For what projects/services did your company hire Mole Street?

One of our customers was looking for a qualified digital agency to help market a mobile application we were building. Mole Street handled the website, social media accounts, and strategy for pre-launch, launch, and post-launch.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to create a fully functional MVP of a mobile application for the fitness industry, and launch to between 1,000 - 5,000 users for the initial proof of concept.

Mole Street was tasked with creating a fully functional website complete with design, SEO, and consulting on the content. In addition they setup the relevant social media accounts and created a strategy for pre-launch, launch, and post-launch.

What was the team composition?

There seemed to be about 4-6 team members involved in the project; however, my primary involvement was with their principal Brendan Walsh.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective, our team collaborated with theirs and the customer on brand guidelines, features, strategy and outreach. Highly communicative and highly effective.

I was blown away by the level of dedication and commitment the team showed during the project. It's rare to have a vendor so committed and so tuned in to the needs of the client. This made the entire project life cycle and communication go amazing.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mole Street?

We didn’t have an in-house marketing team that could help us build our longterm marketing strategy. So, we hired Mole Street to assist us with this, specifically in terms of SEO enablement.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Mole Street provided us with an audit, analyzing everything that we had and giving us a detailed roadmap of what needed to be fixed to get to the next level. They then worked with us to measure all of our SEO elements, including backlinks, and created a roadmap with timelines to make sure that we could be more successful in ranking compared to our competitors.

The team created content for the website, revamped existing content, and provided improvements for existing pages. We also provided them with content, so it was a joint effort. Additionally, they worked with us on the URL structure and webpage optimization.

I work with Megan (Digital Marketing Specialist), a copywriter, and an SEO specialist. Brendan (Principal) is also always on the calls.

Our engagement began in November 2019 and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve received a lot of insights and suggestions that we’ve since implemented on the website. We thought we were doing everything correctly, but Mole Street helped us change our methods. Our traffic is growing steadily at about 25–25% month-over-month (MoM), and we’ve been receiving more demo requests on our website.

We haven’t measured the impact of the campaign just yet because those results are usually more longterm, but our business has been growing. 

How did Mole Street perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything has been good. Their communication is great and our calls are well-structured. We really enjoy working with them and they’re great professionals. We like working with Brendan directly, and it’s rare when an agency owner can work with you directly. Slack, Zoom, and Whatsapp are the communication tools we use, and Google Drive is where we store our documents.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I am most impressed by their level of expertise in this subject. During the entire time we’ve worked with Mole Street, they’ve always given us very valuable insights. They truly have an in-depth understanding of their field.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I can think of. I can only say positive things about the agency. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a roadmap for 3–6 months so that you know what’s ahead. If you only plan for 1–2 months, you’ll have to go back and forth to decide what to do next.

At first, we engaged Mole Street to develop our WordPress website from the ground up. They implemented a digital marketing plan that included copy, web design, targeted email marketing, SEO strategies, and social media presence. 

We provided the team with the background and basis of our business and services, and the team was able to take that overview, and create a comprehensive content strategy. They dove into relevant keywords to engage our target audience — a group that the team also helped us to identify and refine.

We had a single point of contact, Alicia (Creative Director), who was supported by a larger team that we interfaced with every so often.

We went through a pretty extensive RFP process, interviewing a variety of digital marketing agencies. It was important for us to find a company that could not only launch, but grow our business.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

In the three years we engaged Mole Street, we went from having no revenue to earning $3,000,000 in revenue. That growth is really reflective of our online presence and our industry thought leadership, both of which Mole Street helped us develop. We saw fantastic opening rates, especially compared to industry benchmarks, and we converted leads who had previously been with other companies.

How did Mole Street perform from a project management standpoint?

Alicia was very involved with our project. She was on all of our calls and played a role in every strategy we discussed. She did an excellent job of distributing tactics and execution throughout the larger team that supported her. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mole Street is a breath of fresh air. They’re professionals, and they’re specialists. They put time, effort, and pride into understanding our business and its language. The team was able to take our communications and deliver it to our audience in a powerful, effective way. Mole Street got in the mind of our clients, choosing keywords that really helped us get ahead quickly and surpass even our most established competitors. 

Throughout the engagement, we looked at them as an extension of our own team, which allowed us to focus on our own core competencies while we expanded and grew the business.

Mole Street takes a lot of pride in making sure they’re able to deliver on their client’s expectations fully. If you engage them at the partner level from the get-go, that quality will really shine through, and the rest of the relationships will follow from that solid base

I’m a sales and marketing manager at a patient financial management company. The basics of it is helping patients understand and afford medical care. We install a tech-enabled service to run patient financial estimates and payment programs for out of pocket expenses faced going into treatment. We also have a curriculum to walk patients through their insurance benefits right before care.

They’re helping us put together messaging that positions us as leaders in the pre-care patient financial management space. They’re also ensuring we’re getting that message out to as many people as possible.

What was the scope of their involvement?

So far, they’ve set up automated email marketing and downloadable content on our website. They’ve also done a total overhaul on our technical SEO.

We have an ongoing retainer with them. Initially, we did a scope of work for a total website redesigning, but they were able to convert a lot of our pages into HubSpot landing pages. They’re now in the process of redesigning our home page. It’s a very collaborative effort between us. We’re both copywriting and outlining what the pages are looking for. After we provide edits, they finalize it, design it and optimize the backend.

We’re also about to launch a LinkedIn campaign to drive people to the site. We now have the digital presence we want and are looking to target people via job title, industry, geographical area, etc.

They’ve helped with brainstorming and creative services about the website too, as well as helping us partner with HubSpot. They’ve taken our metric tracking to the next level including where people are coming from, how we’re converting, what email strategies are working well, and what pages people really care about.

