The project developed the strategic and creative foundations for a new CAF Bank brand campaign, designed to build awareness, strengthen consideration and support customer acquisition across the UK charity and social purpose sector. 

Work focused on defining CAF Bank’s distinctive position as a charity-owned, specialist bank and bringing this to life through Banking with Purpose. This included developing the overarching campaign proposition and creative concept, supported by a messaging framework tailored to different audiences and stages of consideration. 

The project also established an audience and segmentation approach, a stronger emphasis on customer stories and positive impact, and illustrative campaign executions across key channels. Together, these provide a flexible and scalable creative framework that could support the initial campaign launch and evolve across future CAF Bank marketing activity.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project established the strategic and creative foundations for Banking with Purpose, including a clear campaign proposition, messaging framework, priority audience segments and a scalable creative approach for future activity. It also provided practical campaign executions that enable CAF Bank to move from strategy into activation. Longer-term success will be measured through increased brand awareness and consideration, campaign engagement, qualified enquiries and applications, new customer acquisition, and ultimately progress towards the banks growth ambition.

Their project management was strong, with open and transparent communication throughout. They listened carefully to our knowledge and feedback and were flexible in adapting the approach as the project developed, while remaining confident in their own strategic and creative thinking. The process always felt collaborative and fluid rather than overly rigid. Delivery remained on schedule throughout, and at several stages the project was actually ahead of plan. Overall, they were responsive to our needs, easy to work with and created a genuine sense of partnership.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed us most was how quickly they immersed themselves in our business and genuinely ‘got’ what we were trying to achieve. They took the time to understand not just our objectives, but our organisation, audiences and purpose. Their culture and values also aligned closely with our own, which created a strong sense of trust and made collaboration feel very natural. It felt less like a traditional client-agency relationship and more like a genuine partnership.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Make Us Care could have done differently?

There were no significant areas for improvement. The creative concepts and visual direction were strong from the outset. Some of the initial copy required further refinement to fully capture our tone and messaging, but given the pace of the project and their responsiveness to feedback, this never became an issue. They adapted quickly, incorporated our comments effectively and kept the project moving forward without compromising quality.

We were struggling to get people to sign up for our streaming services platform, so we needed someone to assist us with optimizing our landing pages.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Make Us Care helped us onboard people to our platform by optimizing landing pages and also assisted us in reducing our costs per acquisition. Their work included ad targeting setup, paid ad strategies, and professional advice to improve our conversion rates.

We started by having initial discussions to define the project’s scope, where we gave them a brief of what we wanted and decided to use Unbounce for the landing page’s design. They also helped us roll out some of the ad assets we had in combination with their suggestions to attract more people to our platform.

We worked together from November 2021–March 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to their work, we reduced our costs per acquisition by 40%, so our signup process was cheaper, which enabled more people to use the app. Moreover, their team was very helpful and proactive in providing their insight for better results rather than just sticking to what we asked them.

How did Make Us Care perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything was on time and within budget. In addition, communication was great; we had weekly catch-up calls to review the process and were able to create actionable points from each call to review our strategy and areas for improvement.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very approachable, listened to what we needed and what we were looking for, and were more than happy to provide additional assistance, which enabled us to develop more ideas and move things forward.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I didn’t think there was anything they could’ve done better because we weren’t dissatisfied with anything about their performance.

Speak to them and ensure that they’re aligned with your needs. Overall, I truly recommend them.

I am the MD and Owner of Cotton Comfort. Cotton Comfort’s purpose is to help people who suffer from eczema or other itchy skin conditions by providing super comfortable organic cotton clothing and a supportive helpful online community.

Our goal was to update our brand and create a brand story book to support this for us to use across our business.

How did you select this vendor?

We looked at several brand agencies and had presentations from a few of them. We loved the idea of building stories and found MUC to be refreshingly open, enthusiastic and well priced.

We held a couple of brainstorming sessions to inform them about our company and what we are all about. They did some really useful customer interviews which provided fantastic input to the project. They came up with a range of suggestions on logo and created 5 stories to support the brand / business. All of these then were presented to us and became part of a brand story book which outlines how we use the brand. They have also helped us develop collateral for events and templates for documents & emails etc.

We had several people working on the project - Callum led it, with support from Alexandria and Joey on the technical and logo stuff. Amanda developed the 5 stories.

Had great feedback from customers and suppliers and our website has improved its conversion rate and traffic. Feel much more confident now about investing in advertising / marketing with our new branding.

Good communication and generally very helpful. Slight delays at times but mainly due to Callum getting married!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were really committed and learnt a lot about the company. They were flexible and accommodating when we made lots of changes to the logo. Overall a great result within our quite tight budget.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Provide assets that were really easy to use - we still find that the font we use doesn't work on a lot of printers so we have to save docs as pdf before printing.

We have used make us care for various digital marketing projects but this particular project was to profile our existing work force, design a recruitment campaign to recruit 200 new employees at trade level. The scope included designing and producing video content as well as establishing most relevant channels and managing the distribution of the content, the relevance of responses and reporting to our board on success at local level including reporting on areas not engaging in the process.

The first stage was to carry out in person interviews with selected site teams to understand the good and bad of working for Bell. 2nd stage was to carry out an electronic profile on 100 staff to establish typical employee patterns. Stage 3 was to establish the best ways of engagement Stage 4 was design of video content relevant to the target audience and staff 5 was to design a mechanism to gather data on the candidates.

This included ways of communicating with our managers around the country to push information as quickly as possible and monitor when call backs had been made. The 6th stage was coordinating the champagne Finally reporting success

We hired MUC to help us overcome our branding challenges. We have a distinctive look, feel, and tone of voice, but we had 2 shortfalls:

1. Creative assets are limited as we don't have enough devices that can translate from pack to other marketing collaterals.

2. We know who we are and what we represent but didn't have the right words articulated.

We spoke to a few branding agencies but I felt a good connection with MUC. At a personal level, I felt they understood me as the founder and I liked their energy, enthusiasm, and youthful energy. At a business level, I thought their previous work for a nanny-share business was excellent.

1. We now have a brand book with a clear articulation of our mission, vision, tone of voice, assets, etc.

2. We now have refreshed packaging artworks that have devices that we can use across all our marketing collaterals.

They're very relaxed and easy to work with. Extremely organised and timely with their commitments.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I felt they went the extra mile to know me and my vision, getting under the skin of my brand. I didn't feel that they were rushing me to get to the bottom of things as it felt that they understood that a branding exercise is a long process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If I were to nitpick, I'd say maybe a better understanding of our product category cues, which could have helped shorten the artwork devt process. But then again, I could see the advantages of their 'freshness' in the category, otherwise, we could have landed in the same old devices that a lot of our competitors use.

At first I was worried that a small team would take longer to produce the content than expected but as they have been growing whilst I've worked with them the output has been quicker with no drop in quality.
