**Feedback Summary**: Functionality delivered by NERDZ LAB has brought in large end-clients and roughly half-a-million users. They deliver ahead of time and always adhere to the established budget. Customers can expect a communicative partner that doesn't require excessive iterations to hit design requirements.
""They’re one of the best vendors I’ve come across." "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a health and wellbeing organization specializing in fitness, mental health, mindfulness, nutrition, and motivation.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NERDZ LAB?

They helped us with mobile app development and website creation. We’ve been going through a process of redesigning and redeveloping our app and web platform, which they developed initially. The app is for Android and iOS.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Starting with the app development, they’re working using Laravel and have developed admin panels. The frontend was done natively, and the web platform was done in React. We’re halfway through the rebuild.

The website is built from scratch as well. We’re going to be developing a web app version of the mobile app in the future, as well as releasing a frontend marketing website.

The user-facing website they’re creating is very straightforward; there aren’t many components or pages to them. We’re also building a secondary website that interacts with the app.

We lead the UX/UI, but they give input during review. They manage all the maintenance.

What is the team composition?

We have four dedicated Android and iOS developers:  two that act as project managers and two that are QA resources. Overall, there are ten people working on the product.

How did you come to work with NERDZ LAB?

We bought a platform that NERDZ LAB had originally developed so we came back to update it in this project. Their team is very proactive and stays in front of the technology world, recommending what we should or shouldn’t do based on their experience.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $500,000–$1 million. The total is around $35,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since February 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve partnered with some large organizations using the work and the functionality that NERDZ LAB has developed. In fact, a large telecom group is going to launch one of our projects to half a million users.

I’m 100% satisfied with the work they’ve completed.

How did NERDZ LAB perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly calls and a Slack channel to interact with the development team. We’re communicating every day at the moment.

They’re always on time and on budget, and sometimes even a few weeks ahead of the timeline.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their strong point is their communication skills. When you’re building projects of this scale and describing what you want and see, it’s easy to get a bit lost and end up not delivering the right thing. This leads to a cycle of rebuilding and wasting time. NERDZ LAB is very thorough in their technical specifications of our requirements. Their first iteration is usually pretty close to what we need — just a few tweaks are all it needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know, actually. They’re one of the best vendors I’ve come across.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that they have a strong understanding of what you want to build and give them the information they need to achieve your specifications.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? In terms of measurable outcomes that demonstrate the success and progress of the project, I can highlight the following:1. Improved Performance – Performance has significantly improved since the first iteration of our website, resulting in faster load times and a smoother user experience.2. On-Time Delivery – All agreed-upon project milestones and deliverables were completed on time, contributing to a predictable and efficient development process.3. Infrastructure Upgrade – The successful migration from Firebase to a more robust AWS infrastructure (with MongoDB) has enhanced system scalability, reliability, and maintainability needed for an enterprise-grade solution.4. Business Growth – The platform has grown substantially in terms of functionality, which has directly contributed to securing new business deals and expanding our customer base.5. Proactive Communication – Communication throughout the project was consistent and timely, with the team demonstrating proactive engagement - even outside of regular working hours - which greatly contributed to project momentum and trust. Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? This made collaboration smooth and transparent compared to shops where the devs stay hidden. NERDZ LAB’s directness brings with it an air of openness and honesty which really stood out— in addition to taking full ownership of the work, they managed all associated risks with integrity and accountability seldom found in this market. The quality and speed of their work were also outstanding, especially when compared to other vendors we've worked with. Their proactive approach and valuable suggestions on specific user flows played a key role in shaping and delivering a successful product – often correcting or improving on our external UX/UI designs. One particularly unique and valuable aspect of their offering was the fractional CTO service. Since we weren't in a position to hire a full-time CTO at the time, this was incredibly helpful. He was actively involved in both the technical and business sides of our operations and has had a significant impact on our product decisions and overall strategic direction. Are there any areas for improvement or something NERDZ LAB could have done differently?Nothing fundamental that I can think of.

The developer focused on optimising the backend infrastructure to ensure smooth, continuous data integration for wealth management.Frontend Development:User Interface Enhancements: Our frontend developer worked on enhancing the user interface of our platform, introducing new front-end capabilities and improving the overall user experience.WealthOS Data Handling: They also handled the visualization and presentation of WealthOS data, ensuring that complex data sets were displayed clearly and effectively for end users. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? We structured the project using agile methodology, running in two-week sprints with daily stand-ups to track progress. This gave us clear visibility into deliverables and velocity throughout the engagement.Key measurable outcomes included:Sprint Delivery Tracking: We were able to measure progress through sprint boards, which clearly showed completed vs. pending tasks. This helped us quickly identify and resolve blockers.On-Time Completion of Milestones: Specific deliverables were defined at the outset of the 3-month engagement, and we successfully delivered all critical tasks within that timeframe, including:Completion of the WealthOS backend integrationDeployment of new frontend features and UI enhancementsHandling and visualisation of WealthOS data in the front endImproved System Functionality: By the end of the project, we had a working system that was integrated, testable, and user-ready — a clear outcome of successful backend and frontend collaboration. The structure and communication cadence allowed us to stay on track and ensured that all priority items were delivered as scoped.Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs? The team at Nerdzlab followed a structured and transparent approach to project management. We worked in two-week sprints with daily stand-ups, which allowed for continuous communication, regular updates, and early identification of any blockers. They consistently delivered sprint items on time and kept us informed if any timelines needed to shift due to scope changes or technical complexity. Tasks were clearly tracked and prioritised, and they were proactive in managing workloads to ensure key milestones were met by the end of the 3-month project. They were also highly responsive to our needs — whether it was refining priorities mid-sprint, clarifying technical decisions, or jumping on ad-hoc calls to resolve issues. Their flexibility and communication made the collaboration smooth and productive. What was your primary form of communication with NERDZ LAB?Virtual MeetingEmail or Messaging AppWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company? What stood out most about Nerdzlab was the high calibre of the individual developers we worked with. Both the backend and frontend engineers were not only technically strong, but also showed real ownership over their work.Backend Developer: Demonstrated deep understanding of complex integration work — the WealthOS integration involved nuanced data handling, and they delivered it with precision and reliability.Frontend Developer: Had a great eye for detail and user experience. They didn’t just implement designs — they made thoughtful suggestions to improve how data was presented, especially with the WealthOS output.Overall, their ability to quickly understand a domain as specific as wealth management and deliver production-ready features with minimal hand-holding was particularly impressive. It felt like having experienced in-house engineers embedded in our team. Are there any areas for improvement or something NERDZ LAB could have done differently? As there wasn’t a dedicated QA function, the developers relied on us to carry out testing after code was pushed. While this setup worked overall, it did mean a few issues only surfaced during our internal testing. A bit more rigorous self-testing before handover would have reduced the feedback loop and sped up final delivery. That said, any bugs we did find were addressed quickly and professionally, and the team remained responsive throughout.

