**The Review** — Apr 3, 2025

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality Labs delivered a visually incredible and sophisticated platform that worked efficiently and correctly. The software was used with children, enabling them to display their skills in the real world. The team was communicative and provided an excellent customer experience.
"“They were spot on.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the CEO of VIZQ. We’re developing an AI-driven speech therapist. Our solution helps children with autism, Down syndrome, and other developmental delays get access to speech therapy inside VR.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?We hired them to custom-build our entire platform, including a HIPAA-compliant front- and backend dashboard. They also built the VR experience and coded the AI algorithm that handles our prompting generator.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Lucid Reality Labs built a custom software that we could deploy and operate independently. They implemented AI algorithms to manage the prompting and workflow of our software. The software would take a child with developmental learning delays or autism and take each step of an interaction. It would give them as much or as little help as they needed every step of the way to complete an activity. We used smart prompting, which cued a child to do a certain action. The algorithm identified correct and incorrect responses and deployed an appropriate prompt to get the child to do it accurately. If there were multiple errors, the algorithm identified those and delivered additional assistance to help them achieve each goal.Over time, as the child became proficient, the AI would identify the best learning method and decrease the levels of assistance. The child would then be able to do it more on their own and eventually step into the real world to perform the new learning skill. When we started testing, they helped us ensure that the system continued to operate properly. We ran thousands of simulated tests to ensure everything worked efficiently and correctly. What is the team composition?I worked with many teammates from Lucid Reality Labs, including their marketing team, development team, CTO, CEO, UX/UI developers, and Unity developers. Willy and Stas were also part of the team. How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?I found them on Clutch. I scheduled a meeting, and their CEO took that initial meeting with me. We discussed the project and what we wanted to build. It was exciting for both of us. I shared a drafted blueprint of what we wanted to build, and they scoped it out and gave us a fair price. We used three other companies to gauge our choices and went with Lucid Reality Labs. How much have you invested with them?I spent around $110,000 on their services. What is the status of this engagement? The project lasted from September–December 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The product was visually incredible and sophisticated. It was a brand-new technology. We could interact with a child in real-time and collect live data within milliseconds in the backend dashboard. We used it with children, and they could display their skills in the real world after using the software. How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?Overall, they were great. They were highly communicative with us. Every time we had a need, they stepped in and took care of it immediately. They were a fantastic team to work with. It was a great experience throughout. We communicated constantly with them and had multiple meetings every week. They showed us the product, let us test it, and sought our insights to ensure they built what we wanted. We used a combination of Slack, email, and Zoom calls. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Willy and Stas truly helped us bring the project to life. What did you find most impressive about them?I was impressed with many things. The whole team supported my company every step of the way to maximize the impact of what we were doing. The level of service was impressive. They built an amazing product and delivered an excellent customer experience. They made us feel supported every step of the way.Are there any areas they could improve? No, there weren’t any. They were spot on. They were prompt with all communications and did a great job.Do you have any advice for potential customers? If you don’t ask, you don’t know. If you ask, they’ll bend over backward to give you what you want.

"“They were very flexible and adapted to our needs.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m a senior product manager at a public safety technology company building a VR product.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?We needed to develop a mixed reality (MR) prototype. We wanted to explore the use of MR technology and see if it would perform at the quality we needed to build something for our customers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Lucid Reality Labs developed an MR prototype for us. It was a prototyping effort to evaluate the technology. We provided Lucid Reality Labs with detailed requirements, and they came back with a tentative project schedule. They developed the prototype in Unity and delivered it in biweekly sprints. Throughout the process, we gave the team feedback until they delivered the final prototype. What is the team composition? We worked with a senior Unity developer, a Unity developer, a 3D animator, and a project manager. A technical lead, Willy, was also very involved in the project and joined all of our meetings. How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?I found them on Clutch. I had worked with them previously when I was at another company, which is when I found them. I chose them due to their technical expertise and the other products they had worked on; I was impressed by the quality of their work and the structure of the team. We were looking for some flexibility because it was a prototype, and their proposal accounted for that really well compared to others that we looked at.How much have you invested with them?We spent about $100,000.What is the status of this engagement? We worked together from August–October 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Lucid Reality Labs’ work met our expectations. Since this was a prototype development, we never planned to release it to users, so we don't have quantitative metrics. How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint? They delivered the work on time and on budget. We had some requirements that we didn't expect to fit into the project, and Lucid Reality Labs was able to complete most of them while being ahead of schedule. We communicated via Slack and phone calls and met weekly. They managed the project using Jira and shared an export of their work, the sprint, and task details with me weekly. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?I’d like to give a shout-out to Willy, who worked really closely with us.What did you find most impressive about them? They were very flexible and adapted to our needs. Are there any areas they could improve? There was nothing they needed to improve; the engagement went really well.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Communicate any ideas or changes that you're unsure they can incorporate into the product that you’re developing because Lucid Reality Labs is really flexible. There were times when I thought they wouldn’t be able to do something, but I brought it up, and they made it work.

The app is intended to support clinicians when they are screening newborns to detect risk of congenital heart defect, by calculating a score according to a clinical protocol and display the result. Lucid was also able to directly speak with our IT department with regards to the technical side of the project and data privacy, and adapt to our corporate imperatives.

We’ve worked with four people, mainly project managers. Recently, there have been some changes in team members.

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality Labs’ products successfully conveyed what it was like to have an eye condition. It drew significant attention and engagement during an event, exceeding expectations. They were a determined partner that went above and beyond to overcome challenges and deliver the project.
""Lucid far exceeded my expectations, and they were fantastic to work with.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a Public Affairs Partner at Roche Products Ltd., a global biopharmaceutical company. My work involves engaging with policymakers to help enhance the healthcare system, and working with patient groups to support and partner with them, and bring their voice into the business.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We are focused on raising awareness about the importance of eye health among politicians. It’s not something that gets a lot of noise, yet it’s so central and pivotal to everyday life and human experience.

As part of our drive to raise awareness of the challenges in eye health and drive policy changes that we and our patient group partners wanted to see, we needed someone to build a tool for us that helps people understand what it was like to have an eye condition. We wanted to leave an impact and create memorable experiences for people. We also needed guidance as to which technology (VR, MR, AR) may best fit our needs.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Lucid created a combination of products for us. Our main product was a headset that created a mixed reality experience of what it was like to have an eye condition.

We gave Lucid a list of symptoms and videos showing what it is like to have these conditions, so they knew what we wanted to recreate visually, and we designed an interactive experience for users using this tool.

The products are already completed, but we have Lucid’s support until next year if any issues arise.

What is the team composition?

We communicated directly with Alex (CEO) and Alyona (Project Manager). Ivan (Lead Technical Consultant) and a larger team worked on the software.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I had never done this kind of project before, so I went to Google and I found Lucid through a listing on Clutch. I checked out their website along with other providers, and we narrowed our choices to three vendors.

