They understood our business very quickly and developed a concept. Together we explored new aspects and implemented them. The response time of the Madbold team was excellent, all tasks were implemented on time and within the budget.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I have seldom experienced an agency that understands its craft so well. Madbold uses the latest technologies and is an absolute exception on the market when it comes to branding design. Matbold employees were true experts in the field of visual communication.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Matbold could have done differently?

When I look back on our joint project, there is no point that I consider an improvement today. When working with professionals like Matbold, there is little to complain about. Not only are they quick to understand the business, they are also very quick to understand what you, the client, actually want.

I’m the global head of marketing and growth for GuideVision. We’re a business technology consultancy exclusively focused on the implementation of ServiceNow, an IT business management platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Matbold?

We wanted to upgrade our marketing efforts to an international level and develop a new brand identity, which would be integrated into a new web page and sales materials. Our company also wanted to be competitive against well-known global brands in our industry. To do that, we hired Matbold. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we developed our brand strategy. Then, we asked Matbold to implement it via visuals and designs. They created a completely new brand identity and design for us, including a new logo and graphic elements. Moreover, the team built a comprehensive brand book that included graphic standards, sales materials like PowerPoint presentations, and sales stationery. From there, Matbold developed a completely new web page for us. They used InVision to build the page. 

Since then, we’ve been using their services for any new landing pages, brochures, and leaflets — they create every new sales and marketing materials we need. 

What is the team composition?

We work directly with Matija (Founder & Creative Director), who leads the project. A copywriter, an account manager, and a few designers also work on the project. In total, we work with a team of 5–6 people.

How did you come to work with Matbold?

We heard about Matbold from our colleagues in the marketing industry. They mentioned the team quite often. Meanwhile, we also ran a tender and invited a couple of other agencies. Ultimately, we chose Matbold.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around €90,000 (approximately $95,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Matbold in October 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We've been able to sell our firm to a huge Indian tech corporation. The rebranding has helped tremendously with the sale. On top of that, we have a regular inflow of about 4,000–5,000 monthly visitors. We’re also getting highly positive feedback on the design of our web page. 

How did Matbold perform from a project management standpoint?

Matbold has a good team, and they’re stable. There’s no fluctuation in their composition — we still work with the same people. All of them are helpful, and we’re truly happy with them. 

Moreover, they’re in Prague, so we can meet them face to face. Otherwise, we use emails on a daily basis. For more urgent things, we call each other. We also have a Slack channel for our hourly communication.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can be a bit less expensive. To be fair, they provide good quality for their premium price.

I’m the CEO and founder of Morph Networks, a Serbia-based company that does web and software development. We also provide e-commerce support mainly for the US markets.

We needed a complete branding strategy for our company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I sat down and talked with Matija (Founder & Creative Director) to help him get a feel of our company, our values, and what we do. We really just had a lot of conversations to try to nail down how we wanted to present ourselves online. I wanted to emulate a look and feel that was similar to Apple — something clean, simple, and sophisticated. He and his team created drafts, and once we settled on a creative direction, they took that and worked on it. 

Matbold did our entire brand identity and designed all of our digital and non-digital assets. Their team created a logo and selected a font style that we could use across all of our media. They also helped us design the new website that we were setting up. 

We focused more on our digital brand since we don’t market much here in Serbia, but they did brand our office materials and other items related to employer branding such as caps, pens, notebooks, and the like. 

What is the team composition?

I mostly communicated with Matija, and I believe he had around 3–4 people on his creative team. 

How did you come to work with Matbold?

They were recommended to me by another company that I had a working relationship with. Out of all of the companies we considered, Matbold was on the higher end in terms of how much we had to pay. However, we’d tried doing branding with a cheaper agency in the past, and their work ended up needing to be redone a couple of years later. That’s why we decided to hire them. 

How much have you invested with them?

It was just shy of $36,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–June 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Matbold really hit the nail on the head with the whole look and feel of our brand. It intersected well with our company values. Everybody who saw the new designs gave positive feedback about it. Our clients liked our new logo as well. We’ve yet to launch our website, but we’re sure that the reactions for it will be more or less the same. For the most part, we’ve only heard good things. 

How did Matbold perform from a project management standpoint?

If every company I worked with operated the same way as Matbold, I’d be a much happier person. They guided us through the process, step by step, and honored every deadline that they set for themselves. In my experience, it’s a common thing in design that providers will usually break the deadline by a few weeks, which is a pain point for me. I never had to worry about that with Matbold, though.  

We communicated through Slack, Zoom, and Google Meet. They came to our office once as well. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Aside from being very professional, what stood out about Matbold was how they were able to get a good sense of what we needed. All of our conversations amounted to a logo and brand that speaks volumes about our company. They ticked all of our boxes on the first try and produced clean, sophisticated designs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren’t any downsides. It was a very good experience. We’re definitely going to use their services again in the future. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be ready to pay a high-end price if you want a high-end product because everything we got from Matbold was top-notch. If you want to save a few bucks on your rebranding, though — which I would never recommend — then they may not be the company for you. They may be expensive, but they’re way better than most of their competitors.

I am the CEO of Games Farm, an independent game development studio specializing in developing premium cross-platform titles for PC and consoles with a portfolio of over 20 titles released to date.

For what projects/services did your company hire Matbold, and what were your goals?

We hired Matbold to create new visual identity and website for our company. Our goal was creating high quality presentation to match the quality level of our products and reflect our new brand positioning.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We approached several brand development studios. From the two finalists we selected Matbold because of their communication, brand development portfolio and demonstrated expertise in UX/ UI.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

We shared finding from our brand positioning workshop and internal research with the agency during the kick off meeting. After several interactions we were certain that the agency understands our brand and our goals and intentions clearly.

Agency followed immediately by almost perfect iterations of new brand identity concepts and we chose one from the three directions. We were excited about all of them so it took some decision making on our part. The selected concept was most corporate of all, but agency was very open to explore possibilities to create a very playful brand world that is reflecting our brand values.

We worked directly with the founder and creative director and the project manager allocated to our account.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The team finally feels we have adequate company presentation matching the quality of our games. We received many positive responses from the internal team as well as from our external network and we plan to run separate PR announcement to improve the visibility of our company to the wider audience and finally improve the position of Games Farm within the gaming industry.

From the kick off meeting we communicated with the top management team of the agency and the creative process was led by the agency’s founder and creative director, who was present at each meeting during brand and web development stage. Our feedback was always implemented quickly and efficiently

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their proposals demonstrated clarity of thought and presented the distinctive directions where we could take our brand. We received some good strategic and creative thoughts from Matbold which we later utilized for the final results.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There are always things to improve but it is all about the communication and efforts of the both sides. We are really satisfied with the process and happy with the result, which you can see on our website :)

After several meetings, they drafted a visual identity and digital campaign. Then they came up with advertising plan that included print and digital media efforts. Their also worked hard on our social media marketing efforts.

Festival attendance was 50% higher than expected.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had weekly meetings to go over progress. We communicated over email regularly, they gave me updates for each step. Everything was always processed on time and exactly as agreed.

They were creative thinking, had a professional approach, and delivered superior solutions.