We worked with 3 iOs developers, 2 Android developers and one QA. One of the iOs and one of the Android developers became the Team Leads for both of our projects.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

During the 6 month period that we worked with NerdzLab, our company has grown tremendously. With their help, we went from having an MBP for one app and a rough draft for the second app, to fully launching both of our products on the market. We still keep working with them and right now are focused on growing and scaling our products.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We were following a Scrum methodology in our project. We conducted a sprint planning, daily scrums and retrospectives with all of our developers throughout the project. We constantly communicated via Slack and tracked all our progress on Jira boards. It was always easy to communicate with the Nerdzlab team. Moreover, NerdzLab developers were always eager to offer their ideas and solutions. Because of this open communication we were always able to meet our deadlines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The professionalism of the NERDZ LAB team has definitely impressed me the most. Everyone is very skilled, they work well in a team, everyone has a very good level of English. What is more, I was impressed that the NerdzLab team would always want to take the project a one step further. They showed that they truly care about the project and were always willing to offer suggestions and solutions based on their experience. It really helped our company avoid some mistakes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

**Feedback Summary**: The solutions received an NPS of 70 as well as positive feedback from its user testing phase. NERDZ LAB led regular meetings and kept the client in the loop at all times, allowing for a transparent workflow. Their efficiency, effective communication, and top-notch work quality stood out.
"“I was most impressed with the efficiency and quality of work of NERDZ LAB’s developers.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the acting chief of staff and strategic project manager of a corporate wellness and e-health software company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NERDZ LAB?

We needed a company that could help us build our new coaching product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

NERDZ LAB developed four interconnected software systems, which include a mobile app for iOS and Android, a web tool, and an admin panel. The solutions allow our users to browse and book one-on-one sessions with expert coaches.

NERDZ LAB created the whole user experience, from visualizing features, browsing through coaches, using different filters, and scheduling. They also implemented a multilingual feature as well as an audio and video integration for conducting coaching sessions through the app.

Additionally, they created the web tool, which allows our coaches to manage their profiles and set up their own appointments. They also built an admin panel where we can manage things on our end.

As for the web app and admin panel, NERDZ LAB took care of their design. They also provided our internal UX and product design team with guidance in terms of the mobile app’s design.

We're still discussing continuing the work NERDZ LAB to implement some additional improvements.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 8–9 people from NERDZ LAB, but my main point of contact was their business manager.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around €50,000 (Approximately $53,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project from October 2021–February 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve done user testing, and we’ve seen an NPS of 70, which we’re really happy with. We’ve also received very positive feedback from the people who have tried the app out, and we haven’t noticed any big bugs so far.

How did NERDZ LAB perform from a project management standpoint?

NERDZ LAB performed well in terms of project management. We had a bi-weekly meeting, and we worked closely with their CTO, who was involved in many of our meetings. They did a great job of keeping us in the loop about the status of the deliverables. We ended up adding quite a few new things to the scope, so we extended the project deadline for about a month.

We used ClickUp for project management and Slack and email for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with the efficiency and quality of work of NERDZ LAB’s developers. I really appreciated how they stuck by the timelines that we established and communicated effectively throughout the project. They responded to all of my messages immediately, and I never felt like I didn’t know what was going on in the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I haven’t seen any issues with the solutions’ functionality. Overall, I think they did an incredible job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to have weekly meetings with them and to provide them with a lot of sample designs in terms of what you’re looking to achieve.

**The Review** — Apr 27, 2022

**The Review** — Apr 27, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Every time NERDZ LAB’s releases a new feature, the client sees an increase in memberships, downloads, and overall usability of the app. The team provides an excellent service, and they stand out for their understanding approach. They manage the project seamlessly and are responsive partners.
"“They understand what we’re trying to do, and the team creates the best product from that understanding.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO of a group of wellness companies. We have fitness clubs, apps, and live sporting events. I lead the operations side for the Fitness, Nutrition, and Wellness division.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NERDZ LAB?

We inherited NERDZ LABZ when we took over a skeleton app that wasn’t really working. They had a lot of technology that we hadn’t managed before, so we’ve worked with them ever since.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

NERDZ LAB has built the app from scratch using React Native. We initially reinvented the platform when it came under our management. Now, we’re constantly developing and improving the video player, profile section, app’s feed, explore page, and more. They’ve added a step counter, and we’ve worked on big projects. For example, they’ve created a Huawei app with a code that they hadn’t worked with before.

What is the team composition?

We have eight people on the team, including a project manager, an assistant project manager, two QA people, an iOS developer, an Android developer, and two backend engineers.

How did you come to work with NERDZ LAB?

They built the app that we bought, so we decided to keep them and see how they did.

How much have you invested with them?

We have a retainer of £35,000 (approximately $44,000 USD) per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in September 2018, and our relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen an increase in download numbers. Every time we release a feature or make an improvement, we see a slight increase in the usability and retention of our subscribers. For example, they did an integration with body scan technology, and we had an increase in memberships and downloads when the technology went live.

How did NERDZ LAB perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent. The response time is immediate, and they bring in more people as it’s needed. We usually communicate through Slack; we have different teams for different topics. I think that’s why we have such a good response.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our previous tech team was more about the money than improving the service. Meanwhile, NERDZ LAB actually looks at the problem and doesn’t try to make the job more complicated. They understand what we’re trying to do, and the team creates the best product from that understanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there isn’t anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Use Slack and build a relationship with the project manager.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NERDZ LAB?

We needed someone to build our mobile app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

NERDZ LAB developed our mobile app for iOS using geolocation and created a dashboard for it. The app's primary goal is to have a social aspect to the different reviews we make to the public places. They also help with the DevOps strategy and releasing the app into the App Store. We launched the first version of the app, and now we’re just cleaning up and preparing for the public release.

What is the team composition?

We’ve tested and used the app with beta testers, and the feedback and reviews have been a success. We distributed the app through specific testers, and the response has helped us clean up the product for the initial release — now we know that users are engaged.

How did NERDZ LAB perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is responsive, and we have a direct communication channel with them; whenever we encounter specific things, we let them know, and they’re very communicative with us. We can also hop in a meeting quickly and discuss the problem, get it fixed, or offer other solutions — it’s been a great experience. We like that they’re always discussing the issues with us, and if something's going to take more time or money, they provide justification and explanation — we can trust them. In terms of tools and communication, we use Jira, YouTrack to manage the bugs, Slack, Google Hangouts, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They work agilely and do a good job communicating, and they could involve the other team members in more meetings. They invited them into a few sessions, but all release and bug discussions meetings should include the other developers or team members.

**Feedback Summary**: NERDZ LAB is instrumental in helping their client’s products go live. Internal stakeholders are happy with the collaboration thus far, too. NERDZ LAB a collaborative team that delivers on time and on budget. They're a diligent vendor that works around the clock to meet project deliverables.
"“They’re a fantastic team, and I’m absolutely blessed to have found NERDZ LAB.”

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of a digital marketing and development consultancy in the UK.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NERDZ LAB?

We had challenges expanding our development team during the pandemic. I wanted to find a more flexible way of scaling our team, and we started looking for partners that could function as outsourced members of my team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked with them on two platforms. On one project, we did the UI/UX design, and NERDZ LAB did the front-and backend technical development.

On the second project, we did the design and frontend development, and NERDZ LAB built the backend. They were completely integrated into our team.

What is the team composition?

