We had a clear scope with deliverables, dates and budget and we were tracking agains those. Team delivered within agreed timeline and also within pre agreed budget.

As netvor is software development house, they have good development hygiene and processes (e.g. scope definition, pre-release QA, etc.) which unfortunately many smaller web studios do not have properly in place. And that is why we picked them, because we know they can deliver high quality outcomes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something NETVOR could have done differently?

For the first project we were collaborating via gdocs which worked, but this can be improved. For the upcoming projects we agreed to work in Jira, which should streamline the collaboration. It was great to see how quickly Netvor responded to feedback and they had no issues to change the approach.

The initial agreement has been to conduct a simple POC, without which the entire project would be a no-go. Throughout the POC development, it was obvious that the goal can be reached, and we have initiated the actual full project development, prior to the POC officially completing. 

As the project scope had less unknowns, we selected to pursue a waterfall approach. Among the deliverables were: documentation of POC and project SOW, UI/UX design, front end development (prototype+end product), back end development, desktop application development to server as middleware.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• We have see consistency in behavior throughout the project. The Netvor team either provided deliverables that we could see, review and provide feedback on, or they came back with questions and concerns, so it can be discussed and resolved in a meeting. This is the only way to have any success with projects, which are done by an outsourcing company.

Some items were delivered ahead of schedule, some on-time and other items were delivered late. This is by far not a parameter for success or failure, as all timelines are estimates. The most important part is constant and consistent communication to ensure all parties are on the same page on status and next steps. The Netvor team has been incredibly good with communication, critical thinking and management of the project itself.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I found that they are not afraid to speak their mind, even if it does not go hand in hand with what the customer wants/needs. They are always courteous, polite, straightforward, and practical. They want to get the job done and take ownership of the project, as if it is their own.

Are there any areas for improvement or something NETVOR could have done differently?

There can be improvement everywhere. But, based on my past experiences with out outsourcing companies, Netvor are a couple of levels above the rest.

I am the product manager of the weekly magazine Respekt, which is part of the media house Economia based in Prague.

For what projects/services did your company hire NETVOR, and what were your goals?

We established cooperation with the NETVOR studio on the redesign of our website. The main goal was to rewrite the frontend in connection with the new content management system Contember. Respekt has been a subscription-oriented medium throughout its existence since its foundation in 1989.

And together with the change in the editorial system, we also decided to change the strategy. We are extending the paywall to most of the content that the newsroom produces. The new frontend of the website and e-shop also had to deal with this.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We chose Studio NETVOR on the recommendation of our CMS provider. The decisive factor was the initial meetings where we confirmed that we have a similar mindset and that all three parties are very interested in working together.

We had set the basic goals and budget from the beginning. We started from the existing Respekt website, which we updated in selected parts. We collaborated on design proposals in Figma. Subsequently, we transformed all meetings and documents into entries in JIRA. Next.js was used for development.

The key contact was the project manager and lead developer. We were also in contact with two other developers and a UX designer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It is too early to evaluate with hard metrics. However, the first reactions of the editors and our readers are already positive, and thanks to the rewrite of the frontend, we managed to solve many long-term problems of our original website, which was built on customized Wordpress.

We were in regular contact with the project manager, who recruited individual people from his team into communication when needed. The main communication channels were Slack, Google Meet and JIRA.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The new website, combined with the new CMS, allows us to be much more flexible than before. At the same time, we have a professional studio at our disposal, which is able to solve problems and develop the website according to our needs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

From other projects, I am used to being in more direct contact with developers and concentrating more on development, even at the cost of poorer project planning and testing from the developer side. However, I understand that for the NETVOR studio, with the number of projects and the emphasis on quality, it is necessary to manage everything better, which has an impact on higher costs in these areas.

BigMedia is the largest provider of outdoor advertising panels on the Czech outdoor advertising market. I am currently working as a Plakatov project manager. Plakatov is eshop owned by BigMedia company and offers unique sale of outdoor panels.

Plakatov.cz, the largest online marketplace with billboards in the Czech Republic, thanks to NETVORWe received a well-deserved upgrade after several years. We hired NETVOR as we needed to introduce modern look, which should also bring clients an optimized user experience and billboard purchase in a few clicks.

We have decided to choose czech development studio NETVOR in the development of the new version because it has been maintaining and developing the website for a long time and we do have the best experiences with them.

Working withNETVOR was great and quick, because they know the Plakátov in detail. Thanks to this, we did not have to worry about the implementation and technical details, as we knew that Netvor is autonomous. Netvor started to develop it based on wireframes and the designs were delivered gradually on the fly, thanks to which we had time to tweak and iterate the entire visual and website content.

I have worked in total with two of them. one of them was head of delivery (supervisor) and the second one was a project manager.

