I am not a visual person. I'm an accountant. I think in numbers, spreadsheets, and logic, so when it came time to rebuild my visual identity, I honestly didn't know where to start or how to evaluate what "good" even looked like for me.

Grace from Modment made that entire process easy, and more than that, she made it genuinely enjoyable.

She worked hand in hand with the brand strategy direction I had already developed, and she brought it to life visually in a way I never could have imagined on my own. We needed a responsive website redesign including links to our art to purchase, an about section, contact information, and a heavy focus on visual elements and interactions. In addition to web design work, we needed help finding an alternative to the Wix CMS & domain hosting and implementing the new solution & domain transfer.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Previously, we did not have a live website showcasing our artwork, therefore having a live website with a design that perfectly aligns with our vision has a huge impact on our brand overall. Due to the switch to Webflow, we can now more flexibly update our website content. Also, the change of CMS and domain provider to their suggested solutions has immediately saved us money across subscription costs.

They were extremely proactive regarding communication by talking us through the software used (Slack & Trello) and their project workflow. It was clear what was being worked on at all times and whether we owed any feedback or credentials to complete the work. All work, including feedback and improvements, was done faster than expected and exceeded all expectations in execution and design.

The team's ability to translate our brand assets and artwork into site designs within two weeks was impressive. I contact Emily at Modment regarding a cover design for my historic fiction novel, The Market Women of Diamond Square. I mentioned some ideas I had, the mood I wanted (something noirish, but something that also had a little color and "popped" on a bookshelf.) Also sent along some historic photos of Pittsburgh's old markethouse. 
Given the complicated things I was hoping to accomplish, I wasn't sure what to expect! Emily went far beyond what I could have even dreamed possible. Her cover design is eye-catching, stylish, contemporary, and yet somehow captures the time period the novel is set within (the years before World War I). I wholeheartedly recommend Emily and the Modment team. Top notch and first rate!

The project management was great. Everything was delivered in a timely manner. They were great at taking my rather vague goals for the design, and turning all that into something that far exceeded my needs and expectations.

So many book covers these days seem like the same recycled cliches, especially in historic fiction. Cheesy artwork depicting a woman's back seems to be the worst of them. I was hoping I could avoid the cliches, find something fresh and new, while still having something that conveyed what the novel was about to a potential reader. Emily and the Modment team have the ability to just intuitively and immediately grasp what you're looking for, even if you're not sure yourself.

No. I couldn't have been happier with their service.

Grace was organized from the beginning with asking questions and getting an understanding of what was needed. She and Emily were attuned to my needs while staying clear about what she could offer. They created an agreement for the offer which identified each of our responsibilities. 
They worked to keep it on track and to be flexible when needed. We agreed on a color scheme, fonts, and photos. Grace did the background work for the design and composition. Her motivation was to make it easy and fun for me! She succeeded!

From the moment we started to discuss working with Modment, Emily shared an enthusiasm and excitement like non other that we’ve experienced in their field. Their performance is unmatched. Their personalities are fun and engaging. I didn't think a web design process could or would be fun or interesting but they made it all of that and more and exceeded our expectations in every way.

A few small expenses beyond their own that weren't required but fully necessary (for website owners that aren't so tech savvy such as ourselves) were required in the final stages. Potential to discuss those necessary services earlier on but not a problem at all to cover. They diligently helped us through all these steps and we are graciously in their debt for this. This is not a negative.

Emily and Grace incorporated everything I requested onto the website. The presentation is amazing. They artfully used pictures, developed user friendly forms and incorporated a payment source for ease f those purchasing items.