We talked to all of them to pitch, and we initially awarded the project to a company we had worked with before who understood how pharmaceutical companies and our approval processes for compliance work. We eventually ended up going back to Lucid, and we explained the project and our situation. They agreed to take on the project, and I’m pleased that we went back to them — I wish we had chosen them earlier.

One of the reasons we shortlisted Lucid was their impressive website. There was a particular video there that showed a virtual patient being intubated. I found it appealing, very engaging, and being medical it seemed relevant to what we may want. In addition to this, the calibre of the clients on their site added to their credibility.

What is the status of this engagement?

This was a one off project which lasted from July–October 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We didn’t have any quantitative metrics in mind for this project, other than it being completed by the deadline and having a tool to use at our event. However, I can share feedback from our disease awareness event for policymakers:

The first thing people wanted to try as soon as they came into the room was our headset and they were encouraging their colleagues to try the tool as they were impressed by it. Everyone who tried our tool felt what people with eye disease go through, most of them commented on how disorienting or horrible it must be, and asked what they could do to help. Many of the tweets from attendees featured comments or photos of them trying out the experience with the headset on. The tool drew people in, created a memorable experience, and got across what it was like to have these conditions. The response from attendees to the tool and the engagement it drove exceeded my expectations.

Additionally, we had patient groups that we were working with on the event, and they were so impressed by the headset, they even asked to borrow the headset for their events - we consider that a huge endorsement of Lucid’s work.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Lucid were amazing at project management. They were responsive, and we felt like we were their only clients. We are in different time zones but they would get back to us quickly even outside of their business hours, usually providing responses within minutes.

We set up a group chat on instant messenger, and that was our main way of communicating. Outside of that, we had emails and standing weekly calls for half an hour to raise issues and check in on progress.

They were determined to meet our deadline — they worked late and weekends to try and make things happen. Every time there was a challenge, they were transparent and kept us informed. There was a point where we were ready to give up and move to a back up mobile app solution, but Lucid pushed through and even flew over a replacement headset from Ukraine to London, and they didn’t charge us for the flight and transportation. Had they not done that, and we just went with the mobile application, I know we wouldn’t have achieved the same impact. The key thing about the headset was eye tracking, and that truly got across what happens when you have an eye condition: the visual disturbances follow wherever you look.

Lucid far exceeded my expectations, and they were fantastic to work with. They would be my first choice if we had any similar projects, and I would easily recommend them to anybody.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were determined and responsive. Unlike other providers, they took the time to understand our brief and what we were trying to create. Additionally, they were determined to deliver even when we were ready to give up.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing significant.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear at the outset about how you want them to work with you and behaviours you'd like to see. Be explicit that you want honesty and transparency; at least if you have that, you can plan accordingly as any issues come up rather than being told what problems there were when the project is done or deadlines aren't met and you're not quite happy. Sometimes providers may hide these challenges until later, unless they know you want to hear them.

""Their communication and deliverables' quality have been excellent.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Worldwide Sr. Product Manager for Hemostasis Laboratory Automation, responsible for managing the world’s largest Hemostasis workcell installation base, which features the industry-leading testing system.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Lucid Reality Labs, and what were your goals?

The equipment used in Laboratory Automation is significantly larger than standalone testing equipment so space visualization can be a challenge. The application enhances the experience for our customers by showing them the custom designed solutions proposed by our workflow specialists, so they can easily envision the space and how their workflows will be optimized in the future.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online and shortlisted developers based on positive customer reviews. After interviewing, we ultimately chose Lucid Reality Labs as they incorporated our needs the best into their proposal, were the most detail oriented and provided a very competitive estimate.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

A VR app has been developed from scratch based on our inputs on what works best in the 2D and 3D software we use today. We established a multi-phase approach with key milestones in each. Examples as well as 3D CAD models were provided to the technical team to develop so far 27 main modules, 40 accessories and 6 main structural components in our first Phase which we are now currently testing prior to entering into the 2nd phase and adding additional components and functionality based on test feedback.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Our main point of contact has been with the Project Manager who has been extremely professional and well organized, she facilitates calls when necessary with the development team as well as integrating other individuals for troubleshooting when appropriate. Additionally we have had contact with CEO, CTO & COO during the process for various touch points in contracting and gauging our satisfaction through development.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are currently in the testing phase of our 1st of 3 phases of development, however have shared internally with our organization. The feedback has been extremely positive thus far, the quality of the renderings and the VR experience is impressive. Our marketing and sales teams are anxiously awaiting the release to begin work with our clients.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We have a regular cadence of video calls with the project manager, and schedule as needed through the development for questions and feedback. Communication is mainly through email and these scheduled calls on zoom.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team is highly professional and responsive, the deliverable is of a very high quality as well, we have been very satisfied with the process and work thus far.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only recommendation is around testing, but the availability of devices due to back orders has been a challenge for both of our organizations. Their communication and deliverables' quality have been excellent.

What is the team composition?

I’m in contact with the account manager and a video designer.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

Their project management approach is great. They’re proactive, flexible, and professional. We’d agree on a deadline, and they’re always on time.

They create summaries from the calls. We’re working in a regulated business, and sometimes, we have a lot of things that need to be implemented. They were really flexible on this as well. We have regular meetings. We also use email and phone calls for explaining things. We share files on OneDrive. They’ll have access to our project management system in the future.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their animation design is impressive. They’re very good at it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since we hadn’t worked on many projects together, it took a while for them to pick up our brand guidelines. It’s nothing serious, but something that they could work on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s easy working with them. Give them good details on what it is you want.

**The Review** — Apr 13, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality Labs met expectations, delivering a prototype that mirrored the set scope. The MVP development will begin after more feedback, and the client plans on continuing the journey with Lucid Reality Labs. Their professionalism makes them stand out.
""Lucid Reality Labs has adhered precisely to the scope."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of an AR and VR application company based out of Oman and India. We develop apps for clients.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We do certain projects in-house and outsource others. At this time, we’re in the process of developing a prototype of a concept that I’ve come up with. We’ve established what its target will be and how it will be positioned in the market. We specified what should be included in the prototype based on that.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

As per our scope, Lucid Reality Labs is developing the prototype. There’ve been many challenges in education in the context of COVID-19, and our idea addresses those using the latest technologies in the AR space. It’s a platform that can help people make presentations more effective and immersive.

At this point, it’s more of a conceptual prototype that hasn’t reached the MVP stage. We need to develop it to a level at which it will be understandable to various investors. MVP development will start once we get the right kind of feedback.

We’ve used Unity, WebGL, and HTML.

What is the team composition?

My first interaction was with Eugene (CTO). Once we came to a clear understanding of the scope and the proposal was made, they allocated a project manager.

He’s been the main point of contact during the development stage. They also have someone handling the finance part.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I connected with them through Upwork. Along with their professional client approach, I found Lucid Reality’s availability and responsiveness to be better than other candidates.