We’ve had two people from NERDZ LAB on each project, and I’m working with three of them daily, including a project manager.

How did you come to work with NERDZ LAB?

I found them through LinkedIn, and I had a really good conversation with NERDZ LAB’s founder and one of their senior developers. We had some initial tests and conversations, and I got them involved in a project once I was comfortable. It went really well, so we continued from there.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent several tens of thousands of dollars.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with NERDZ LAB in June 2020, and our work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The products wouldn’t have gone live without NERDZ LAB’s work. I’m very happy with the output, and my team is very happy with the working relationship, which is the most important thing. They’re extremely open and collaborative. I can’t fault them. They’re a fantastic team, and I’m absolutely blessed to have found NERDZ LAB.

How did NERDZ LAB perform from a project management standpoint?

I’d like to bring them to the UK and work with them full time, but there’s no need, obviously. This has been a pandemic-friendly relationship, where everything’s been remote. Most of my team is working remotely in this current environment. So, in effect, it’s the same with NERDZ LAB as with the rest of the team.

They deliver on time and on budget, within the realms of what’s sensible. Projects change and budgets change, but NERDZ LAB is a very good resource from a financial point of view.

We talk to them every day, via either WhatsApp calls, Google Meet, or Slack. We use Trello boards collaboratively for activity management and scheduling.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their willingness to let their team effectively become part of our team stands out. Their openness to collaborate and communicate quickly and freely is also great.  They’re always willing to go beyond the call of duty; if we need NERDZ LAB to work long hours to get something done, they’ll get it done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m very pleased with NERDZ LAB .

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Be as open with them as possible. NERDZ LAB understands the pressures and motivations that drive customer decisions, so they can actually add value and not just do what they’re asked.

Project Manager, TNP Fiscaaladvies
- Industry: Business services

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Apr 27, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: NERDZ LAB thoroughly checked the company's products before proceeding. Through their communication on Slack, the vendor was able to provide productive feedback for the company's ideas. Their consideration, generosity for information, and communication skills were most regarded by the firm.

""The workflow was so efficient and effective that I couldn't believe that working with anyone can be this easy."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We are a Dutch company based in Rijswijk, which provides tax advisory mainly to Eastern-European expats that reside in The Netherlands. Currently, we are a team of ten people. Myself, I am a Project Manager, who is responsible for planning, execution and managing the resources of any project ongoing within our company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire NERDZ LAB?

We hired NERDZ LAB to create a mobile app, which would allow our clients to complete their tax statements entirely from their mobile devices. So far, there is no such product available on the market within our niche. The main challenge of the project was to make a rather complicated task (filling the tax return) as simple as possible for our customers.

What were your goals for this project?

Our main goal was to create a product, which would make the administrative lives of our customers much easier. Furthermore, as a company that has been active on the market for more than 10 years, we were willing to launch a product, which would stand out on the market. As a result, we are willing to ensure a future growth of our customer base thanks to innovative approach that we enhance.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select NERDZ LAB?

First, a year before the project was actually started, I posted a project offer on upwork.com. A person from NERDZ LAB reached out. In the end, due to some practical issues on our side, we were not able to proceed with the project for the time being. However, the portfolio presented by NERDZ LAB stayed on my mind.

Once we were finally ready to start the project, the first thing I did was reaching out directly to NERDZ LAB to ask if they could help us with app development. The answer was positive, so we were ready to start.

Describe the project in detail.

After presenting an example of an online form, which our app was supposed to based on, we have received the pricing. After that, we adjusted the project to the budget that we had. Already here, I really appreciated the openness of NERDZ LAB to adjust the product to our needs and the resources that we had.

What really struck us a lot, was the fact, that the NERDZ LAB team had run countless tests on the form available on our website, to understand the logic themselves, instead of waiting for a ready scratch received from us. This is the type of initiative that you rarely come across.

Once we started the project, we had weekly calls to discuss the progress and adjust the very last details. In the end, we developed first an Android app only, since that was the most rational solution looking at our website's statistics. Also, there were relatively very few deliverables that I was responsible for (absolutely many less than I expected).

What was the team composition?

I was assigned to a dedicated Slack channel, where I mainly communicated with our Project Manager and a person responsible for Customer Relationship. Sometimes, yet very rarely, I had to contact someone else directly (e.g. a developer). However, my main contact person was our Project Manager, who was just a great bridge between our organisation and NERDZ LAB. He was always there for me and willing to help with any issue that we came across.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thanks to NERDZ LAB, we have launched a product that no one else has to offer within our market. So far, we have collected a thousand of users (even though we are already past the peak period in our branch). So far, we have heard only positive feedback from clients who have used the app. Everyone loves the simplicity of the design and the intuitiveness of the app.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was so efficient and effective that I couldn't believe that working with anyone can be this easy. Since the very beginning, everyone at NERDZ LAB was open for ideas, feedback and negotiations. Since day one, I felt like every single detail was tailored just for our organisation.

We had weekly update calls and communicated through a Slack channel, what made the entire flow clear and easy to come back through. Since I am not a developer myself, what I valued the most, was the simplicity of our communication and the open-mindedness of our Project Manager.

Although the technical side of things might be tricky for a newbie like me, at NERDZ LAB you are assigned a Project Manager, who makes every detail clear and understandable even to a person with no technical knowledge.

Above all, our Project Manager was just a very nice and helpful individual, just like the rest of the NERDZ LAB team. It was a pure pleasure to work with these people.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Efficiency & effectiveness of communication
Very organised way of taking on the project, moving forward with it to eventually wrap it up
Making a seemingly difficult project feel achievable for a person that has no technical know-how
Personal approach and willingness to provide tailored solutions
Enormous initiative and always thinking a step ahead
Kindness. After all, we spent a couple of months working together, and the kindness made it all easy and pleasant.
Are there any areas for improvement?

Believe it or not, but I cannot think of anything that could have been done any better. There was no waiting time, communication was unbelievably smooth, a lot of initiative on the NERDZ LAB's side, customisation, personal approach and just a wonderful working atmosphere. I have no areas for improvement, and I truly hope to come across more of such professional teams in my career (and not only).

Seriously, I think that NERDZ LAB should start a side business and just teach other companies on how to run projects and communicate with the client.

**The Review** — Jan 29, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: NERDZ LAB has become a go-to partner based on their ability to consistently deliver quality work that satisfies the end-clients’ expectations. The team is solution-oriented and facilitates transparent project management. Their commitment to meeting the client’s needs is noteworthy.
"“Their reliability and value for money relative to the output set them apart.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of operations at the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NERDZ LAB?

Our client needed a web and native mobile app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

NERDZ LAB provided development services for native iOS and Android apps as well as a web app.

NERDZ built the Android version in Kotlin and the iOS version in Swift. The team built the web app’s backend in PHP and the frontend in Vue.js. The client provided the wireframes and designs, and NERDZ did the build from scratch. The app is for a large sports association, and it displays video and other types of content.

We’ve worked with NERDZ on other projects, both big and small.

What is the team composition?

There have been seven people involved in total. NERDZ LAB provided developers, QA testers, and a project manager. On the mobile team, we had one iOS, one Android, and one backend developer, as well as a QA tester and a project manager. On the web side, there was a backend developer, a frontend developer, and the same project manager and QA tester.

