My husband and I are co-owners of a retail and service outlet for foam products. I handle the behind-the-scenes, and we do foam mattresses, cut foam, health foam products, and more. We’re the home for foam.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mediashaker?

We had a website before, but it didn’t have any shopping functionality. They took on the challenge of working on SEO, Google Ads, and web design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, Mediashaker created our entire website with an online shopping feature for cut foam, which was challenging because it involves different dimensions. They also did a lot of the visuals and graphics — their team did 80% of the content and tweaked anything we gave them to make it more professional.

Also, when they took over the website, they rebranded us. Our company had been around for 25 years, and they set up a new logo, colors, and so on. Additionally, they’ve taken over our Google Ads, and they handle our Instagram and Facebook. On the other hand, Mediashaker is in charge of a subproduct’s marketing, including social media influencers.

Right now, we’re working on some instructional videos for our website to show how to cut the foam, measure it, order online, and more.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 5–6 people, and they have different people depending on the area. There’s a team leader, a social media specialist, a designer, and so on. They all work as a team on the same page and direction.

How did you come to work with Mediashaker?

We searched online and had interviews with three companies in our area. Mediashaker was by far the most professional. The proposal they put forward and how it was presented was outstanding.

We’ve probably spent $80,000–$90,000 CAD (approximately $63,000–$71,000 USD) throughout the engagement.

We started working together in January 2020, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve taken our business to a whole new level, and we’re starting to get more bang for our buck. We used to waste thousands of dollars per month, and now our ROI is a lot higher.

In our first full year with Mediashaker handling our marketing and website, our sales went up 35% over the previous year. Also, all of our social media and marketing now have continuity thanks to the rebranding.

How did Mediashaker perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been fantastic. They stick to the budget and give us a breakdown of the cost. Overall, we all work as a team and communicate through phone calls. We had in-house meetings while they were allowed, and now we use Zoom or Google Meetings. If we have a question, we can email them and get a response in 20 minutes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their level of expertise in online presence is outstanding, whether it’s on marketing or website development. There are many companies in the field, but Mediashaker is professional and knows what they’re talking about. They’re on the cutting edge.

Also, sometimes we’re bogged down by our day-to-day, and Mediashaker has helped us project vision and growth. They take pride in seeing our company doing better — it’s a personal service.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we first started with them, they weren’t focusing much on social media. We told them they needed to address that because it was a huge part of media they couldn’t ignore. They took steps, and now we have a whole team just for that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come with an open mind and listen to their ideas and recommendations. They’re the younger generation, so they’re the ones who you should ultimately be marketing to.

During this time I worked at an advanced textiles and body armour manufacuturer supplying lifesaving and operation equipment to different levels of Law Enforcement, Militaries and Working Dogs. My position was the Business Development Manager but I spent a considerable amount of my time working on software systems and processes to improve operations and this included web development and E-commerce.

We used MediaShaker's CMS and E-commerce platform called ShoutCMS. This handled our website, email marketing, quoting, invoicing, offline and online orders.

What were your goals for this project?

The platform served as our main CMS not just for e-commerce but also to manage leads, accounts, custom projects, purchase orders, payments and so on.

How did you select this vendor?

The MediaShaker team and platform ShoutCMS came highly recommended through an associate who we used for our branding package.

During the time we used the platform we became aware of several changes to the software that would greatly improve our user experience and flow when dealing with complicated and varied government procurement procedures. Several of the changes we requested we developed very quickly at no cost to us. Others were longer processes but MediaShaker deemed them important enough that they would be rolled out over time to all users, again at no cost to us or they could be expedited for a development fee.

We worked with MediaShaker's primary support person and directly with Dragan the Company Owner.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

MediaShakers ShoutCMS platform allowed us to eliminate at least 3 different software programs. This engagement had a particularly large impact on the sales team.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We worked with MediaShaker on an 'as needed' basis.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Customer support was incredible. Barring unusual circumstances the support team responded to all our inquiries and concerns immediately. Routinely the support team member would stay late when he was working on an issue for me just to ensure it was fixed and the problem didn't carry over into the next day.

The site generates much more leads, and clients interact well with it. We don't track metrics, but we've definitely seen an increase in our online activity.

They got back to me and responded quickly. The work was limited on my side, and they did a lot to help us. We communicated over the phone, in person, and through email.

Their ease of communication and transparency made them stand out. They were easy to reach and easy to speak with, and they answered my questions and alerted me to potential issues.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We would have liked more feedback and check-ins from them after the project was finished. We appreciated their input, and we would have liked more comments on changes we could make.

We're a full service flooring and design centre located in Edmonton Alberta. We are a family owned and operated company with over 100 dedicated and passionate employees from sales associates to installers who all work together to bring excellence and artistry to our clients in both products and installation.

Our products range from premium hardwood, to vinyl plank, to custom drapes to home staging. We recently opened up a brand new 40,000 sqft showroom/design centre to better serve our clients and offer more selection to those in Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Mediashaker created multiple webpages for us and continues to service and update them as necessary.

They have developed streamline websites for our business that highlight the products and services that our company has to offer. Our pages host a lot of content with having many products, service, and content that we want to share and the vendor did a great job at creating our vision.

They have continually provided consulting and marketing assistance for our pages and any promotional ads we wish to run on various platforms. We provided the vendor with the information we wished to share and content to compliment it and they did all the rest! They have taken our content to optimize our digital marketing strategy and exposure.

The vendor took much of the work into their own hands with their team of individuals including a project manager, developer, designer, and support individuals.

Mediashaker has helped us to create beautiful webpages that represent our brand well and advertises the products and services that we have to offer to our client.

Their assistance with digital marketing has increased our exposure within our industry and has connected us with many clients looking for flooring and design service providers and retailers.

The results we have received with media shakers assistance have been very valuable to our business. We have increased sales and interest from clients and our brand vision has been shared with the public to set us apart from competitors.

The vendor has met deadlines and completed tasks in a very efficient and quick manner. Their responsiveness is excellence and their willingness to work with us to achieve our goals is high. Our communication has been direct via email, in person meetings and phone consultations which is exactly what we prefer.

I've received outstanding feedback on my websites. The people at Mediashaker worked to make the latest version faster and that speed has shown in improved Google ranking results.

I can't remember an important timeline that's been missed in 13 years. In fact, on the second website I did with Mediashaker, my key contact did some work over the holidays to get it completed in time.