I spoke to quite a few other vendors from Upwork, and I found that Lucid Reality knew the business better than the other companies. I come from the same industry, so I know all the jargon.

How much have you invested with them?

The project is in the $50,000–$100,000 range. We’ve defined the minimal scope, and the cost will eventually go up to $100,000 or more.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Lucid Reality in early February 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Lucid Reality Labs has adhered precisely to the scope. I’m satisfied with how they’ve handled the project so far, and I plan to complete the product development journey with them.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

In this respect, they’re excellent. We have update meetings every week, and we use Slack for anything that needs to be clarified quickly. I receive replies from their team within 30-60 minutes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by their clarity in understanding and outlining the scope. Everybody can promise that they can do this or that, but actually understanding the scope and delivering to the point is what I’ve found highly impressive with them. It demonstrates their professionalism.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have something to complain about since they’re going by the scope we’ve defined. At times, I do wish there was more flexibility.

We’ll sometimes skip out some things while planning the scope because we’re in the process of envisioning an idea. If it’s not too big a task, something that would require them to go too much out of their way or require too much resource allocation, I think there should be more flexibility for accommodations.

If they considered that, it would bring us more comfort as a client.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would definitely recommend them. It’s necessary that the client should be clear with what they want to do and what they expect from the vendor.

If that clarity exists, Lucid Reality can use their specialized field to understand the need and create a tangible product.

"“They were amenable and easy to work with, especially during the editing phase of the project.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a partner and CTO at Powers Media, an immersive technology studio and educational content provider.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

Every year, our client, a mail service, releases a bunch of new stamps. We hired Lucid Reality Labs to build a VR experience to promote the release of their new stamps.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They used Unity to build a VR stamp gallery. Through the VR experience, users could navigate the gallery and initiate VR experiences by clicking on certain stamps. Within the experience, users could swim under the sea with sharks, view a total eclipse, fly with the bees, and observe bioluminescence.

We drafted an initial concept with the client and described what we were looking for to Lucid Reality Labs. We provided the stamp assets, but the rest was created by Lucid Reality Labs under our direction.

In addition to the work on the mail service project, they also created a VR training experience to teach people how to change a tire on a car. They also did another experience to teach about climate change.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 3–4 people. Eugene (CTO) was very key in the process, and I think there were a few other project managers that worked with Alex (CEO).

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I found them on Upwork. I interviewed about six prospects, but I liked what Lucid Reality Labs had done before. They had all of the capabilities we needed and were a good size.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from October 2018–June 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The experience was shown at various stamp conventions and many people enjoyed it. There was a tremendous amount of support, interest, and excitement about the experience.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They were communicative and accessible. They were amenable and easy to work with, especially during the editing phase of the project. When we had to change things, they were able to adapt to ensure that everything went smoothly.

They were based in Ukraine, so we communicated over Slack, Skype, and WhatsApp. We usually collaborated with them using our Slack channel.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They understood the project and were very responsive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had no issues.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as transparent and communicative as possible. Teach them what your ultimate goals are and hold them accountable.

**BACKGROUND**

We are creating augmented reality experiences for our clients. I am a Co-Founder.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Lucid Reality Labs, and what were your goals?

We can't give all the details as our patent is pending but we were using A/R in a way that hasn't really been attempted before. The project was very challenging but we knew Lucid Reality Labs would be an excellent partner to make our vision come to life.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select Lucid Reality Labs and what were the deciding factors?

We looked at three firms. Our decision was based on quality, experience, with price also playing a role. We felt LRL was the top choice for all three.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Again, the project is secret but LRL took the time to thoroughly understand our needs and offered us a lot of great ideas which made our ideas stronger. It was truly collaborative. They were also very open to incorporating our suggestions. They were also helpful in helping us make hardware and software decisions.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had a team that included an A/R developer, project manager and support staff as needed.

They were very responsive and proactive. They were always available for zoom calls and answered emails promptly. The project did take a little longer than we initially thought but we were doing some things that had not been done previously in the space so we were okay with the extra time needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were open to incorporating our ideas and working collaboratively. Other companies just sort of hand you the work. It was truly a team effort.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There is always room for every company to improve but there are no specific items that come to mind.

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality Labs’ efforts contributed to improved UX, making for a successful partnership thus far. Not only are they dependable, but they are also able to work well within tight time and requirements constraints.
""Lucid Reality Labs is extremely reliable."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of Wild Dots Communication. We offer property technology (PropTech) and digital marketing for real estate.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We wanted support with our real estate solutions.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve done quite a few projects with them. Lucid Reality Labs provided solutions to help new home buyers understand what new developments were going to look like in the future.

They provided mobile AR apps for iOS and Android to allow the new home buyers to understand the space that they’re living in by projecting the space in front of them. They did everything from scratch. The only thing we provided them was a set of architectural plans.

The team also provided us with similar services for us to win certain bids. We were in competition for certain projects with our clients and our clients were looking for some different out-of-the-box solutions.

Additionally, we’re designing an online home configurator where new home buyers can configure their home online. They can configure a space and choose materials from the comfort of their own home on their laptop or mobile.

Lucid Reality Labs has helped us immensely with that because they have that 3D expertise, so they provided solutions to optimize the UX.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Alex (Founder & CEO) and Eugene (CTO), as well as project managers.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

We looked online for AR/VR solutions and came across their website. We fell in love with their website because it was really out there in terms of the ideas that they were putting forth. It caught our attention immediately. We reached out to them and asked them to have a call.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent roughly $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in October 2017, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

For the 3D project, they were able to maximize the UX for users online. If we see good results in terms of UX and user flow, we know the project has been successful. It’s been a fruitful experience.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly use Slack, email, and phone to communicate. They deliver quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lucid Reality Labs is extremely reliable. They’re an amazing team and they’re wonderful to work with. In general, we are a difficult client, meaning that we always come with really big challenges and complicated briefs with extremely tight deadlines, and they always deliver. So, overall, we’re very happy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They deliver great quality and great work, but we’re always trying to tighten up our budget. That would be the only thing. However, when the work is great, you have to pay for it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Leave Lucid Reality Labs to be creative and find great solutions for you. Don’t come to them with a cookie-cutter brief; allow them to listen to your challenges and find the solutions. They will come up with something great.

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality Labs’ deliverables have been met with a positive response from users, resulting in over 1,000 sign-ups and several downloads. They communicated frequently to keep the internal staff abreast of the project progress, and their ability to deliver high-quality designs was noteworthy.
""They were fast but also thorough."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-owner of a company that sells different products including gifts for little girls.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We sell classic gifts for children, and that’s a busy market that has been around for a while. We wanted to introduce something a bit more high-tech, updated, and futuristic and combine that with the old classic gifts. For example, bringing a music box to life with AR.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Lucid Reality Labs helped us to produce and upload animated videos about 1 minute long. They then linked them to a target image, which was our product, and brought them onto our app.

