need to furthermore improve in communicating when there are unplanned delays or require more time to complete requirements. Meeting set approximate completion dates is very important. Very few times, small details are not done as expected.
