RomanoNet was established in February 2017 with the aim of coordinating and uniting the efforts of non-governmental and non-profit organizations working with the Roma minority in the Czech Republic. The mission of RomanoNet is to advocate for an integration policy that emphasizes the respect for human rights, equality, the participation of Roma in public life, and their involvement in decision-making processes.

In 2024, RomanoNet implemented the development of a new website aimed at increasing the visibility, transparency, and accessibility of its work among member/nonmember organizations, and the general public. The website was designed to serve as a central communication hub and resource platform for Roma-related advocacy and civil society collaboration in the Czech Republic.

The scope of work included:

Conducting a needs assessment with member organizations to define content priorities and functionality.
Designing the site architecture and user interface with an emphasis on clarity and usability.
Developing and implementing a responsive, accessible, and GDPR-compliant website.
Creating and uploading key content, including policy papers, strategic documents, press releases, and updates on advocacy work.
Providing training for RomanoNet staff on content management and website maintenance.

The website was developed by a single web developer, who managed the entire process with professionalism and efficiency. All deliverables were completed on time, and communication throughout the project was smooth and responsive.

He was flexible, solution-oriented, and consistently open to feedback. Even after the website launch, he has continued to provide technical support whenever needed. No issues have arisen that weren’t resolved quickly, and his ongoing assistance has ensured the long-term functionality and stability of the site.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What we found most impressive was their personal, reliable, and highly responsive approach. Although the project was carried out by a single developer, the quality of the work matched that of a professional team. He combined technical skill with excellent communication and an ability to understand the needs of a civil society organization working with marginalized communities. His flexibility, speed, and ongoing support made the entire collaboration smooth and effective. It’s rare to find someone who delivers both on the technical and human side of a project with such care and consistency.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Michal Ďorď could have done differently?

There were no issues with the developer’s work or delivery. If anything could have been improved, it would be on our side – it took us some time to learn how to work with the website’s content management system effectively. While clearer internal documentation might have helped, the developer was always available to guide us and answer any questions promptly. Thanks to his support, we eventually became confident in managing the site ourselves.