How did you come to work with NERDZ LAB?

We were looking for a development team based in Ukraine. NERDZ was a partner of ours before I joined, so I don’t know the full details. We trialed them on a couple of projects, and this was probably one of the largest we’ve worked with them on.

How much have you invested with them?

The mobile app cost around $23,000, and the web app cost $10,000. Including some of the changes, the total will be around $35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I would suspect that the collaboration with NERDZ started in early-2020, if not a bit earlier. This project started in July 2020, and it’s ongoing. The work is nearly finished, but the end client hasn’t provided us with the API data yet. We have everything in place, and we’ve built a mock API.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The clients that NERDZ has worked for have always been happy. We do reviews and retrospectives with clients, and no one has complained about the quality of NERDZ’s development. They’re one of our go-to teams.

How did NERDZ LAB perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project managers are transparent in working with us and conveying any issues that come up. They work with other members of the team to get things resolved.

We required certain data from the client in order to finish the project, and NERDZ came up with proposals to get around that issue. They kept the team on hand, waiting for the data. They finished their bit in November 2020, and we’ve been waiting on the client since then.

We use Jira across most of our projects, and we communicate through a mix of videoconferencing, Skype, and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their reliability and value for money relative to the output set them apart. Also, their willingness to solve the client problem — as opposed to not helping us when it doesn’t suit their team’s needs — is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be really hypocritical if I called out something they could’ve done differently in this instance. Many of the challenges we had on the project were unrelated to NERDZ.

As with every team, there are areas to improve, but the end output was good quality, and the end-client was satisfied with their work. They’re always pragmatic about how they spend their time. If there’s a blocker, they’ll look at what they can do to get rid of it, or they’ll do something else and wait until the blocker’s removed.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

If the client is open and honest with them, NERDZ will be open and honest with the client. It’s important to be transparent about where we are in getting the project ready for development, what budget we have to work with, and so on.

**Feedback Summary**: The Android version of the app was positively received by external stakeholders. The team displayed high-quality communications that contributed to the success of the project. The team also showed flexibility which allowed their operations to flow smoothly.
""We have worked with several third-party development teams and Nerdzlab has been the best for us by far."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Co-founder of a sports technology startup

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire NerdzLab?

For developing an Android application. We already had an iOS app, so we needed an extra developer to replicate our app into an Android application. Also, we required a QA engineer to test it.

What were your goals for this project?

The concept of our app is truly unique: it allows smooth online communication between coaches and athletes by handling all stages of the process from capturing and sharing videos to giving feedback.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select NerdzLab?

We were introduced to the Nerdzlab team, actually their CEO - Volodymyr, by a previous client we both worked with. It was quite a long conversation, but we managed to start the development in January.

Describe the project in detail.

It’s an iOS & Android project with the main idea to make communication between the trainer and his clients as easy as possible. One of the core features is an ability for clients to share video with his training and trainer to adjust his comments to it. A trainer can draw different elements on a video to make comments as accurate as possible for his clients. There is an advanced messaging system, as communication is a core part of the app. Lastly, the application has a custom video player to support features that default one cant.

What was the team composition?

We got on board one Android developer, one QA engineer and Delivery manager. Later on, we decided to assign an iOS developer as well, so that we can scale up our development efforts.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They have done some excellent work so far. Our application was successfully published on PlayMarket. Our products have been well received by our audience of users. We are excited to continue our collaboration with NerdzLab.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The development process was set up very clearly. High-quality communication from the whole team successfully contributed to effective cooperation. Twice a week we had a call with the team, and that helped to streamline the development effort.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We have worked with several third-party development teams and Nerdzlab has been the best for us by far. They are highly competent. They don't shy away from deep technical challenges and offer alternative solutions when a prescribed path isn't possible. They are flexible in how they operate and their client-success-first approach has shined through in every interaction I have had with them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing comes to mind.

**The Review** — Aug 5, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The features and upgrades contributed by NerdzLab have satisfied requirements for the project, helping the client to roll out increased capabilities to their customers. Although the initial code work is occasionally buggy, their team does an excellent job of QAing work until it functions flawlessly.
"“We’ve really appreciated their responsiveness to all of our requests and the organization of their QA process.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CTO of a startup developing apps to help people sleep.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdzLab?

One of our previous developers couldn’t commit as many hours as we needed for our projects, so we decided to look for additional development and QA help to further the product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided extra developers who handled some animations and other in-app features that we were working on at the time. The first project was fairly small and consisted primarily of adding an animation to our onboarding using Swift for iOS.

Since then, they have continued to provide ad hoc support on a variety of small feature additions and improvements to the core product. They wrote an entirely new web area for playing audio and integrated a couple of plugins including SnapKit.

What is the team composition?

We worked with about three members of their team, including a QA engineer, and a couple of developers.

How did you come to work with NerdzLab?

My co-founder came across them online, and we were impressed with their portfolio of previous projects. Our initial interviews went well, so we decided to move forward with them from there.

How much have you invested with them?

The project has cost around $4,000 a month, so around $35,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around December 2019 and are continuing to partner together.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have specific metrics resulting from their work since they have been pretty much fully integrated with the development work of our in-house team. However, we track the bugs in all of the features that we develop, as well as how many revisions we have to go through to make sure that everything is working, and for the most part, they’ve been up to spec in all of those ways. The initial code is usually a little buggy, but their QA has always been able to fix that.

How did NerdzLab perform from a project management standpoint?

They communicate well around all of the different timeline and budget aspects of the project, and they are good about making sure they understand everything and ask questions anytime they don’t. Our teams used Trello, Slack, and GitHub for managing the project milestones.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What impressed us most from the start was the quality of their animations, which are really top-notch. Since then, too, we’ve really appreciated their responsiveness to all of our requests and the organization of their QA process, which makes it really easy for us to navigate in iterating back and forth with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The initial quality of their code could be improved a little bit, but they always do a good job of catching any bugs in their QA process and eliminating before we launch, so it’s never caused any major problems.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As long as you have clear specifications, regular meetings, and provide feedback in both directions, you’ll have a successful partnership with their team.

I work for Freedom Development Company AB. We provide IT consulting services and develop mobile applications for various industries, from advertising to health to business. I'm a project manager, overseeing all development and marketing strategies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire NerdzLab?

Our advertising platform is a dynamic digital travel guide that helps travelers on their vacations and gives local businesses a new way to interact with them. It directly connects advertisers with end users.

We hired NerdzLab to work on this platform and its accompanying apps. They currently develop our backend and update the iOS and Android apps, too. They also continuously update and patch those apps, as needed.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal is to provide a dynamic, quickly evolving travel guide while driving traffic to local businesses.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

I found NerdzLab on Upwork. I personally conducted Skype interviews with all five applicants, and NerdzLab felt like the best fit. They aren't a large company, so they match our small size and budget.

Describe the project in detail.

They've implemented many features and designed a complete backend overhaul to support them. The features included invoice generation, messaging, and a guided registration process. We provided complete, detailed wireframes in both English and Greek. NerdzLab gave us the time we needed. The apps are native to iOS and Android.

