I'm technology consultant for a furniture manufacturer and retailer that recently started selling their new line of products online.

For what projects/services did your company hire Markupus, and what were your goals?

We have hired Markupus to develop a new ecommerce site that sells ready-to-assemble furniture (RTA), a form of furniture that requires customer assembly, similar to IKEA and Swyft. We needed to create an eCommerce website from scratch that will allow our clients to order furniture they want quickly and easily. The client will choose the products and colour and will be able to purchase it online.

We found Markupus on Clutch, as a top-rated WordPress development company. We then spoke to the team and were impressed with their knowledge and experience. The deciding factors to working with Markupus were their understanding of the project, their proactive approach, and their positive attitude to everything we suggested.

We asked Markupus to create the custom WordPress/WooCommerce template based on the designs and specifications provided, to install WordPress, WooCommerce and all the additional plugins to achieve the functionality and design provided and make modifications based on the SEO requirements.

It is was also important for us that the site would be totally mobile friendly and that the design will be pixel-perfect. Since some of the features we required weren't available out-of-the-box using plugins, we also required the developers to write custom code for some of them.

First of all we have shared the specifications document with Markupus and they provided is with an estimate of the time that this project would take. In that estimate they stated minimum and maximum hours for each task so that we understand the approximate cost. We have split the scope of work into 3 stages and established a deadline for each one of them.

After that we gave them the green light and provided them with an access to our staging server, where they installed WordPress and created custom template.

A project manager, who was our first point of contact, and 2 full-stack WordPress developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have contacted Markupus in July, and it was very important for us to launch the website on September 15th. They have allocated 2 experienced full-stack WordPress developers for the project in order to finish development on time.

The Habbio website is now fully operational, and the user visiting it seem to have great user experience as it is fast, user-friendly and secure.

We had a weekly calls with the project manager and lead developer, where we discussed what have been done so far and what is planned to be done by the end of the week. They have also created a Slack channel for the project manager, the lead developer, and myself to discuss ongoing tasks and urgent questions. Every Friday I was receiving time reports about the work completed during the week, so that all the process was transparent and clear.

At the end of each month the monthly work & time report was sent to me.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I work with many developers and software development agencies, and Markupus is one of the best agencies I had the pleasure to work with so far. Their attitude is amazingly positive and they are transparent, professional, and highly knowledgeable. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to build a WordPress or a WooCommerce website and I already plan to hire them for other projects myself.

Not really - this is one of those rare cases where I don't have improvement suggestions.

As a start up in a visual field we wanted to ensure our website stood out as professional and slick, and also had the capacity to grow as our portfolio developed, able to accommodate a lot of video. Also, with all the other work involved in a new business, I didn't have time to build it myself. I wanted a web designer to build me a site with solid foundations and a great look, that I could then manage myself.

I looked for web designers locally through referrals and searches. I also used Bark to look further afield, which is where Markupus came in. They seemed the most engaged and the keenest for our business. Their price was comparable to other companies I spoke to but their communication was better. Their previous work looked good and they seemed hungrier.

After sharing several examples of websites I admired and a discussion of what I needed, Markupus went away and came back with a prototype. This was pretty basic, and I wasn't sure this was what I wanted. I drew up a version on paper, and referred more specifically to different examples and we worked from there, through various revisions.

Even though we started quite far apart Markupus worked hard to understand what I needed and create something that works really well. I can be exacting and they implemented my requirements and communicated really well throughout.

My contact was all through their business manager, but was told two different designers worked on the project.

I'm yet to launch my website publicly at this stage as I still have content to add - however, I've very confident thanks to the interface Markupus gave me that I can do so and continue to manage my website easily. At present I'm very happy with the design and usability of the site.

The project manager was very communicative, predominantly using Slack to stay in touch, with regular video calls.

Markupus was very committed to working through it until finding something that worked for me as a client. They implemented changes very quickly, and were also able to be flexible when my own work meant I couldn't give them as much attention.

The initial design didn't meet my expectations, and I would have benefitted from greater clarity at this stage - I wasn't sure if this was a proposal or just an outline. However, I can't stress enough that Markupus's communication and dedication meant that after that initial difficulty, they ensured they worked closely with me to create something that I'm delighted with.