When the gift recipient points their iPhone, iPad, or Android at the product, it brings it to life with an AR experience and projects it as if it was really in the room. They also developed the iOS and Android app for us, and they started from scratch; we only gave them a few graphics to help them with the UI.

One of the experiences, a dancing ballerina, was a 3D AR experience, and Lucid Reality Labs built and animated the model of that using Unity.

What is the team composition?

I initially worked with Alex (Founder & CEO) to scope the project. I then worked with Eugene (CTO) and a project lead.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I found them through a Google search and noticed some of the work on their website I thought they were the best fit with the best experience.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from October–November 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app has a screen for people to sign up, so we’ve already collected over 1,000 emails. We can also see the number of downloads and we get reviews on Amazon and our website, and the feedback has been good. The customers think that it improves the quality of the gifting experience.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Our communication with our project manager was excellent. We were on a Slack channel with them, and they communicated every hour to give me updates. We also used email and Skype. Their communication was very strong. Lucid Reality Labs pushed me proactively, which was great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their work speed and ethic were impressive. They were fast but also thorough. Lucid Reality Labs kept the project moving well on course with the goals, and the quality of their work was great. Additionally, the design of the app and graphic experiences was top-class.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we didn’t have any problems.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go ahead and get in touch with Lucid Reality Labs. They’re a great company to work with. They will meet your needs, but if they can’t, they’ll give you an honest appraisal about what they can and can’t do.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We wanted to develop an AR application for our research project that we're using to drive engagement.

They created an AR application that allows us to augment objects, specifically on iPad to provide a place to engage with products before purchase. The app allows the individual to either through an iPad or through the Magic Leap glasses to augment their objects. In a retail environment, customers are typically looking for additional information about products such as reviews and social media posts.

This app allows the individual to project or augment the object in a retail store with additional digital content. Through the iPad or glasses, an individual can see reviews as well as different customization options, price comparisons, reviews, and their social media content displayed on their screen. It allows individuals to have a holistic idea of products. They built the app from scratch for iOS and Android as well as Magic Leap.

What is the team composition?

I worked initially with Alex (Founder & CEO) and Eugene (CTO). Afterward, we were connected with a team lead and his team who were working on the application.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I initially drafted a proposal and posted it on Upwork. There, I got connected with Alex who sent me a demo of a previous project of theirs. I thought this would fit quite nicely especially because it was very similar to what we’re doing.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019–October 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a very good job. Even though they completed the project in the summer, they continue tweaking aspects of the solution to best fit our needs.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They kept in contact with us to make sure everyone was on the same page. We met with them several times over Zoom, but the majority of the communication was done via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were proactive and happy to change things when needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. It was quite a good relationship.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have an idea before discussing things with them. Know what your end goal is. They were very good at helping us raise the bar, but it’s better for them to know what you want at the very beginning.

**The Review** — Sep 25, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality Labs delivered high-quality work at a great price, resulting in customer satisfaction. Their work generated revenue for the business and was successful in the eyes of the third-party clients. Not only was the team organized, but they were also flexible and specialized in their methods.
""The visual fidelity of their products is very high."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Wheelhouse Media is a production company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. My official title is head of VR/AR or head of immersive technology.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We needed to create a VR music album. The concept was to create 360-degree videos for different tracks. These were the very early days of VR, around 2016.

This label company was representing a music group called, and they wanted to do 10 different VR tracks, one for each song in the album, and release them as an Android and iOS app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We dove deep into the details of what would and wouldn’t be included, based on the client’s overall goal. Lucid Reality Labs made a lot of recommendations based on their development experience, in terms of what was the right platform to use, and what the right architecture was.

There was a discussion on whether we wanted to have the videos embedded into the app. Users would then need to download a large app, but the playback would be immediate.

The alternative would be to host the videos on the cloud and stream them, but that would present a bandwidth issue for people on the road and without access to Wi-Fi, and those connections wouldn’t be suitable for a proper viewing experience.

Lucid Reality Labs did the research to ensure that we would pick a good option. The core application was built with Unity, and the big benefit there was that we could deploy it to both stores, as per the client’s requirement. The cloud infrastructure was built on AWS.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Alex (Founder & CEO), Eugene (CTO), and a product manager. My daily or biweekly contacts were with the product manager. Every so often, I would interact directly with the developers.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I believe I initially found them on a platform for software contractors. Prior to this one, I was working on a personal project, and I found Lucid Reality Labs. I wanted to turn that into a startup, but I decided to drop it after a few months.

The work itself was great, so, when I had this request from Wheelhouse, they were my first choice. I knew they’d do a great job of delivering.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent $220,000–$230,000 on their services so far, across several projects.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started this project in January 2016. My relationship with Wheelhouse ended in February 2020, when COVID-19 started and they weren’t able to produce videos anymore. Otherwise, I have little doubt that we’d still have ongoing projects there. I still do projects with Lucid Reality Labs outside of Wheelhouse.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Lucid Reality Labs is one of the few companies I’ve worked with that has a relatively low cost without compromising quality. They have a high level of quality, delivery, and communication matched with pricing that allows me to be profitable. That’s why I keep going back to them.

All of our deliveries have been successful. We have high levels of customer satisfaction, and there were a few instances where the project led to more business with the customer. Specifically, the candy manufacturer client deployed the application we built for them internally, to all their employees.

The app was pushed to about 30,000 phones, as part of an internal marketing effort, and it was a big success. They’re looking to roll it out publicly now, which in itself is a testament to the quality of Lucid Reality Labs’ work. We were extremely happy with the revenue generated as a result of their work.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very organized from the onset. After scoping, they provided us with a detailed development schedule with the cost. It was easy for us to communicate that to the client, as well as to make sure that we had a large enough buffer when we priced it in order to include our own overhead.

Lucid Reality Labs has product managers responsible for every project. I always have a point person to talk to and get weekly updates from. I used to be a programmer myself, so it was relatively important for me to stay close to the technical decisions.

They were flexible in this sense, and they were happy to accept it whenever I asked to be involved in technical discussions. Even when we had a long process of scoping out a project, the team never charged me for it.

It’s common practice to charge for this, and there were many times when Lucid Reality Labs had to scope a project that didn’t turn out to be accepted. It’s just the nature of selling.

Being able to outsource everything to do with development, including technical scoping and creating statements of work, is good even if just one out of seven projects is accepted by the client. Lucid Reality Labs was incredibly helpful on that side.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with the quality of content. I’ve seen companies with people that could do many things. They didn’t have specialists; they just had generalists, so the quality of individual tasks wasn’t extreme.

With Lucid Reality Labs, if they need to do a character or environment design project, it’ll be very high quality. I gave them a project to model a camping site in the middle of a forest, and they did a beautiful job.

