I’m a product manager for a software solutions company. We provide logistics solutions to Argentina and Latin America.

What challenges were you trying to address with MDEVZ?

We needed help with everything related to development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

MDEVZ provides resources to cover from the most basic to the most complex development tasks for us. They’ve been part of strategic decision-making in our technology changes, especially in our frontend. Moreover, they were in charge of migration when we went from version one to two.

They’ve developed mobile applications using a wide range of technologies. For the frontend, our latest versions are based on AngularJS. On the other hand, everything related to the backend is done using C#, and the team works for Android, iOS, and Ionic for mobile app development. All in all, they use different technologies and adapt to our needs.

What was the team composition?

We’re in direct contact with the founder, and they assign the resources according to our needs.

How did you come to work with MDEVZ?

They were already working for the company when I started working here, so I honestly don’t know anything about the hiring process.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent between $25,000–$50,000 this year. In five years, it’s been between $50,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

They started collaborating with the company around January 2017, and I personally started working with them three years ago. Our collaboration is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since our platform has restricted use and isn’t public, we don’t have traditional success metrics. However, we have large clients using the platform, which is evidence of its effectiveness. Moreover, we’ve had success cases with our clients. One of them mentioned that the platform helped eliminate Excel file sharing between logistic departments, delivery planning and traceability, reducing transportation costs, and more.

How did MDEVZ perform from a project management standpoint?

Our agreement is based on a monthly set of hours. MDEVZ bills the number of monthly hours, which we compare with our tasks control on Jira. They always respect the agreed budget, so we’ve never had any issues. The team meets the tasks and is qualified, so they always do a great job.

We communicate using Discord, and Jira is our project management tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They know how our business works, so it’s like working with our own developers. In fact, they comply even more than our internal team members. MDEVZ does an excellent job, and we trust them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I honestly don’t have any comments in that regard. Nowadays, the technology space rotation is high, slowing down the processes. MDEVZ keeps the same developers for a long time, so we haven’t struggled. They should keep working that way; it’s a great plus.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Although it depends on your technical skills, it’s important to be informed about the latest technologies. Don’t stick to old ways or choose technologies just because you know them; do what’s best for your business.

We're a Digital Consulting firm specializing in Data Science, ECommerce, Strategy and Global Engineering. I am a Co-Founder and Managing Partner.

For what projects/services did your company hire MDEVZ?

We needed help with machine learning and other data science modeling. This includes data engineering activities as well as MLOps.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Mauro and MDevz have a history of success on projects both big and small. In addition, we felt that our data scientists worked well with his team.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We needed to build a prototype to demonstrate the idea that a model could work for our specific scenario. Once the prototype was built and some initial use cases were solved, we decided to invest more in the solution and expand the scope of the project.

4-6 Resources from Project Management, Data Engineering, Development and Data Science disciplines.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The prototype was successful so we are now building out a full model.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They are extremely flexible and capable of operating with our top data scientists and we have found a lot of value in that.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their leadership and flexibility in the way they work are outstanding.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing I can think of.
