• Bring job roles and accounts that rarely entered the usual event funnel into NetApp Insight, including people who influence AI and infrastructure projects without buying storage as their main job.

Social Selling on LinkedIn for NetApp's one-to-one ABM on about 10 large accounts in one EMEA region (finance, oil and gas, services, and telco). Started on the Demand Marketing Manager's profile, then added a Regional Director profile and Business Development profiles. - Marketing profile around NetApp Insight: connections from target accounts, invitations, posts before and during the event, follow-up, and shared materials - Same profile next: exclusive research offered for a comment or message, delivered by private message or email - Regional Director profile: goals, audience segmentation (mid-size and large data-intensive companies, system integrators, government organizations, industry media), rebuilt positioning and content themes, and target-network growth - BDR profiles on strategic accounts: coaching, content support, reminders, and guidance from likes and comments to private conversations and meeting requests.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Exclusive research on the marketing profile: 79 responses, 44 from target companies, and 8 SQLs (calls or meetings with potential customers). 18% conversion from target-company responses to SQLs.

Regional Director profile: relevant connections grew from about 800 to 5,000. Average reactions per post rose from 34 to 85, and average comments from 10 to 31.

Roughly 3x lead growth compared with the previous approach. The project contributed to around $20M in deals tied to large AI deployments on the NetApp storage layer. At least one relevant contact at every buying-committee level on the target list.

The scope included:

- defining target audience by geography, industry, and company type;

- developing, testing, and iterating message sequences;

- building connections and running multi-touch outreach campaigns;

- creating event-based follow-up campaigns tied to real shows and seasonal opportunities;

- collecting and passing leads (emails, phone numbers) to the sales team with context notes;

- weekly performance reporting and sync calls with the client.

Audience targeting evolved to a 3-step qualification process using LinkedIn Navigator and AI-based company filtering to maximize lead quality. Target industries included event organizers, entertainment and automotive brands, real estate developers. Target geographies spanned MENA, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

LinkedIn became one of the primary lead generation channels for the company. The project generated up to 80-100 expressions of interest and 200+ replies per month across accounts.

A targeted audience of 25,000+ connections was built across 4 LinkedIn profiles.

At least 2 large deals were confirmed, including a show of 3,000 drones performed at a major international event.

The team scaled from 2 to 4 LinkedIn profiles as results grew, with follow-up sequences reaching some prospects 7-10 times.