Beyond the technical aspects of software development, there’s also the visual artistry of it. A lot of their team members came in from the gaming industry, and that adds a lot to it. The visual fidelity of their products is very high. I often feel I’m working with an art studio, not a software company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are always things to improve. Lucid Reality Labs was a much smaller company in 2016, when I started working with them. I don’t know how big they are today, and I don’t want to frame this as an area of development, but one of the things that changed was that their process became more standardized.

One of the fun things about working with them when we first started was my relationship with Alex. It was fun to work together. Right now, I’m mostly working with product managers and sometimes with Eugene. That’s not really a point of improvement. I'm impressed with their delivery and cost.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I would recommend working with Lucid Reality Labs on the technical level, and trust them at the artistic level. I’ve found that they have a lot of great ideas, and, if they’re given enough rope, they’ll do great work.

I’ve recommended them to a friend that develops VR meeting spaces, and they designed all the environments and avatars for those. My friend had a clear idea of what he wanted, and, when he let Lucid Reality Labs run with their own ideas, they came back with much better suggestions and designs.

""Don’t be afraid to ask for the impossible because they’ll come up with an answer."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of an advertising agency.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We’re always looking at new technologies, and we were recommended to talk to them because we wanted to do an augmented reality project.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

One of our clients wanted to do something with augmented reality using 5G cellular technology. We came up with an idea to create an avatar using AR capabilities. We wanted to transport full-body animation over cellular networks in real-time to a location anywhere in the world. For example, if you're on your cell phone walking around and you want to have a live DJ or live dancer in front of you that's being driven in real-time, you can do that.

Lucid Reality Labs built all of the technology for this project. This included a mobile application for iOS and Android, a cloud application, and a host application which was connected to the human models we used.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a team of about six people.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I did some research, and they were mentioned several times.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $148,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2019, and we launched the product in June 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project was very successful. We’re talking about working together again on more projects. They delivered a cutting edge solution.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Their performance was excellent. They were always on top of things and were easy to communicate with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re comfortable with cutting edge technologies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, that’s why we’re going to keep working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid to ask for the impossible because they’ll come up with an answer.

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality Labs’ work has been exceptional. Doctors, patients, and internal stakeholders reported the virtual tool is an exact replica of its physical work counterpart. Customers can expect a professional team that’s professional and adds a personal touch to their engagements.
"“They’re very proactive and work to make your product even better.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of a digital products firm that does mobile applications, virtual reality, augmented reality, video production, and photography.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We were looking for a partner to help us with a virtual reality project for a neurosurgeon.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We were creating a virtual environment in the HTC VIVE eye-tracking headset to help neurosurgeons understand how their patients how their patient’s vision is while the back of their head is cut open, and they’re performing surgery to remove a tumor that could be affecting their vision.

It allowed us to replicate a physical world device that wouldn’t be possible to put on the person’s face while surgery was happening. They provided project management, product design, and consultation. They also provided development for the computer interface for the application and the VR application itself.

What is the team composition?

We worked with five people from their team.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

We came across them online and they had excellent reviews. We checked a couple of different references, and I met with Eugene (CTO) in person. He really knows the digital and virtual reality space well and he’s an excellent partner.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent less than $10,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019, and our work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The biggest thing for us is accountability and setting expectations. Lucid always deliver on time, if not early. When they discover something in the code, they’re very proactive and work to make your product even better. We’ve had doctors and patients say that what we’ve created using VR is the exact replica of a $500,000 machine that weighs 250 lbs., and stands four feet tall.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re an 11 out of 10. Our main modes of communication are Slack and Zoom. The team is very open to calls and conversations, which helps us get that personalized touch. They’re true professionals.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very good at what they do. There’s a whole process that we go through with them when we start projects with them, and that kind of think-tank possibilities exploration is where we feel like we have a true partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to share your vision with them and explore the possibilities of what’s possible.

**The Review** — Aug 12, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality's contributions resulted in higher than expected levels of customer engagement, pleasing internal stakeholders. Throughout the engagement, the team has been highly professional, creative, and collaborative. They've excelled as partners
""Lucid Reality understood our mindset and needs from the first meeting."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’ve been working for L’Oréal Ukraine for more than five years, and I’m currently a brand director for a local luxury salon brand. I’m responsible for the marketing, education, and commercial parts.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We’ve been in the Ukrainian market for more than 13 years, and we understand that the age of our audience is above 35 years.

The more important audience for us is younger people 25–35 years old, because they spend more money on beauty. We went to Lucid Reality Labs in order to give our brand a more creative and younger look.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our first project with Lucid Reality was for a franchise we launched in 2019. They created an AR presentation through which people could play with and read about our new products, as well as experience being in our new salon. The software also allowed us to collect data that we could use for future products.

We created an Instagram campaign with them in 2020, for a new launch.

What is the team composition?

I worked with three people from Lucid Reality: a creative manager, a project manager, and a global director.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

Lucid Reality was recommended to us by one of our digital agencies, which described them as a young team that understood the business. We gave them a try and decided that we’d like to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

The first project cost €16,000–€17,000 (approximately $19,000–$20,000 USD), and the work in 2020 cost €3,000 (approximately $3,500 USD). I think we would’ve spent €10,000–€15,000 (approximately $11,000–$17,000 USD) had it not been for the pandemic.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our first project with them in February 2019. We’d like to work on more innovative projects with them, but our marketing budget has been restricted due to the COVID situation.

I’ve also referred them to other divisions within our company.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everyone in my team is satisfied with Lucid Reality’s work. We collected 30% more data than we planned. There were more than 500 people that spent time with the AR software during our event, which is more than we were expecting.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

I was very satisfied working with them. Lucid Reality is really creative, they understood our products and brand needs, and they worked very fast. We usually communicated through email, and we also had meetings, which were in person in 2019 and online in 2020.

Their administrative manager followed up with us at each step, which made it very easy to work with them. The team proposed good ideas, and we had no misunderstandings. The communication was easy and clear, and they were able to work autonomously, without having us go over every detail of what they were doing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I don’t have experience working with this kind of company, but I can see why people referred Lucid Reality to me. They’re creative, modern, and fast, and they understand what the client needs.

Lucid Reality understood our mindset and needs from the first meeting. They delivered everything quickly and with good quality.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so. Everyone in my team was satisfied with the results, and we’ll continue working with Lucid Reality.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I’ve referred them to other people in the L’Oréal company.

I’m the CTO of a manufacturing AR development firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We needed to do some proof of concepts for AR technology.

The team is willing to learn, ideate, and work hard to deliver results. Customers can expect a talented team that goes the extra mile.
""The team is very agile, adaptive, and has creative out-of-the-box thinkers."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the senior marketing manager for Europe and Eastern Africa at a respiratory and monitoring solutions company. Our solutions are used in critical care and anesthesiology

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We hired them to create an immersive virtual reality environment.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a virtual reality environment where we could use one of our focus products, which is a video laryngoscope. We wanted to give clinicians and anesthesiologists the ability to perform intubation in virtual reality for training.