We have launched new website in June and so far we do not have any measurable outcomes.

We had communicate on daily basis, including emails, phone call and conferences calls even with others suppliers. I do consider the communication as perfect and I can higly recommend it.

I do not have a comparism as this was my first project of a this kind but I would point out how professional they were and also introduced their own solution to the mentioned problems.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I do not think so. I was completely satisfied with their work.

We wanted to replace an existing iOS application that was not supported anymore. The app's function is to automatize the uploading and sorting of in-office patient clinical pictures. With the help of the app, once taken with a phone, pictures are automatically sorted and uploaded to the relevant patient file in a subsequent dental software.

We already had experience with NETVOR prior to this project - they were doing the development of some of our company websites. The collaboration was good so we were not looking for any other vendors with this project.

First step was to define the functionality of the app, as we were replacing an existing app we drew inspiration from that and added some improvements. Subsequently there was a round of UI and graphics approval, followed by the development itself. Last and longest stage was testing (live in our clinic on limited amount of patients).

A project manager and one developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since going live, we have not registered any issues with the app. Staff also reviews this app to be significantly better than the previous - overall user-friendliness and mainly no bugs during use.

For communication we used mainly emails and reviews on figma. Everything was always timely and our feedbacks were incorporated promptly.

I appreciate that despite it being a relatively small project/development, NETVOR didn't make us feel this and approached this with absolute professionality.

Well our clients are happy to see our new website and be able to track the vast amount of projects we've done in the past.

Everything went smoothly, we just needed to create and deliver all the assets which took some time, but once all that out of the way it was pretty straight forward.

I really liked how flexible and fast they were. We already future-proofed our investment by working on a platform that is somehow user-friendly.

Not much to improve, just sometimes we got a bit lost in translation but nothing major.

The first users are using the product and the user base is slowly expanding. The application is running smoothly and is ready for expansion in the direction the market will show us.

Communication was seamless and all our requests were handled quickly and efficiently. As well as continuous changes to the scope of the project and individual functions.

A human approach and the effort to always find the most effective solution to a given problem. If necessary, to point out any problems that may arise.

Somewhere we would appreciate advice within the context of the whole product not just a specific part of it. But I believe this was not a frequent problem and the overall result was satisfactory.

I'm the business application manager for La Lorraine Bakery Group. La Lorraine Bakery Group (LLBG) is a company headquartered in Belgium, with more than 80 years of experience in the milling and bakery sector.

Netvor built the website for one of our brands (La Lorraine) a few years ago. However, in the past year there has been a rebranding of the brand, so we also had to re-align the website with the new brand identity.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Netvor built our website in the past. So it made sense to go back to Netvor for the rebranding of the website. We are also very satisfied with the collaboration with Netvor, also for other projects of la Lorraine Bakery Group.

Initially, another creative agency provided the initial designs. After all, that creative agency was responsible for the rebranding exercise. In addition, the creative agency had developed a style guide. In a meeting with Netvor, the initial design was explained, as well as the styleguide, the objective of the project and the expected launch date. On this basis Netvor worked out a more detailed proposal (budget + detailed timeline). After approval Netvor delivered the first web designs based on the supplied material. This proposal was again coordinated with the creative agency. And after a number of iterations the new designs were implemented on the staging environment. The new content was also added to this environment and the site was tested. Once everything was in order, the project was launched to production.

On the Netvor side, there were about 4 people involved in the project. The CEO of Netvor was also very closely involved in each phase.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We received a lot of positive feedback internally from various stakeholders. In each feedback, the new site was seen as an improvement over the previous site. This is partly due to the rebranding in general, but also to the way in which Netvor was able to reconcile the style guide, the design proposals of the creative agency and the possibilities of the current website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their response time is very fast. Communication with NETVOR is mainly through Jira, which keeps everything well-structured and contextual. The predetermined deadline was respected.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am particularly delighted with the smooth way of working together, the fast response time and the way Netvor was able to reconcile our wishes and the creative agency's proposals with the possibilities of the existing website/technology.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think we can avoid some iterations by delineating the responsibilities of the creative agency and the web agency a little better.

Fondee is an online platform that allows users to invest in ETFs by automating their investments according to their risk profile. I am a CTO - a person responsible for all the development activities.

For what projects/services did your company hire NETVOR, and what were your goals?

We had a substantial challenge ahead of us. Fondee has been aspiring for a higher-tier trading license for quite some time. This license, which Czech National Bank has awarded, would allow Fondee to begin the next period of its growth as it enabled us to offer more smooth and complex services to our clients. The side effect of this transition was also the ability and need to change the broker that Fondee was using and contain some of their responsibility. This change has had vast and structural consequences to our online platform.