What is the team composition?

Brendan (Principal, Mole Street) is very involved. He makes sure everyone on our dedicated team is delivering and hitting our deadlines. He calls in periodically as well to help strategize on how else they can help. He excels at thinking outside the box and scope of work.

Megan (Digital Marketing Specialist, Mole Street) is our point of contact and lead strategist. Tina (Graphic Designer, Mole Street) helps with design and technical SEO. They also have some photographers on staff that we’re going to use for staff photos. Kimberly (Project Manager, Mole Street) is our project manager that we talk to weekly, if not daily, via email. There are 4–5 people on their team engaged with us.

I used to work at a marketing agency, and they were a competitor of mine. When I switched to the client-side, I already knew Brendan from the event-oriented side of Mole Street. I’d met him personally and thought he was always thinking ahead and strategized. They seemed like upbeat, positive people and would help us build momentum.

It will surpass $100,000 after the upcoming LinkedIn initiative.

We’ve been working together since June 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re ranking on the first page for terms at the core of what we do that we were nowhere near ranking for initially. We started with an idea we’d proofed out for a few customers, and they’ve helped us build out a digital presence that we can scale to the larger marketing and eat up market share with.

Their ongoing blogging helps drive leads to HubSpot, which has created over a million dollars in opportunities for us. Having these marketing assets and collateral online is what, I believe, in addition to our pitches and the value we bring, gives our prospects confidence. We’re writing about what we’re doing very intelligently, and people see that.

How did Mole Street perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly huddles and an ongoing prioritization list that they manage on a shared Google Doc to make sure we’re knocking things off. Feedback and edits from the client slow agencies down, but Mole Street is great at keeping on top of them.

We had a great discovery meeting to kick things off and outline what we needed to do, and once those things were accomplished we created a new list. Every week, we either meet in person or over the phone, depending on what’s going on, to keep that list moving forward.

What did you find most impressive about them?

As a startup, we have a certain amount of cash on hand to do projects like this, and they’ve been very flexible, allowing us to get updates done and redesign the site page by page.

They have well-rounded knowledge in every aspect of the things we need. Whether that’s video, photo, web design, campaign optimization, or content development. They’ve done a good job across the board with all our needs so we don’t’ have to go to multiple agencies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m very happy with the services, but it’s a matter of us providing the ad spend so they can leverage more. The only thing would be reporting our ROI, but in marketing, that’s really difficult to do

As we looked to expand our growth, we needed a marketing agency to help us. We didn’t have a large marketing budget, but we still wanted a website that was aesthetically pleasing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first step was determining our identity by building our brand and then expanding to the website. So, they helped us price out a budget for a new website, branding, and logo, which was new for us as a law firm. We sent them a few ideas of what we wanted but they had a completely different vision that would help us stand out. 

They then designed the branding, color scheme, and logo. They also developed a website from the ground up, working with us piece by piece to build out certain webpages that would drive lead generation and conversion. This is the first time that they’ve worked with a law firm and it’s the first time we’ve worked with a full-service marketing agency.

Brendan (Principal) and Brian (Founder & Principal) were our main points of contact, and they had about three teammates working with them.

A mutual contact at HubSpot put us in contact with Mole Street, who is a HubSpot certified partner. We emailed back and forth and had a few calls with them, after which I and the two partners at my firm met with Brendan and Brian. We had an instant connection. They were polite and authentic, and they understood our vision. We knew right away that it was going to be a good match.

We started working together in May 2019 and our engagement is ongoing.

We’ve spent about $80,000–$85,000.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re about 2–3 weeks away from launching the website so we don’t have any metrics yet. Overall, we’re very excited.

Our industry is very archaic so sometimes you need the perspective of someone who’s not involved in the industry to give you an outside view of where you need to go and how you can get there. That’s exactly what Mole Street did for us. They helped us rethink our stance on and perception of the future and growth of the company as a whole.

How did Mole Street perform from a project management standpoint?

I thought I was good at managing projects until I met this team. They’re incredibly involved in minor and major aspects of the process, taking the project very personally. The communication has been great, which is important to us since we’re spending a lot of money. I have direct access to them whether it’s through email, Google Hangouts, or text. 

They respond at any time of the day to help me get the tasks done. They also give us constant feedback, always checking in, and there’s never been a time where we had to wait to hear back from them. Mole Street sends regular status updates and they're always transparent about the progress their making. This helps us to stay on top of what’s going on and see exactly where our money is going. We have a very casual relationship and we work really well together. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m continuously impressed by their accessibility. When we want to talk to them about the project, they always clear their schedule and make time for us, which is key. They’re also not stuck to or stubborn about their ideas.

If we have suggestions or critiques, they don’t get upset. They talked us out of sticker shock and eased the anxieties that come with growth. They’re very authentic people who think outside the box, which is exactly what we needed to survive in the competitive legal industry.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t really think of anything off the top of my head. If anything, as they continue to grow, they will need to hire more employees because they’re very busy now. I don’t know if that’s a bad thing on their end, but everyone goes through those growing pains.

Meet Brendan and Brian in person. Go visit the office and meet the whole team. As soon as you walk in, you’ll know that you’ll be in good hands. They won’t lead you down the wrong path.

They’re excellent. We use Google Drive to keep track of things. They provide me with updates and anything that needs to be prioritized, and I keep track of everything in my own folder. In contact frequently, they’re always available when I need them and we also have scheduled meetings. They’re very detail-oriented as well. Always attentive, they’re willing to help with anything.

Brendan is really great at helping me get my message across. He understands what my mission and purpose are, and what I need to put in my content to be able to take it to the next level.