What was the team composition?

We had five people: an iOS coder, an Android coder, various backend web programmers, and my main contact. They added a fifth person after I requested frontend help.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They address bugs swiftly. They've also added extra features, which were irrelevant to the initial project, that I requested.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We communicate using Slack and organize the workflow on Trello, which get updated as we move. I have been given access to test the backend and monitor changes as they are happening.

We have Skype video meetings to ask questions and get on the same page. I frequently call my main contact. We communicate in English and have no problems understanding each other.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

NerdzLab has a big team with enough people to manage all aspects of development. We certainly appreciate that. They are well organized and experienced in the field, which is a great relief for us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Most areas for improvement belong to us. As a startup, we have to learn a lot. NerdzLab gives us that chance.

We wanted to develop several mobile solutions, both for salons as well as individuals operating within the beauty industry.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

NerdzLab used Swift to develop an iOS platform for freelance beauty professionals. Functionalities included booking calendars to inventories, financial reporting, expense management, and client management. We then expanded the scope. Are there any areas they could improve?

To be frank, no. They’ve been exceptional and the relationship is building momentum month-over-month. I’ve visited their office in Lviv, and found them to be exceptionally hardworking and sharp.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Prospective clients should give the team an opportunity to at least look over the project.

"“The high quality of their code is unmatched—they put in the effort for our app to succeed.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a GPS tracking mobile application. The platform serves to help users locate their friends at events.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdzLab?

We were in the process of creating our mobile app but didn’t have the in-house resources available. To bring the app to life, we hired NerdzLab to help with development.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

NerdzLab is developing our app from start to finish. We supplied their team with designs that our internal team created. After reviewing the work we provided, they made key suggestions to fix issues. They’re working on the iOS and Android versions and making improvements to the backend.

Their team is building live GPS tracking capabilities into the app. This tool involves creating a live map for users to utilize. To do this, they had to learn several frameworks and new libraries and incorporate them into their work.

What is the team composition?

I primarily work with Vasyl (Co-Founder & CEO, NerdzLab). There are about 4–5 other teammates working on the project.

How did you come to work with NerdzLab?

We looked online for overseas developers, especially for teams located in Ukraine as we have experience with companies from there. We used freelancer.com, Upwork, etc. and interviewed several teams. During our meeting, NerdzLab quickly gave us new ideas, a timeline, and a quote within 48 hours. We also liked their pricing structure, so we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $30,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2018 and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re not tracking their progress yet since the platforms are still being developed. However, they’ve met all of our deadlines, and we’ll set KPIs in the future for the next version.

How did NerdzLab perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been excellent at managing the project; they’re more than willing to use our GitLab tool, even though they have their own in-house process. We’re able to track issues, make updates, and access code repositories if needed. They excel at communicating with our team—we primarily use Skype and have calls every few days. By the end of every day, we know what they’ve been working on or struggling with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The high quality of their code is unmatched—they put in the effort for our app to succeed. We never have to worry about other teams struggling with the code they’ve created because it's at such a high standard. They also have stellar communication skills and provide great suggestions to improve the product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything for them to improve on—everything has gone well, and their work is strong.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d recommend scheduling a consultation with their team and checking out their portfolio before selecting them for the project. Make sure your app is something NerdzLab have experience building and get their feedback on your ideas. In our case, they identified issues and made strong suggestions before even starting the work which was very valuable to us.

While projects could move along faster if they had a larger team, they’re creative, organized, proactive, and eager to help improve upon a project.
""NerdzLab has definitely helped improve our app. They’ve been extremely creative in suggesting additional functionality.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the founder of a company called Setai Television. We’ve created a platform for music artists to stream live concerts directly to their fans.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdzLab?

We have been developing the infrastructure, the backend, and the web app ourselves for the past two years. We hired NerdzLab to create the iOS and Android mobile app versions.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We have an internal design team that handed off a finished UX plan to NerdzLab, who then developed the mobile app for iOS and Android. The core functionalities we needed to be developed in JavaScript involved an artist being able to start a livestream and notify their fans, who would've previously registered through Facebook or Spotify. The fans can pay through PayPal, Stripe, Google Play, or iTunes to connect to the livestream concert.

What is the team composition?

I communicate directly with a project manager and one of the founders, and our CTO communicates directly with the developers. There are approximately six people in total working on the project.

How did you come to work with NerdzLab?

We are based in Munich, Germany, but our CTO and most of our development team are based in Ukraine. We were looking on Clutch for development companies in that area so that communication with them could be quick and regular.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $15,000 on the app for each platform, totaling $30,000. We’re adding some more functionality now, and the total will come out to approximately $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We contacted them in November 2018, and we will finish up the apps in March 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

NerdzLab has definitely helped improve our app. They’ve been extremely creative in suggesting additional functionality, which is uncommon when outsourcing a development project. We implemented much of their input, including additional methods of payment and pieces of the user story.

How did NerdzLab perform from a project management standpoint?

Our CTO meets daily with the project manager, and I usually have a call with them once a week. They send an updated version of the app every Friday. It was easy to track the progress of the project from the beginning, and the communication level is good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The best thing about NerdzLab is the strict timeline and budget. Unlike a lot of outsourced projects, where the initially agreed upon scope and price exponentially expand as time goes on, we signed a contract to prevent that. We agreed on a fixed price and a completed app by March, and they've honored that. Even as we create some new functionalities, they add them in for free.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be better if they had a larger team so that projects could move more quickly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

**The Review** — Jan 2, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: NerdzLab has clear communication and a transparent workflow, providing regular updates on project progress and delays. They proactively suggested ways to improve the platform and exceeded expectations. The team is honest and skilled, making them a reliable partner.
"“The quality of their work is exceptional, and I’m impressed with their work ethic.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and founder of POS Store, an online ordering platform available on multiple verticals. Businesses can use our platform to accept online orders and offer other online services.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdzLab?

I had the idea but needed a partner to develop and design the platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

I told NerdzLab what I wanted to build, and then we worked together to come up with a design. We discussed what the flow would look like and reviewed a few real-life examples to get a better idea of how it should function. After discussing the features and benefits, we then created wireframes, which included a loyalty program, table reservation, credit card payment processing, and order history. They then began development, writing the code and integrating every feature into the platform.

Business owners can use the system to better brand themselves and increase traffic. They can gather quality information about their customers’ buying habits and use that to do target marketing campaigns.

What is the team composition?

We work with the founder, a QA and testing expert, integration specialist, iOS developer, Android developer, and design team. In total, it’s about 10 people.

How did you come to work with NerdzLab?

A lot of the companies we looked at didn’t seem to listen to what we wanted. NerdzLab understood our goals and immediately began suggesting ways to make the platform better. They showed a sincere interest in our success, so we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $60,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in February 2018, and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t launched yet, but they’ve implemented every detail I wanted in the app. The quality of their work is exceptional, and I’m impressed with their work ethic and desire to make sure we’re completely satisfied with the final product.

How did NerdzLab perform from a project management standpoint?

