The scope of work for securing an electron desktop application involves implementing encryption and bytecode transformation techniques. Encryption will be applied to communication channels, local storage, and specific data elements within the application to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access. 

Bytecode transformation will involve converting the original code into an intermediary bytecode representation, applying code obfuscation and optimization techniques to enhance performance, protect against reverse engineering, and make the code more difficult to understand and exploit. 

The combined implementation of encryption and bytecode transformation will strengthen the security of the electron desktop application, safeguarding data integrity and confidentiality while mitigating the risks of unauthorized access and code analysis.

Helped us create a 2 minute long feature animation describing how a product work. This animation will also be used in a TV advert and FAQ of how the product works. Additionally they also provided still 3d renders at a photorealistic level. Continuing we are currently working on a software development project for a mobile phone app which interacts with an IoT device and the software that is on the SOM on the device also

• Deliverables had to be a 3d animation and stills according to our preference, angles, lighting etc 
• The app is being built the requirements we provided, which are consistently being met

They overdelivered. Working long hours and nights to get requirements in urgent cases. For example we needed the animation video earlier then expected to show to investors. They overdelivered and worked nights in order for us to complete this earlier then expected. They are great with the project management.

The personal touch. Can have a meeting anytime I have any questions. The employees speak with respect and are very friendly and know how to do their job. They are able to understand the work and — best of all — they overdeliver on the quality. It was amazing.

The team was tasked with building a 30-page plus website from our Figma designs. The site was aimed at an older demographic and so had certain specific requirements in the form of font size & weight and colour combinations. The brief was created by the PR communication agency, which we followed precisely and expected Mak-IT to do the same. 

Due to tight timescales, there was very little room for error or for functionality that didn't work first time. The site itself was not overly complex in terms of the technology used, it was a medium-sized WordPress development but had to be delivered on time and to the highest standard matching our approved designs. The key deliverables were:

• 30 plus WordPress-designed pages covering multiple sections within the overall site 
• Some designs had to be made by the developers themselves due to short timescales 
• the site was hosted by a third party, and the development team had to liaise with them to get the hosting environment configured correctly. 
• Changes to the original designs had to be made on the fly due to changing customer requirements

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• The site was delivered on time and on budget, to the complete satisfaction of the PR company that recommended us and the client, who could not be happier with the final outcome. We expect to see a huge uplift in visitors to the new site as it is demonstrably better designed than the previous site it is replacing.

The management of the project was excellent from start to finish. Having worked with Mak-IT Lbs for over three years now, we developed a good working partnership. I can communicate daily with the whole team and individually with the actual site developer via Slack. The developer was extremely flexible and tried to accommodate my needs, for example, the time difference did not phase him and on some occasions, he worked into the night to get a particular job done to meet an upcoming deadline.

I am very impressed by their desire to help me to achieve whatever I need to do, within the timelines that I am given. I am also very impressed by their deep understanding of the technology and their ability to leverage that knowledge on my behalf and contribute positively to the outcome. They don't simply take instructions but proactively suggest ways in which things can be improved or a better way of achieving the same thing. They are always there, always approachable, and always responsive.

I had regular video meetings during the build which helped reassure me that the team was on top of things the whole time. They were attentive throughout the project, I am having trouble thinking of anything they could improve on, (honestly).

Mako IT Lab created a fillable forms solutions for our over 5,000 customers. This provies them the ability to upload business documents to be filled out online and receive responses from clients.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Offered services via phone call. What made them different than other development companies out there was that they had an excellent knowledge of the development I was looking for and their SOW showed they had a clear understanding of what I was looking for.

Developed a high-quality fillable forms solutions software in Ruby. This developement includes admin dashboard, client dashboard, and end user interface. Pdf conversion was used and the created and a fillable forms field creator wasa devleoped that worked very well. Also gave me publishing options like links, email and group email.

So far we have had a great response in our first week of beta. No real issue and people like the UI.

I am Managing Director of a company which provides software solutions for a range of customers and industries, from off-the-shelf implementation to custom application development.

My previous employer had a large enterprise-level piece of custom software which was built over a number of years, and was used by end clients trading over £50m. The team was disbanded as a result of Covid-related redundancies and I set up my own business shortly after. The software was left unsupported and needed some critical work undertaking and Mako IT were on hand to assess the issues, provide a solution. Our goal was to resolve the issues to appease the customer before we moved on to the next stage of development features.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was fortunate to be approached by MakoIT literally one day before I was due to advertise an opportunity for an outsourced development supplier to undertake the works. The introductory call and subsequent presentation by MakoIT demonstrated their depth of skills, knowledge and experience. Once commercials were agreed to suit the customer's budget, we agreed to proceed with this first project and upon successful completion, we would partner up for future works.

The scope of works was to identify, replicate and provide a solution for the known system errors as well as create a clone of the instance with a new brand/theme, database and environment. As the code had been left untouched and unfinished for 2 years, with none of the previous developers available for support or guidance, a key part of the project was for the MakoIT team to learn and understand the extensive code and database. The platform was built in Laravel for the back end, Angular for the front and with a MySQL database. The key deliverables were to provide a clean, re-branded and bug-free version of the application.

I worked with a number of the team from initial sales onboarding, account manager, business analyst and the core developers involved in the day-to-day work.

The measurable outcomes were:

• Bug fixes correctly tested and deployed on time
• The new database is being created, with the key lookup tables remaining with business data but all variable tables being empty
• The new theme is applied across all pages, menus and associated documents

The project management was brilliant. Regular communication without it being too over-detailed, question asked at the right time, proposed solutions discussed before being worked on and regular progress updates both in writing and on video calls.

I was - and still am - impressed about every aspect of MakoIT. Every team member is personable, friendly, knowledgeable and professional, the communication methods and frequencies are exactly as I hoped, the cost of the project work met our budget and the quality of the work is outstanding. I feel fortunate to have MakoIT at the right time as they are the perfect partner for all of our future projects.
