Initially, we had a couple of meetings to discuss my areas of concerns and needs. They effectively came up with a plan and timeline that worked out great! Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I track my advertising very closely and have seen a major increase in website traffic, engagement on social media and they keep my keywords and content very fresh and up to date. Revenue has increased a significant amount in spite of us being closed for 6-8 weeks because of Covid.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates. Overall, I was overly impressed by the process and timeline of the projects.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I am not tech savvy and know nothing about digital marketing or websites. They have been extremely patient and explained the details thoroughly as we work together. I trust them completely and know they will always make a decision that is in the best interest of my business.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I now see between 40–100 leads a day thanks to Nick the Marketer. Even though they don’t all translate into customers due to the nature of my business, most of the inquiries I get are a direct result of Nick the Marketer’s efforts. This has been especially helpful given the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and I’ve continued to receive leads during this time.

I can call Nick any day of the week and he’ll always answer the phone. Even if it takes him a couple of days to address a situation, he remains in contact with me the entire time.

What was the scope of their involvement?

As we’ve changed and evolved, they’ve done several iterations of our website. Their team has made our website more user-friendly so users can directly book our services online. They also do SEO for us. We’ve done some PPC in the past, but not a ton.

Currently, we’re going through a rebrand, and their team started from scratch for it. We used to be on Wix but now we’re moving to WordPress. We’re doing more of a digital marketing plan whereas we previously did face-to-face. Obviously, because of COVID-19, that isn’t effective so they’ve helped us transition into finding leads through Google.

The deliverables have brought more people to our website which has converted to more people scheduling appointments — that’s exactly what we wanted to do.

How did Nick the Marketer perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent. Most times, I’ve been the reason for a hold-up or haven’t been as clear about something I needed. We use Google Drive to share information about the project. We have meetings and correspond through email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re always looking for changes that will benefit their clients, and then they implement them. Other businesses can get stuck doing something the same way for a long time because that’s how it may have worked in the past.

No, there isn’t anything.

Help them understand what you want for your end result, that’ll allow them to engineer the right processes for you. Trust Nick’s team to get a plan together for you.

I am the director of business operations at a construction, home remodeling, and restoration company specializing in fire and water restorations and remodels as well. I am in charge of all of our operations with regard to our vendors, suppliers, and other partners critical to our business.

One of our biggest challenges recently has been trying to branch outside of our main demographic and location. We’re located in Homewood, Alabama, and we have really good SEO here but wanted to work on extending our reach outside of that area.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handle pretty much all of our marketing, from monitoring our website and social media accounts to posting blogs on a regular basis. We work together on the marketing side of things by I prefer to give them ideas and then let them run with it.

A lot of the time, that looks like me telling them about a few of the things that happen on our job sites, because we like to showcase some of the crazy things that happen, like an electrical fire due to a squirrel infestation that caused hundreds of nuts to fall from the ceiling. From there, they come up with content that they can use to help boost our performance on various SERPs.

We work with most of their team, but Hannah (Content Development Manager), Britney (Marketing Strategist), and Nick (Founder) are my main points of contact.

I’ve known Nick for a few years through work that he did in his previous position. My sister also works on his team, but that wasn’t a factor in our decision to hire them. We shopped around a few different agencies at the time, and they really impressed us with their friendliness and willingness to help with just about anything.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our tracking mechanisms have just been established, so we don’t have a lot of hard numbers to give you with regard to the effect of their work. That said, we have had a lot of engagement with their posts, both on our social media and our blog.

People really love seeing the before and after pictures of our work, and that has helped to increase our visibility significantly.

How did Nick the Marketer perform from a project management standpoint?

We email back and forth for the most part, as well as making use of our Dropbox and Drive accounts so that they can get started on things as quickly as possible. Occasionally, they’ll come into our office for a meeting to go over more significant updates or changes, but that doesn’t happen quite as frequently.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are very honest, direct people who actually care about what they do. You can really tell how much they care from the quality of service that they deliver.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing I could suggest improving is that it would be helpful if they followed up with me a little bit more frequently. I’m so swamped with everything going on in our business that it can be a little hard to remember everything we’re doing on the marketing side as well.

Just ask a lot of questions, because they are more than happy to answer any question you might have. The more questions you ask, the better relationship you will be able to establish with their team.

In December, we launched the brand-new site. It’s our third site since we started the company, and it’s blown them all out of the way.

We have a monthly deal for their social media services, where they post three times a week. As far as it goes, we’re trying to get everything in the right direction. Over the next few months, we will have more information to look at and see the impact of their work.

I appreciate having the peace of mind that Nick the Marketer brings. I’m confident that someone is dealing with it effectively. I can’t put a price on that.

How did Nick the Marketer perform from a project management standpoint?

The team at Nick the Marketer communicates very well. They ask me fairly regularly if there’s anything specific that we want to push out there. Michael was involved in all aspects of the project. Everything is handled in a professional way.

It’s hard to see results when it comes to projects like this. But clients have to trust that it’s going to happen eventually. The team at Nick the Marketer has done an excellent job guiding me along the way. They make me feel very comfortable.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I don’t think there’s anyone like them. When I started this process, it took me a while, and I was actually on the verge of hiring another firm that was out of state. I liked what they were doing and their involvement in our industry. But I sat down with Michael.

