I'm the head of project excellence for an e-commerce development agency.

What challenge were you trying to address with NFQ Technologies?

We reached out to NFQ Technologies for development support on various client projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

NFQ Technologies works on different client projects as needed, providing web development support mostly involving Django, Python, JavaScript, CSS, and other languages. They've also helped us maintain open source projects internally as well. 

What is the team composition? 

We work with about three developers and a project manager.

How did you come to work with NFQ Technologies?

They're one of our go-to, trusted partners. We considered other vendors, but ultimately felt they were the best fit. 

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested over $300,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with them since early 2018, and the contract is set to wrap up in June 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've received very positive reviews from clients regarding the updates and work they've done. NFQ Technologies has been very professional throughout the engagement, helping us better serve our clients in the process. 

How did NFQ Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very proactive, timely, and structured in their approach. They're also easy to talk to and responsive to any feedback we have. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like that their company isn't too big, so they're able to provide a lot of personal attention and time with their clients at an affordable rate. Their team is very talented and easily grasps client requirements. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing specific comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Their team will take the time to listen to client needs in order to develop the best solutions, but it helps to provide clear requirements.

I’m the product manager for an export logistics company that specializes in shipping automobiles overseas.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with NFQ Technologies?

We hired them to build our enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for our day-to-day operations. Our previous off-the-shelf system was too generic for our needs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Everything was custom-designed from scratch. In terms of the architecture, the backend was built using SmartClient and the front end was built with Symphony. The system handles things accounting, order management, and client management. It’s designed to automate some of our processes and keep everything synced properly. For accounting, there are auto-exports into QuickBooks. The system also allows our international agents to connect using an API key so that we can transfer data securely.

Based on the success of this partnership, which has gone on for several years now, we’ve added tracking and e-commerce projects as well.

What is the team composition?

There were seven people initially, but now it’s down to five.

How did you come to work with NFQ Technologies?

We worked with a couple of other companies first, but quickly realized their skills were too limited to help us, so we started looking for someone who could see us through the entire development process.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2014, and our collaboration is still ongoing. We’ve also added new projects with them in addition to this one.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We continually ask our employees for feedback so that we can make improvements. Since we built this system from scratch, there are times we’ll realize that we need to implement additional features or change the way existing ones function.

How did NFQ Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I handle most of those tasks for this project. We have daily meetings and we can contact them immediately whenever we need something.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They deliver good quality work and they complete it quickly. There aren’t too many bugs that need fixing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’d be nice if they did more of their own project management, but having someone from our team handle that helps since we know our organization best, so it’s hard to say.

No, not at the moment.