After a few years of development with other vendors, we've decided to start from scratch and rewrite the whole project with someone experienced that would be both reliable and able to scale up such a fast-growing project. We have already validated our market fit, time to build robust foundations has come and we needed a strong partner.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were connected with one of our team members who had a previous experience with NETVOR. Before we decided to work with them, several intensive workshops helped us understand if we could work together and deliver on time. NETVOR proposed a timeline and a budget that was not exactly according to our initial expectations but we had a good feeling that they could provide the output we were looking for, and we had trust in their experience.

We really appreciated their honest communication. They did not promise anything that they knew they could not deliver. Such an attitude turned out to hold throughout our cooperation. We knew what we were getting and what to expect.

The main goal was to rewrite the whole system to prepare it for a new broker. Most of the work was on the backend, where most of the operations were happening. The scope was divided into several smaller projects, each project covering part of the main functionality. We began with partially rewriting the frontend, preparing the architecture, preparing the data structure model, and documenting all the functionalities.

As preparing the documentation was a long process, we decided to code the backend step by step. Once most of the backend core functionality worked, it was time to prepare the API and implement it with the frontend. Then we had to do the most crucial part - connect to the new broker. It was not an easy task because of the strict deadline and not much time for testing and debugging. But in the end, there was not a significant issue we had to face. We decided to rewrite the frontend with React.JS and the backend with PHP (Nette Framework).

We communicated mainly with a project manager who has been the go-to person for everything. If there was a need for technical consultations, the project manager set up a meeting with a needed team member who participated in the project. Apart from the project manager, we were in touch with the account manager, who cared for our business. The development team covered backend, frontend, QA, and release management.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Because we had a strict deadline from our previous broker, we had to move quickly in a relatively short period. After the analysis, NETVOR proposed to divide the project into smaller projects that should be deliverable in one month. That allowed us to measure our progress, so if we could not provide the functionality in the small project, we still could in the next one, or we could change or decide not to do it. In the end, we were able to launch the project on time with all the crucial modules which was a success.

The one thing I appreciate the most is the delivery process - 99% of the functionality we tested was ready for production release. Although just a tiny percentage of functionality had some minor issues. It was a huge step forward for our team because we didn’t have to spend so much time resolving bugs. Instead, we could have focused on preparations for the launch.

Once we agreed on the project scope, we gained access to NETVOR Slack to quickly communicate with the team allocated to our project. We used Atlassian tools: JIRA for project management, Confluence for documentation, Bitbucket as a Git repository, and Tempo for time tracking. The project manager played a crucial role for us and helped us a lot during the project preparation and daily project management. As I described, we planned the monthly projects that were estimated before the development started so we knew if we could make it for one month or not.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

As we've had some bad experiences with other developers, we really appreciate NETVOR's professionalism, honest communication, precise budgeting, and quality work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes, NETVOR didn’t deliver the small projects on time, but we understand that the output’s complexity was more complicated, so the estimations couldn’t always be 100% precise.

For what projects/services did your company hire NETVOR, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a mobile app mainly for our existing clients to use as another channel to access their client accounts, check their portfolio balances and perform certain actions with their investment portfolios. The goal was to pretty much replicate the web UI and wrap it into a mobile app, thus bringing us closer to our clients.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected Netvor mainly due to the fact that they had built the web platform. So they were already familiar with our graphic style, our client base and the overall product.

The app was built in Flutter as a cross-platform solution for iOS and Android. We wanted to keep things simple and did not want to maintain two separate code bases. We decide on an MVP scope, that would mirror our existing web-based client zone, without any additional bells and whistles. This was supposed to serve as a proof of concept and to see if the clients really used the app.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had a PM on their side, who covered the web development as well as the mobile app. And then a dedicated Flutter developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have seen a massive surge in numbers after the launch. At this time, close to 60 % of our clients use the app to access their client zone. The overall feedback was positive, with certain repetitive complaints. They were concerned mainly with the login process, which was not sufficiently streamlined / specified in the MVP. We have since rectified some of the bigger issues with some minor ones remaining on the backlog.

We have known each other with the PM for a long time so it made the communication easy and effective. We mainly used Slack. The project management itself was handled using Jira and Confluence. The timeline was a bit of a problem because of limited capacities. We only had one Flutter developer and he had other obligations (with us as well as with other clients). The MVP scope took about 3 weeks to prepare, the development itself about 10 and another 8-10 weeks of the review process, which made us quite frustrated at the end.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We decided on Netvor because of the good work they had been doing for us previously with web development. We haven't had many issues with bugs so the overall quality of the work is at a high level. They are easy to talk to (not only the developers but the management also) and flexible in their approach.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

One thing we have found challenging was the timeline and related expectation management. The overall client expectations could have been managed better and with a greater emphasis on the review process and associated costs. Also, resource allocation is something we have been struggling with, but I understand Netvor's position.