What is the team composition?

We worked with eight people from their team.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

We were looking for a company that really stood out in their capabilities of developing virtual reality. The project was first made in the US with a different supplier, and it was by no means as immersive as what Lucid Reality Labs developed. They were a small, very advanced company.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2018, and our work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The team is very agile, adaptive, and has creative out-of-the-box thinkers. The quality of their work is outstanding. When you step into that virtual reality environment, you’re in a different world; it’s almost like you’re bringing the OR to the customer. People were waiting in line to try out this product at our trade shows and they were very eager about it. They saw the real benefit in it, to the point that some physicians requested to have it in their facilities. We also had lead and demand generation, so overall it’s been a great addition to what we offer.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Most times, they were done before their deadlines. The team was also very agile and quick while developing. There was never a moment where we were delayed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When we started working with them, I don’t believe they were familiar with the medical device world. They took the time to immerse themselves, learn very quickly, and ask the right questions. Whatever was required to display the right information was there.

They were also very quick in making changes. Whenever we asked for an adjustment, they would do it overnight. The team was always there and eager to help. They didn’t just do what we asked, they thought with us on how to use their technology to the highest level.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In the beginning, we had a bit of a language barrier, but that quickly resolved itself. Other than that, nothing could be improved.

**The Review** — Jul 1, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The work delivered by Lucid Reality Labs met all requirements from the client and allowed them to deliver the final product to their customer on schedule. Their team was highly committed to the project, working independently to reduce their client’s workload and making all changes requested of them.
"“Their combination of technical skill and dedication made it incredibly enjoyable to work with them.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a digital agency specializing in digital experiences based in augmented and virtual reality applications. We also do a lot of 3D animations and virtual exhibition applications. I am the general manager and founder of the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

We had a request for a special kind of technology module for an augmented reality application. The app itself serves as a kind of tinder for car rims, where you can point your camera at your car and the application will layer new rims on top of your existing rims to help you visualize how they will look.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The component that their team built was the automatic rim detection so that you do not have to manually designate the position and size of your car’s rims within the camera frame. It was based off of a tracking model with analytics to detect car rims in 3D space, so we used an AR kit on iOS technology, based on the framework from Unity 3D.

What was the team composition?

I’m not exactly sure how many of their team members were working behind the scenes, but as far as the ones I interacted with there were a few project managers and as many as 4–5 coders depending on the part of the project.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

We screened a few companies on Upwork, and Lucid Reality impressed us the most with their proposal and early interviews. We were convinced that they had the capabilities to handle most of the development independently of us giving them every direction for each individual milestone.

How much have you invested with them?

In total, we spent around $13,000–$14,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from August 2019–January 2020, but we have continued to make periodic changes as needed since then.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The code itself that they delivered to us was very well written and passed all of the tests that we used to evaluate it, which is quite rare for third-party work. Throughout the process, they provided consistent updates via images and screen captures of their work without us even having to ask them for updates, which made it much easier to track all of our projects.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication between the teams of developers was excellent. Usually, when you have a question about the status or a specific feature in the product, the response from them takes about 15-20 minutes, whether it’s coming from a developer or one of their executives.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Last week I got a request from of our programmers explaining an issue with the component that was impeding an upgrade we wanted to make. Our team took that to their team, and two hours later everything was sorted out and we were able to make the update without any additional cost.

Their service is incredible and really demonstrates the level of commitment that they have to their customers. Not only that, however, but they have an incredible depth of technical understanding in this area. Their combination of technical skill and dedication made it incredibly enjoyable to work with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I really don’t have any complaints; we are very happy with them and plan to bring them on again as soon as we have another project.

**The Review** — Jun 30, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Lucid Reality Labs's tool was very impressive. The tool garnered plenty of attention and requests. They kept their promises and delivered a strong final product.
""They kept their promises."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We are a global leader in medical technology, services, and solutions. We collaborate with others to take on healthcare's greatest challenges.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Lucid Reality Labs?

For our innovative technology for hysteroscopic procedures, Lucid Reality Labs developed a procedure simulation in 3D.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to showcase the value of our technology and demonstrate the simplicity and safety. We are using this tool at congresses and workshops. Right now we are working on some exciting extensions of the existing modules, which will enable us to even go one step further and use it for training.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

I have seen the amazing procedure simulation that Lucid Reality Labs have created for another Medtronic business unit. And I immediately knew: this is the way to go!

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Lucid Reality Labs developed a simulation of two different hysteroscopic procedures in 3D. This interactive tool offers the opportunity to get familiar with our equipment, and learn the technique to remove pathologies. It is very realistic, and we get excellent feedback from everyone trying it.

What was the team composition?

Within Medtronic, 2 people were directly involved in the procedure development. And we also got support from our customers: We wanted to make sure that the simulation is as realistic as possible, so Lucid Reality Labs and our team spent two days in a hospital, studying the procedure setup and every single step.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

When the surgeon, who initially invented our product portfolio 15 years ago, sat down to try the VR simulation, and was more than impressed by this tool, we knew that we had accomplished something meaningful. It´s an excellent way to draw more attention to our booth, start conversations with potential new customers, and explain the value of our technology not only through words, but through a realistic and playful experience. We immediately received lots of requests for other Gyn events wordwide, which shows how much interest we could generate.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

When Lucid Reality Labs presented their plans and timeline in the beginning, I thought it was very ambitious. But they kept their promises.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

From the first conversation until the final product it took less than seven months, which is very impressive, especially when you consider that they didn´t have any expertise in gynecology in the beginning. I 100% trust them, because they did not only stick to their ambitious timeline, but they also have a deep understanding of how human beings think, learn, work and have fun. They are able to combine all of that, and therefor create a unique experience for our audience. The final product was much better than I had initially thought.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No areas for improvement. 5 stars and a huge "Thank you!"

""I think they genuinely want to see their clients succeed."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of a beauty platform. Customers can try on makeup products virtually before purchasing. We also help customers find the right products by allowing them to upload images of the final look they want.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenges were you trying to address with Lucid Realty Labs?

Prior to working with them, we worked with another developer. However, it wasn’t working out so we wanted to find a new vendor.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They picked up where the precious vendor left off. Their team fixed the previous vendor’s work and completed the development for the augmented reality features I mentioned above. They also helped improve our suggestions algorithm.

What is the team composition?

I worked with a team of five people including the project manager, CEO, and QA person.

How did you come to work with Lucid Realty Labs?

I was looking for developers using a few different online platforms. A lot of vendors were claiming that they had the knowledge and skills, but couldn’t prove their expertise. On the other hand, Lucid Reality Labs showed us examples of their work and answered my technical questions clearly.

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been working with them since May 2020, and our work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I think the general quality of their work is really good. They exceeded my expectations and made things very easy for me. They’ve set up the platform so it’s easy for me to access myself even though I’m not a technical person.

