I’m the COO and representative of an organization that teaches people English.

What challenge were you trying to address with Massive Kinetic?

We needed someone to provide us with custom software development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our main project with Massive Kinetic is building a platform that provides online teaching services that develops listening skills. Through this platform, we can present students with videos from TV shows and movies, and ask them what they understand from the content.

We started the project by discussing the requirements, to which we had to make some adjustments. They then presented us with their design ideas and consulted with us on the different features they wanted to implement.

They first custom-built an administrative system, which allows us to apply any changes to the backend as the development progresses. They then implemented our customer database and developed the project from scratch using Python.

Massive Kinetic is still providing us with maintenance services because we still have a lot of ideas we want to apply and aspects of the product we want to change.

We have one main contact from their team, but we’re also working with a whole team of developers in the backend.

They were recommended to us by one of our employees.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent around $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The ongoing partnership started in July 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The number of new users we gained after launching the product increased to about 30%. They exceeded our expectations, considering the fact that we would communicate with them on midnights just to polish the product before launch.

They feel like a significant extension of our team rather than an external contractor, so we’re 100% satisfied.

How did Massive Kinetic perform from a project management standpoint?

We use the scrum methodology for this project which they managed excellently. We typically communicate through Zoom and we use JIRA as our main project management tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re an important part of our software development efforts, and we’re very impressed with how they take full accountability for the product.

They don’t just do what we ask them to, they present their own ideas and suggest better options for the betterment of the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could onboard more people because we would like to do more projects outside of this product.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would suggest being open to the team’s suggestions and listening to their advice.

- it was mainly done by myself - arranged nicely, all necessities from the contractor were done in timely matter

- they are always staying in touch - reliability on making sole decisions upon minor task matters - hardworking professionals

Are there any areas for improvement?

- better time calculations for quite a few tasks. Majorly all done in time - i would have been glad to understand how quick additional resources might be dedicated before we've signed a contract.