Their documentation and communication are outstanding; they always make sure we’re informed of progress and setbacks. Unlike many firms, they’re honest and upfront about delays. I have complete confidence in them because they’ve gone above and beyond to meet our expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re extremely aware of trends and understand what our users are looking for. They expanded on our idea in ways I wasn’t expecting, which made me feel like we made the right decision in hiring them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should hire an in-house designer; they currently use a third-party designer.

**The Review** — Dec 21, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Their team is enthusiastic, creative, and highly communicative. They’re quick with project updates and offer engaging suggestions for how to improve the product. The new platform is stable, functional, and has been well-received by testers and early investors.
"“Their technical abilities are solid and they can deliver what they promise.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of a fitness tech startup in the UK. We make B2B apps and websites for gyms to offer to fitness users.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdzLab?

We brought them on to help us build out native apps for iOS and Android, as well as a web platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re helping us put together a seamless ecosystem for our company so that visitors from any gym can create an account and log their workout data. They took over the project from a previous contractor that wasn’t delivering as well as we’d hoped, so one of the first things we did was evaluate the partially-completed code to see if it was viable. After a short evaluation, they advised us to scrap everything and rebuild it from scratch.

Once we restarted, our team handled the design and initial wireframing. Their team collaborates closely with us to develop and test the software, updating the technology and adding feature improvements. They handle both front- and backend development using a combination of Laravel PHP and React Native, and use Swift for the mobile elements.

What is the team composition?

We have 10 or 11 people working on our project. Their co-founders serve as project managers and then we work very closely with the frontend, backend, and mobile app developers. There are also some QA testers.

How did you come to work with NerdzLab?

A colleague found them online about a year ago. At that point, we chose to go with another contractor that didn’t deliver as well as we’d hoped. They happened to reach out to us during that time, so we decided to see if they could pick up the project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $50,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2018 and the project is expected to launch in January 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve been a major improvement over our previous contractor. Our new code is much more stable and they can work with it efficiently. The product is ready to launch and we’ve had six gyms invest in it so far. We’ve also got about 300 test users on the platform and just over 1,000 workout data points shared. It’s still early in terms of understanding where we need to modify things as we scale up.

How did NerdzLab perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re really accessible and communicate well. We touch base daily via Slack about any changes or updates to the project, and we also talk face-to-face online at least every few days. They let us know if there are any technical constraints or problems and explain their proposed solutions. They’ve also suggested new features to us that will improve the platform.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their technical abilities are solid and they can deliver what they promise. For a young company, they’re very capable and enthusiastic, and that shows in how well they communicate and engage with the work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing really comes to mind. We talk so often that issues get resolved without any problems.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open and honest regarding your project goals. They’ll deliver results quickly, so be sure to talk about where you want to take the product or mention any constraints you have in terms of time or cost.

**The Review** — Sep 18, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: NerdzLab developed a robust, complex app in a short timeframe. Extremely flexible, proactive, and responsive in communications, working with their team is seamless. They delivered above and beyond expectations and provided high-quality work for a reasonable rate.
"“In addition to being good programmers, they're also patient and responsive to client needs.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the founder of a mobile application firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdzLab?

We engaged NerdzLab to help us develop an iOS mobile app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

NerdzLab developed a productivity app for iOS, using existing designs. They incorporated features that allow for calendar synchronization and a CRM that imports spreadsheets, plots data on a map, and helps users track leads. Users can also sort contacts, communicate in groups, and monitor analytics. Sales representatives, for example, can use the app to track their performance after holding events, based on sales or customer satisfaction ratings.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with the founder, as well a couple other developers.

How did you come to work with NerdzLab?

I found them through Upwork.

How much have you invested with them?

The project came out to about $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2017, and the relationship is ongoing. Most of the programming work is completed, but we're in the process of cleaning up a few things before launching.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

NerdzLab developed a complicated app in a relatively short amount of time. The feedback we've received from initial testing has been very positive thus far.

How did NerdzLab perform from a project management standpoint?

They perform well and respond very quickly whenever we reach out to them for changes or questions. They delivered on time and make themselves almost immediately available to fix any bugs as they come up. We mostly track milestones through a single document, and keep in touch through Skype and chat.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team went above and beyond expectations. In addition to being good programmers, they're also patient and responsive to client needs. They've displayed exemplary performance in comparison to other developers I've worked with. They performed tasks that were inconvenient and beyond the scope of work, going out of their way for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I'm very satisfied with the work they've provided.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a strong and clear sense of what the app should look like and do going into the relationship, providing detailed requirements and wireframes if possible.

**The Review** — Apr 20, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: The app demonstrates high-quality during current user testing. Working well across time zones and language differences, NerdzLab brought unique expertise to bear. They demonstrated integrity, were strategic about keeping the process on track, and wouldn’t settle for “good enough”.
"“I was most impressed with their desire to reach an outcome that I was happy with.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm an entrepreneur. My company, Groggy, designed an app that monitors people while they're driving to make sure that they stay awake.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdzLab?

My challenge was finding a team that had experience with facial recognition or, particularly, eye tracking.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They built the iPhone app from my designs. They helped when I needed a specific resolution for some designs so I didn’t have to find a graphic designer. I did the user testing and provided feedback to them on the changes I needed. They also provided advice on what they thought would work well to get it into the app store. We should release it within the next week. depending on the user uptake, we will build an Android app and also for Apple Watch. Once we launch and I get client feedback, I’ll have them do a second version with adjustments.

The app uses space detection to track eye blinks, yawns, and head movements as well as the length of time the eyelids are closed. If the algorithm notes that responses are over the average, it alerts you that you’re showing signs of drowsiness. One of the key features is that it counts eye blinks. One of the challenges was doing that accurately depending on the length of the phone away from your face at which it could still detect the blinks. Another challenge was detecting yawns because the mouth can stay open for a laugh or smile. They had to work a little bit harder to get the algorithms to count a yawn versus a smile.

What is the team composition?

I worked with two people but the main one was the first point of contact that I dealt with. He would update his team on what needed to be done. It was good for me to deal with the same person throughout.

How did you come to work with NerdzLab?

I found them on Upwork. I listed my project and had a number of responses. When I started asking questions about my project, trying to determine the respondents’ knowledge of what I was trying to do, NerdzLab was by far the most experienced. They had done some work on eye tracking before. They had a past project that they could show me as a demonstration. I knew that they would be able to more easily understand what I was trying to achieve. Working across international time zones, you have to try to be clear via Skype or by sending documents back and forth. Having someone that already understood 50% would make it easier for them to understand what I was trying to achieve going forward.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost was about $24,000 AUD ($18,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together last August 2017. The work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s a bit early to say since I don’t have feedback beyond simple user testing. But so far there have been many times when I needed to make changes based on user feedback and they successfully made those changes.

The quality is really good. If I wasn't getting quality work, I wouldn't have stayed with them. The interactions with them have also been really good. They’ve been clear about what was possible and not possible. If they weren’t sure, they would do their own research and come back to me with an answer.

How did NerdzLab perform from a project management standpoint?

We used the Upwork interface for sharing documents and doing payments. That interface also has a Skype-type service we used. They performed strongly given the international time zones that we had to deal with as well as the language differences since English is their second language.

