We commissioned Memory Squared to design the UX/UI screens for our language learning application. The primary objective was to give this product a modern and professional look while simultaneously improving the user experience. It was extremely important for us to make a language learning experience plausible and engaging for users while having all the necessary functionalities.

The first meeting was a comprehensive workshop focused on identifying the problems with our existing design and UX/UI flow. The Memory Squared team came exceptionally well-prepared; they had already familiarized themselves with our proposed design and brand identity. They also conducted thorough research on our market competition. This level of preparation demonstrated their commitment to understanding our needs and set a positive tone for the rest of the project.

As the design process began, Memory Squared shared their progress with us through Figma. This platform enabled us to see the changes being made in real time and provide immediate feedback. The work was structured into weekly sprints, with virtual meetings held at the end of each week. These meetings summarized the work completed during the sprint and outlined the scope of work for the following week. This iterative process ensured that we maintained a high level of communication and could quickly address any issues or changes that arose.

Each week, the Memory Squared team presented their work, which included new design elements, UX/UI improvements, and enhancements to the overall user experience. They incorporated our feedback seamlessly, demonstrating their flexibility and willingness to adapt to our needs. The project was first discussed in the virtual workshops, where we decided on the changes, started to create a draft of the design, and created the roadmap of changes, considering our schedule and the amount of time needed to develop them. We talked about the product structure, and the Memory Squared team beautifully mixed our suggestions with their experience in this branch, creating a personalised look that reached our expectations. Another workshop was completely dedicated to user journey mapping, in which we heavily trusted the Memory Squared team’s familiarity with modern trends and strategies to make the process clean and smooth for our potential customers.

Then, we cooperated with Memory Squared on the designs itself. The possibility of seeing real-time changes in Figma helped with the coordination, as we didn’t have to wait for the designers to send us their work – we could always open the tab and see them but also leave our real-time comments concerning the changes. The web platform and mobile versions were designed simultaneously, so we could see the differences between them and the impact of the changes. This level of collaboration ensured that our vision was accurately translated into a functional and visually appealing product.

Then we went into the testing stage, in which we also participated. Our employees were also able to test the app on the web and on mobile and leave their own impressions. This gave us a real connection with our work and a mutual understanding between our point of view and the designers’ point of view. We cooperated during the testing stage on perfecting the design and made minor changes to the user journey, as our employees found some features not ideal. The iterative process of testing and feedback was invaluable, as it allowed us to refine the product continuously and address any issues promptly.

Building a marketing strategy for one of our clients, we noticed great potential in applying custom e-commerce processes to their fitness mobile app. As we needed some support in the area of product design focused on effective e-commerce, we reached several software houses, but it was Memory Squared with whom we decided to work. 

They proposed great product workshops to polish our idea and then consulted and designed a great process which is a base for further testing our marketing strategy hypothesis.

Firstly we had met for a long meeting, discussing our startup, its funding reason and our vision for its launching and development. We also started to work on the User Flow, which was done in Figma. After the first meeting we were in constant contact with the UX/UI designer, who sent us the first proposals of the web app layouts. 

We decided to launch the second meeting, where we discussed the first two versions and talked about improvements. After the meeting, another two versions were created and after additional changes we decided to stick with one of them which became the basis for the whole app design and prototype.

After initial discussions we decided to work in 3 design sprints focusing on the product itself, and then one more focused on communication as well as website design. Our plugin works in various environments, it was a difficult platform to develop, so we wanted to fully show its potential and all its features; while simultaneously meeting the requirements of the developers.

After the ideation stage, Memory Squared’s team started to work on these areas of UI which we can control developing IDE’s plugin. They recreated the IDE's environment in Figma and got familiar with all the constraints and differences we had to follow on various platforms. After providing some new ideas we selected a few improvements to deploy. Then the design team assisted us in the development stage providing ongoing consulting.

The project started with a Product Discovery process, creating a workflow and building UX/UI models, then creating the beta version of the application, necessary tests and release of the alpha version. We commissioned Memory Squared to create an application for both Android and iOS.

The most important components of the project were the information provider, where the car owner was able to see their vehicles reviews and repairs history, the review module, where the car owner is able to see the validity of their car review and date of their last car check and the map with car servicers authorized by brand. The backend of the web application was written in PHP Laravel, with React.js used as a frontend framework, while the mobile application was written in React Native, optimized for both Android and iOS.

We have found some minor issues, while testing the beta version of the application, that could have been spotted during app development, but these weren’t issues big enough to address them in the context of the whole project.

Memory Squared provides everything for us, starting from Production Discovery workshops and ending at launching and maintenance of the e-shop. We started with a series of UI/UX meetings, where I presented my vision for the creator and the team started to convert it into a prototype and then into a real, interactive digital product which is now almost released. Developing the functionality of converting the created product onto technical drawings was quite a challenge for both sides.

Through the development period we were working with agile methodology and were constantly engaged in further functionality specification. The project was carried out in the timeline defined by our deadlines and by sincere description of the development team’s time abilities. We came to agreement with deadlines of every stage and both sides were consequent in holding onto them. Although on the discovery stage a lot of specification details were not described yet, after the first few workshops we planned the timestamps of the project and, thanks to the team's commitment and agile work on both sides, they became the frames of the decisions we made about products.

In terms of tools, we were basing completely on Memory Squared implemented workflow, to which we were quickly introduced - it was a github repository for work progress preview and Productive platform for backlog management and communication.

In every project of this scale there will be details, that after implementation are assessed as such that could have been done better - but in case of this project these are relatively small details.