How did Lucid Realty Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Although we’ve only worked together for a month and a half, they’ve delivered on time and been very responsive so far. We have weekly project calls, and they respond to my messages within a few hours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate that they’re trying to help me solve the problem and find the best solution. They provide insight on the beauty industry as well. I think they genuinely want to see their clients succeed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, in my experience they’re close to perfect.

**Feedback Summary**: The application is successful in its functionality and beautiful in its design. The Lucid Reality Labs team is comprised of experts and problem solvers. They addressed issues as they arose and communicated on a regular basis. Professionalism and seamless collaboration are hallmarks of their work.
"“Their ability to match our needs through the design and UX was exemplary.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of Technodramatists, a theatre and tech company. We take emerging technologies like AR to create tools and productions for the use of live performances for theatre, concerts, comedy, and so on.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

Our team ran into some difficulties we couldn’t service on our own, so we partnered with Lucid Reality Labs to help solve those problems and create our application.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
They handle our AR development efforts. We were building an app that’d do facial and motion capture for live performances. Basically, it’d allow people to control avatars with facial movements in real-time as they perform. Their team used ARKit for development.

What is the team composition?

There are about 4–5 team members overall, but we work with 2–3 individuals on a regular basis.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I found them on Upwork. They had a certain degree of professionalism that I liked. What’s more, they saw what our problem was, scoped out a solution, and presented a strong proposal.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership began in February 2019, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The final application worked beautifully. They’re experts at ARKit and AR development in general. The Lucid Reality Labs team is full of incredible problem solvers. All sorts of things came up throughout the project because we were still discovering details as we moved along; however, they rolled with the punches, which was really amazing.

Despite being in a different time zone, they meet deadlines and are always there to help us work through a problem. Currently, we’re working on new projects with them — there’s no better compliment than that.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Our teams have a shared Slack channel that’s organized and helpful. We also use Skype for video conferencing. It’s much easier to communicate through these channels than through back-and-forth emails because it gets us to the bottom of problems a lot faster.

I have an account manager and he has a technological specialist he works with. I often get on calls with both of them so I don’t have to translate things through our account manager. Their CTO checks in fairly regularly to make sure the project’s going smoothly and things are progressing. Once in a while, even their CEO will check in to make sure things are all right.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The UX they designed was incredible. Not to mention, they’re dealing with something they had never experienced before. Likewise, UX is not something I was an expert in so I got the opportunity to learn more about it. Their ability to match our needs through the design and UX was exemplary.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m really pleased with everything.

**Feedback Summary**: The partnership is marked by a high level of collaboration. Lucid Reality Labs is open to ideas and willing to offer their own to further improve the client’s app. They’re flexible to different project management processes yet thorough in defining and delivering their work.
""They not only understand what I ask for but also read into my intent and offer options that I didn’t think of."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of a mind mapping software company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Lucid Reality Labs?

The idea was to create an AR productivity app with Google’s Tango platform. After Google discontinued that platform, Lucid Reality Labs helped me move my app to emerging AR platforms that are more common today like ARCore and ARKit for iOS.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Lucid Reality Labs develops my work on the Unity platform and using C#. They have done very high-quality work developing the app and documenting their code.

What is the team composition?

We work with a minimum of six people. There are more testers behind the scenes that I don’t interface with. We transitioned through a couple of lead developers since the start, but Lucid Reality Labs managed those transitions very well.

How did you come to work with Lucid Reality Labs?

I found them on an outsourcing board like Upwork when they were just getting started as a business. I put out my project and saw hundreds of responses. I replied to everyone that expressed interest and asked them to develop a full scope of the project within a week. I would pay their developer rate for that week’s work.

Out of the avalanche of applications, only five responded to my request, and only two followed through. Lucid Reality Labs was the best of the two responses.

How much have you invested with them?

It’s easily over $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been working with Lucid Reality Labs since early 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of work is great. Lucid Reality Labs is super collaborative. I come to them with ideas, and they not only understand what I ask for but also read into my intent and offer options that I didn’t think of. I definitely see the amplification effect working with their team.

How did Lucid Reality Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very flexible We use an update process that I defined, and Lucid Reality Labs has accommodated it without issue. It’s a virtual daily standup via Skype, Slack, or another messaging app. I give them a brief daily form of updates, and they’ve been great with taking that and making it a springboard for dialogue when necessary.

We used to use Trello to track milestones, but now we have Jira. I have access to the board and can easily see what Lucid Reality Labs is billing me for and what work is being done. It makes me feel confident that everything’s moving along.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lucid Reality Labs does a great job of specifying the work they’re going to do and delivering it in weekly increments that are client-testable. That lets me see the project as it goes.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, none come to mind right now. But if there were ever an issue, I’d bring it up and they’d address it immediately. They’re super responsive and constantly seeking to improve.

### American Red Cross Lifeguard VR Training
Multi-Scenario Customized Simulation in Virtual Environment to Save Lives
In the USA, more children ages 1–4 die from drowning than any other cause of death. For children ages 5–14, drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death after motor vehicle crashes*. To address this immense challenge, the American Red Cross focuses its efforts on providing knowledge and skills to help prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies.
The American Red Cross project solves the challenge of improving the effectiveness of lifeguard and water safety certification for the over 54,000 lifeguards employed across the United States. The current program certifies thousands annually but doesn’t provide the variability and repetition of simulation to ensure lifeguards are able to rapidly identify and respond to dangerous drowning incidents. Providing additional opportunities to reinforce core concepts and environmental variability hones critical skills and ensures better preparedness and safety for the nation’s swimmers.
When developing this project, Lucid Reality Labs kept these challenges top of mind, developing a solution designed to support existing American Red Cross training programs that include instructor-led training sessions, all built upon a platform designed for maximum scalability.
High-quality visual fidelity and modeling to accurately simulate the variability of light, movement, and distortions created by unique water environments was a core requirement, along with ease of use and accessibility across headset options.
Finally, the platform supports on-demand access to learner dashboards, custom assignments, progress, and performance analytics to support managing thousands of learners and instructors, with evaluation and certification conducted by instructors within established American Red Cross training processes.

### Universal WebAR Mixed Reality HHN Activation
Universal Destinations and Experiences partnered with Lucid Reality Labs to create a web based mixed reality activation that expanded the world of Halloween Horror Nights beyond the physical event. Towering above the iconic arches in Hollywood and Orlando, a digital gargoyle came to life, breaking free from stone and merging with the transformed arches that echoed a gothic aesthetic, turning the entrance itself into part of the unfolding story.
Triggered through the Universal app, guests could unlock a hidden AR sequence that began with a whisper and ended with a roar. As the story unfolded, guests aligned their devices with the arches and watched as the creature cracked from stone, spread its wings, and took flight over the crowd before vanishing into the fog. The scene created a powerful illusion: the gargoyle jumped from the arch, screams erupted behind it, and in the distance, silhouettes of other gargoyles could be seen carrying people into the night sky.