Another strength of theirs was being strategic about what was happening in order to move things forward. They kept things going throughout the process. They would ask for a proposal and come back with the costing for the specifications.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with their desire to reach an outcome that I was happy with. They didn’t just settle for “good enough”. For example, once when I sent an example of the graphic design I wanted, they wouldn’t use it because it wasn’t my design. It was good to have pushback on issues of integrity. That’s happened a couple of times. That was the most impressive thing. They weren’t happy to take money over making sure they were doing the right thing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have a little bit more structure around their written processes and their written formats. For example, I have a good bit of design and technical understanding but I could see that, for someone without that background or skill, it would be harder for them to follow things. They could improve their ability to deal with a layperson as well as someone that's technical.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear on what you want. Document the way that you want things to roll out. Bring them on board with why you are doing it, the goal you're trying to reach, and the end game.

""We were so impressed with how they handled this project that we’ve asked them to assist us in building our own application."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I co-founded a company that develops mobile applications and websites.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdzLab?

We needed assistance in developing bandwidth for an iOS app. We have an in-house design team, but due to the project’s tight timeline, we needed to outsource to a larger firm with multiple developers and a Quality Assurance (QA) team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They handled the front-end development of the application using Swift code. Most notably, they built a custom video player that’s more advanced than the default iOS video player. Their QA engineer and two developers managed to build the video player and stabilize it in a reasonable amount of time.

Initially, we managed our partnership using Scrum, with weekly Sprints. We then decided to use the Waterfall Model to manage their development so we could accommodate our beta testing. We’d give them our design specifications, they would develop it over a set timeline, and then we’d test it. Though the switch proved difficult, they were very flexible and adapted quickly.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Vasyl Khmil [Co-founder, NerdzLab] and Volodymyr Vrublevskyi [iOS Developer, NerdzLab], as well as their team of developers and QA engineer.

How did you come to work with NerdzLab?

They came highly recommended by a business partner. They had a good reputation, and we were confident they could do the job.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested approximately $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began our partnership in August and we’re currently in the final stages of development.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were so impressed with how they handled this project that we’ve asked them to assist us in building our own application.

How did NerdzLab perform from a project management standpoint?

They had good attention to detail, and if they ever missed anything, they were responsible enough to catch it and correct it. We communicated primarily through Skype, a messaging service called Telegram, and the project tracking software Jira.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I found their availability despite our time difference to be the most impressive. I’m on Pacific Standard Time and they accommodate that despite being offshore. We’re able to have a couple conference calls every week with our entire team, and I’m able to get ahold of them throughout the work day.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would’ve been helpful to have a status report of any issues they run into, as opposed to going back and forth about it via chat. That would be more efficient and help us anticipate any delays.

We at NERDZ LAB provided comprehensive web development services for TriCan Health, helping design and build the platform and a mobile application.
After our team advised TriCan on the optimal technical architecture to meet their needs, our primary responsibility was to design an intuitive interface where users could input their medical profiles and preferences and receive well-matched clinical trial suggestions. ### Sleep meditation and stories app
The client is a successful tech startup from North Carolina, the USA with a focus on sleep wellness software. Our task was to develop an effective and aesthetically pleasing solution for sleep problems, filled with relaxing stories, background music, and soundscapes.
Over 2 000 000 downloads, “App of the Day” on the Apps Store, one of the “10 Best Sleep Apps to Download in 2021” and many more...

### MySkinDoc: telehealth consultation platform
mySkinDoc is a web solution for online dermatology consultations.
MySkinDoc users provide information about their skin disorders through an online form and make a payment. They then receive an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
The client came to us with the idea of a telehealth platform for people with different skin problems. They needed a website that would be attractive and easy to find through an online search. It also had to store all customer records securely and include a payment gateway.

### Fuze: Smarter Financial Planning Tool
Fuze is a platform that provides clarity and real-time visibility into clients’ finances and investments. It’s an all-in-one solution for financial advisors, wealth managers, private banks, and financial planners. The core value of Fuze lies in aggregating and grouping financial data through multiple integrations, including Open Banking, cryptocurrencies, stocks, Wise, Revolut, and more.
A major potential client requested integration with their own data source, along with improvements in data visualization, grouping, and the addition of new financial metrics.
To address this, we quickly allocated back-end and front-end developers and conducted a code review. We discovered that much of the front-end was generated with v0 (Vibe coding with AI). While this accelerated initial development, the code was nearly unreadable, lacked structure, clear naming conventions, and scalability. Any extension posed critical risks, so we rewrote large portions of the front-end.
On the back-end, we developed the new module as an independent microservice. This allowed us to expand functionality without affecting the main application and ensured resource autonomy.
During integration, we encountered numerous edge cases not covered by the existing logic. To avoid delays, our team independently analyzed them, prepared solutions, and provided ready-to-approve results for the client—taking full responsibility for handling these cases.
The outcome: seamless integration with the new system, expanded functionality, and improved stability with minimal risks to the overall platform.

### Ayadi: teletherapy platform development
Ayadi is a woman-led company and the first startup in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) that connects people with qualified bilingual therapists via video or chat.  Our task was to quickly take up the project and bring it to the market in less than two months to hit the launch date. - Automated clock-ins
- Track your teams

### KAI: an AI-powered web module development

KAI’s artificial intelligence solutions analyze all types of interaction (online, over the phone, and in-person) and suggest ways to make them more effective, client-oriented, and positive.
NERDZ LAB’s task was to develop an integrated web-based module as an additional internal component to the client’s AI solutions.

Our client, Online Empires, is an established e-learning business in the UK. As of 2023, they’ve helped over 30,000 people worldwide break out of the 9-5 cycle and start a profitable online business. When they contacted us, the client was using two online solutions — one to host their learning materials and one to host their affiliate program — which was very inconvenient. We're assisting the client with our web design and development services to build a single platform and handle both functions. NERDZ LAB started on this project in March 2022, and the work is underway.

### Spotlight: Educational video platform development
Spotlight is an educational video hub focused on enhancing corporate environments. NERDZ LAB had to create a convenient platform for salons to showcase their offerings and for clients to browse them hassle-free and book appointments without distractions. We went with a minimalistic design, calm colors, and clear backgrounds to emphasize the offers and not clog the screen with multiple dropdowns and checkboxes. This resulted in an intuitive user journey and a positive customer experience.

### БАЗА: teletherapy mobile app development
The Russian war against Ukraine is ongoing. Both post-combatants who suffered injuries and stress on the frontlines and civilian victims of Russian terrorist attacks require help to overcome PTSD and return to normal life as much as possible.

All the content of this therapy online app was developed under this program, and the copyright belongs to the Psychological Support and Rehabilitation Non-Public Organization Vilnyi Vybir.
The NEDZ LAB team delivered the project’s healthcare UI/UX design and custom telehealth software development. The platform offers features for overcoming stress, relaxing, and handling PTSD symptoms.
БАЗА virtual mental health services app provides exercises for meditation, relaxation, stabilizing mental health, and enabling self-help for PTSD sufferers. The new project aimed to expand their business to Web3 (the next Web iteration, in which blockchain will play a significant role). The client chose NERDZ LAB as their reliable partner to quickly build a blockchain-based MVP while their company focused on diving into the world of Web3 technology.