I could come to his office and knock on his door if I need to. I was completely confident that Nick the Marketer understood my vision. Since I’ve joined them, I’ve seen other people in the business work with them, and they’ve also been pleased.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Right now, I can’t say that there is. I’m very pleased. There’s always room for improvement, but I haven’t seen it with them yet.

If you have any doubts, trust their team because they know what they’re doing. Nick has been doing this for a very long time. Their entire team can go about as high as they want to go in this market. They’re good at what they do.

We’re a physical therapy company that has developed into an all-encompassing rehabilitation business. That includes personal training. We have four locations in Alabama.

We were looking to create a new website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They started out with the build of our website, completely restructuring it for aesthetics and SEO-friendliness. Then, the relationship continued to grow into SEO and advertising. He now handles our marketing and email blasts. For SEO, they were mostly optimizing content we already had. Occasionally, the would create some social media posts for us. However, they were mainly focused on strategy and packaging content to fit that strategy. They provide recommendations on what we should post. We recently got into PPC ads on Google with them and plan to explore that with them moving forward.

What is the team composition?

There are four people on the team that we deal with. Nick (The Marketer, Nick the Marketer) oversees everything and they also provided us with two SEO specialists and a technical lead.

How did you come to work with Nick the Marketer?

One of my friends recommended them to me. We interviewed several companies, but they seemed like the right fit for us. Nick’s knowledge of branding and marketing was impressive and evident when we first met. Initially, I was looking for someone to build our website for us but the relationship grew over time. 

They were a smaller company at the time, and I could see that they were hungry to perform above and beyond for our team.

The website cost about $10,000. Now, we’re on a monthly retainer with them for SEO and social media. That costs about $2,200 each month.

We started the relationship in early 2018, and our collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re very satisfied with their services. They’re available and responsive. Unlike some of our past partners, they’re timely and able to have frank conversations with us. I’ve appreciated the honesty and the responsibility they take on.

They deliver a weekly report to us. Three of our four clinics are rankings as the top physical therapy business in their respective regions. The only one that isn’t is our newest branch that isn’t off the ground just yet. About 60%–75% of our keywords now rank on the first page of Google. We’ve seen an increase in traffic and visitors to our site. That’s increasing steadily.   

How did Nick the Marketer perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re a good, focused team. It seems like they utilize their creativity effectively. Nick is experienced enough in each area to oversee all aspects of the process. They function well as a team. We meet over email or phone as needed. However, we try to touch base in-person on a quarterly basis to review reports.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

We don’t have much experience with competitors, but they’re the best team that we’ve worked with. We set difficult expectations, but they’ve taken our site to the next level. They’ve been willing to work through issues and solve problems.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. There have been a few technological glitches and miscommunications, but we haven’t run into any major issues with them. They’ve fixed all the problems we’ve run into.

Setting expectations and maintaining clear communications will give you the best results. They’re easy to work with, and there can never be too much communication.

I’ve seen an increase in both lead generation and traffic in general. I’ve also seen an increase in the quality of leads. We’ve been able to successfully make adjustments to keywords and sharpen our focus.

They’ve done very well. They take ownership and work with a good mindset. Always clear about what they’re going to do, they communicate well and are responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge of the product and service they provide is impressive. Also, they’re always willing to learn. Michael specifically has been a good driver for working to understand our goals.

I’m sure there’s always room for improvement but there’s nothing specific.

Check on things yourself and give them good feedback because they’re not always going to know if the right leads are coming in. Even if they’re producing leads, they may not be the ones you’re looking for. Communicate with them on the results you’re looking for and that will help them to be more effective. A lot of time can be wasted on wrong leads.

They geofenced my two company locations. They’ve also helped me with Google Ads and have managed my social media. We have a call center that Nick isn’t directly involved with, but, because of the way he set up our phones through Google, he has helped us with accountability for that call center.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Within three months of working with the team, we saw an exorbitant boost in our number one finds on Google and they’ve been steady ever since. There are about 60 number one google searches for one of our two locations thanks to the work that they continue to do. 

Although we haven’t seen huge success with our social media efforts because it hasn’t really been our focus, we’re constantly acquiring new clients.

How did Nick the Marketer perform from a project management standpoint?

We normally have a monthly sit down as per my request for about an hour at our offices or at a cafe. He asks me how things are going, updates me on our progress from the previous month, and checks to see if there’s anything we want to change.

Sometimes during those meetings, he involves another staff member who he’s training or who will eventually help us with our projects. Because I’m a smaller company and have known Nick for so long, I can reach out to him directly whenever I need a task completed. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

He gives good advice and always asks for feedback. When I ask him to update something, he typically does it within 24–48 hours, which isn’t the case with other companies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think he should’ve delegated some of the tasks. Just like me, his team is undergoing some growth and it would’ve been helpful for him to understand where he is limited in his time. I am one of his first clients so he has been getting better at this.

Make sure you get to know the team. They’re a really powerful group of go-getters. Have a sit-down chat with them and understand all the resources that are available to you. If you communicate well, they will accommodate your needs.