### Speeding up intensive blockchain data aggregation
The project’s aim is to advance the KYC (know your customer) process for decentralized financial operations, and one of its fundamental components is an API that retrieves blockchain data records.
When the client came to us, they already had an application but couldn’t release it due to a lack of capacity. Specifically, they had technically complex issues related to their back-end data processing speed. Solving them became the main task for NERDZ LAB. The fundamental goal of our collaboration was to accelerate the collection and processing of blockchain transaction data.

Alternatively, users can make their agents private and simply use them for personal tasks or internal projects.
The NERDZ LAB team applied our AI application development services expertise to make the platform uncompromisingly secure. We recognize the importance of protecting private user data, which is why the following data privacy measures have been implemented:

Chats don’t train on user data.
The platform is fully GDPR-compliant with encrypted, secure storage.
All of your actions remain confidential between you and your agent.
We never disclose or sell your private information.
You always stay in control by deleting conversations or data at any time.

### REAL-TIME MESSAGING FOR A LIVE ELEARNING PRODUCT
MemberSpot is a well-established B2B SaaS community and educational platform. It’s popular among creators, educators, and businesses, who use it to run memberships and deliver structured content to a community of 200,000 consecutive users.
The team contacted NERDZ LAB on LinkedIn because they wanted online learning platform development support to add real-time community interaction that wouldn’t disrupt a live product. Notably, before starting the cooperation, Membershot already had an active user base.
As the product evolved, they aimed at enhancing and extending existing functionality, improving UX, and making their platform scalable. This is where our collaboration started: providing software development services to help a scaling product grow. without disrupting its users.
Our primary goal was to develop a live chat function for an existing SaaS solution without jeopardizing the integrity of its production environment. Our team also had to prioritize scalability and ensure the architecture could be safely rolled out under the client’s control. In a controlled QA beta environment, we built a production-ready chat with an optimistic UI.
We then verified it through comprehensive software testing services. Finally, we provided transparent handoff and release-ready support, allowing the customer to put it into production via feature flags on their timeline.

### A MEDICAL EDUCATION PLATFORM BUILT FOR CLINICIANS
MedPod began with a doctor who wanted to create medical podcasts that were actually useful for learning, not just background noise. Together, we’ve built an app that does more than just play audio. It lets you take quizzes, jot down notes, reflect, and track your progress, all in one place.
The team had to move fast and stay cost-conscious, so we built a custom mobile app in Flutter, shipping both iOS and Android from a single codebase. On the backend, we utilized Firebase Firestore as a no-code database and integrated Firebase Cloud Functions for server-side logic.
For content updates, we integrated FireCMS with Firestore, providing a simple way for users to manage and publish changes without requiring developer assistance.
The client found us on Clutch, read what people had to say about our education technology development, and gave the cooperation a try. As a result, we’ve managed to build a lucrative partnership and a product that resonates with many students. Our client considers us “a superb coding company,” and we’re happy to help them build an app with a mission that truly matters.

### RESTAURANT APP DEVELOPMENT FOR SOCIAL FOOD DISCOVE
TableBud is a consumer social and location-based lifestyle app that makes finding good restaurants easier by tapping into the people you trust most: your friends. It began as a validated web product with real users, but has since evolved into a full-fledged mobile app for iOS and Android.
Users can enjoy an interactive map, a social feed packed with dining spots and reviews, plus it automatically tracks your visits, so dining experiences are captured in a clean, shareable history.
A former client recommended NERDZ LAB to the founder, who was searching for a trustworthy partner to rebuild the product from the ground up and position it for long-term success. Our biggest challenges were structuring a Firebase-first architecture for long-term maintainability and delivering reliable geofencing without hurting battery life or user confidence.
We also had to design an intuitive experience that unifies map exploration, social feed activity, and reviews. To address these bottlenecks, we optimized location tracking through transparent onboarding and privacy-safe behavior. Plus, we designed a mobile-first UX, structured Firebase effectively, and streamlined essential workflows.

### THE COMPLETE AI ECOSYSTEM IN ONE PLATFORM
Perspective AI is a Progressive Web App that combines multiple AI tools in one place, helping users save costs and experience unprecedented value. Just imagine: as a creator, you don’t have to juggle logins and subscriptions to find the most efficient tool for your needs.
The platform allows users to make payments via crypto wallets, receive rewards, and, most importantly, monetize their AI agents.

### THE ULTIMATE FINANCIAL PLANNING TOOL
Our client, Fuze, approached NERDZ LAB with a request to implement new changes and integrations based on the needs of a potential customer for their wealth management platform.
One of the main challenges was integrating with the customer’s information source while also improving how financial data was visually displayed and grouped, ensuring it was better suited to the operational needs of this large company. To address this, we introduced a microservice architecture, developing the new module as an independent service to enable scalability and resource efficiency.
During our short-term cooperation, we delivered a stable, scalable integration with enhanced functionality, addressed critical edge cases, and ensured the platform was ready to meet the new client’s operational needs.

### Commonly Asked Questions

**How long does it take to get started?**
To start working on a project, we have to gather a team of professionals with the relevant expertise that best matches the task at hand. Some of the key experts might be involved in other projects, so there might be a short wait time. But usually, the allocation process doesn’t take longer than one month.

Are you looking for an expert in a specific technology, or the deadline is pressing? Email us today, and we’ll try to help you out.

**How does NERDZ LAB ensure the quality of its development?**
Our team has helped numerous companies to release products with high-quality code, well-tested usability, and a memorable user experience. We build our software testing services on best industry standards (like ISTQB certification), rely on automated testing as a practical approach within CI/CD paradigm, and work with a broad array of real devices and professional testing tools. On top of that, we thoroughly plan and carefully implement the above-mentioned test activities and tasks in a timely manner.

**How long does it take to build MVP?**
The typical timeframe for developing an MVP for a startup ranges from 1 to 3 months. If it takes longer than two months, inadequate research or poor choice of toolkit may be to blame. However, in rare cases, MVP might require more time for iterations and user validation (up to six months).

**Which LLMs and AI frameworks do you work with?**
We work across the major model providers and open-source ecosystems:

Models: OpenAI GPT-4o, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Meta Llama 3, Mistral.
Orchestration: LangChain, LlamaIndex.
Retrieval: RAG pipelines with Pinecone, Weaviate, and Qdrant as vector stores.
Infrastructure: AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI Service.

We recommend the right stack based on your data sensitivity, cost targets, and latency requirements — not based on what is currently trending.

**How much does AI app development cost?**
Cost depends on scope and complexity. As a guide:

AI Proof of Concept (PoC) — $8,000–$15,000 (2–4 weeks): validates your hypothesis with a working prototype before you commit to a full build.

AI-powered MVP — $40,000–$120,000 (8–16 weeks): a shippable product with core AI features, ready for real users.

AI features added to an existing product — from $30,000, depending on model selection, data preparation, and infrastructure requirements.

Ongoing costs include inference (OpenAI / Anthropic API usage or self-hosted model infrastructure), vector database hosting, and monitoring. We provide a fixed-fee estimate after a free 30-minute scoping call.