Developed using web based AR with advanced world tracking and environmental mapping, the experience achieved precise alignment between the virtual creature and the physical environment, ensuring a seamless transformation of the park’s signature gateway into a living part of the narrative.

The activation captivated audiences across both coasts, transforming Universal’s arches into shared moments of fright and wonder. By connecting web based AR with the Universal app and extending the story into social platforms, the experience elevated Halloween Horror Nights into an evolving universe of interactive storytelling and audience engagement.

### Universal Mobile AR Social Media Campaign
To promote Universal Destinations & Experiences’ Halloween Horror Nights — the celebrated scare event at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood — Lucid Reality Labs developed a social media AR activation that enabled fans to enter the horror before entering the park.
Triggered by QR codes embedded in streaming ads, the experience aligned with viewers’ natural multi-screening behaviour. One scan transformed their room into a haunted graveyard, with tombstones emerging and an uncanny ambience setting the atmosphere.
At the centre of the activation was La Muerte, a haunting figure inspired by Latin American folklore, introduced as the dark spirit of Halloween Horror Nights. As the AR scene intensified, La Muerte appeared and advanced, creating the chilling sensation that she was hunting the user in their own space.
The encounter delivered immersive impact through layered spatial audio, AR visuals, and haptic feedback, producing a vivid and sensory-rich moment of suspense. In selfie mode, users experienced La Muerte right behind them and were encouraged to capture and share the moment — turning fans into storytellers and amplifying the experience via social media.“The guest journey can begin before arrival. AR helps us surprise and delight fans — on their devices, in their feeds, and in their imaginations.” — Universal Destinations & ExperiencesRead more: https://lucidrealitylabs.com/

### H&M Home AR Web Mobile App
The main objective of the project was to develop a promo mobile Web AR App for opening an H&M Home store in Paris, France. The goal of the immersive experience was to attract as many people as possible using the AR experience, which included an AR lottery and AR gift drafts.
The client, H&M in collaboration with RISE creative agency, wished for participants to have a multi step AR experience. In order to achieve this, a two meter tall physical key mock-up was placed in a number of locations across Paris, right across multiple subway entrances, in order to serve as the starting points of the AR experience and direct customers to the new H&M Home store.
The AR experience was met with great delight and has resonated with the store customers, providing an opportunity to engage with the brand in a fun and immersive way.
Solution
The experience would launch through scanning the QR code, located on the stand of the H&M key mock-up, opening the browser with a Web mobile App. In order to reach the new store destination the tracking of their journey has been done via world tracking capability of the 8th Wall.
At the launch point of the experience, a digital visual of a key matching the physical mock-up would appear in AR through the Web mobile App. This AR key would then show the App users where the H&M store’s physical location was.
Once the user reaches the destination they are prompted to scan the next tracking image which launches an AR animation and opens a door into a virtual room. Inside the room the users find themselves inside the surrounding 360 Virtual room with H&M merchandise.
Reaching the 360 Virtual room automatically launches the lottery algorithm, which appears 10 seconds after the user has entered the room. The pop-up (overlay) would then appear indicating if the user won the lottery or not, and if not prompting him/her to return the next day and try again.

### Philips Quality Assurance VR Training
In atherosclerosis, fatty deposits build up on the arterial walls, forming plaque. This process narrows the blood vessels and reduces blood flow. With a drug-coated angioplasty balloon, Stellarex 035, a global leader in health technology, Philips created the possibility of cleaning the vessel, ensuring better blood flow and lessening the complications of the disease.

When a blockage in an artery is determined, a drug-coated balloon is inserted until it reaches the desired treatment area. It is then inflated so that it pushes outwards up against the inside walls of the artery. This pressing against the arterial walls allows the drug-coating to attach to the arterial walls and the plaque, causing the blockage. This is how the curing drug is delivered to the vessel, where it starts doing its job to ensure its rescue.
The sophisticated quality control technique of inserting the drug-coated balloon is essential for further effective procedures. Philips’ challenge was educating personnel on executing the quality control procedures, which implies no room for mistakes as patients’ lives depend on it. Quality supervision involves work with the machinery and equipment and numerous visual and manual checks, which are technically challenging to replicate and digitalize in virtual reality.
Lucid Reality Labs designed and developed the award-winning training solution for Philips quality control specialists to address this complicated challenge. The simulation recreated the detailed laboratory environment with the highest level of authenticity, from the tools, machines, and stations to the real-life feeling of immersion in the laboratory’s sounds, lights, and processes.

The VR experience blurs the boundaries of the tactile barrier, allowing users of any age to fully immerse into the experience within 2 minutes, as one steps into the OR to experience the sensation of a real intubation process.

The VR experience received excellent feedback, with practitioners pointing out that it is an excellent education and training tool allowing them to follow the correct steps, help motorically remember the proper device use and sequence, and increase the speed at which they can perform the procedure. The immersion allowed professionals to experience the intubation process from the beginning to the end, live through the entire scenario, and react to certain intubation situations and patient needs. The full case study: https://lucidrealitylabs.com/case/interactive-intubation-simulation

### 3M VR Safety Training for Machinery Operators
The project’s objective was to create an immersive VR simulation to raise awareness about the danger the lamination machinery can carry for its operators and to train workers to obey the safety requirements.
The main challenge that the VR training helped overcome is the mindset of the workers who did not consider the machinery a potential threat to themselves and the doubt they had about any potentially harmful situation arising for them personally.
The developed VR simulation solution combines hand tracking and inverse kinematics. It enables a first-person view inside the experience and submerges users to feel as if they were physically present.
The team has developed several machinery interaction scenarios where one of the scenarios imposed a threat of capturing the workers’ hands if they did not follow the machinery operation procedures and necessary safety guidelines.

### Commonly Asked Questions

**What AI, XR, robotics and simulation solutions does Lucid Reality Labs build?**
Lucid Reality Labs develops enterprise AI, XR, digital twin, and simulation systems for organizations where accuracy, scalability, and operational reliability are critical. We help enterprises transform Standard Operating Procedures, complex workflows, products, and real-world environments into immersive, repeatable training and simulation systems that allow teams to gain hands-on experience quickly, safely, and at scale.

Our solutions are designed for high-impact use cases across healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, robotics, and robotics-related workflows. By combining AI-powered simulations, digital twins, scenario generation, AI agents, analytics dashboards, and multi-user real-time 3D environments, we help organizations accelerate workforce training, improve operational readiness, validate procedures, and prepare personnel for high-stakes real-world performance.

**What is your typical project process?**
We follow a structured enterprise delivery process that begins with discovery, requirements alignment, and a clear understanding of the client’s operational objectives. At this stage, we analyze the relevant Standard Operating Procedures, workflows, user roles, training requirements, technical environment, integration needs, and measurable success criteria.

We then define the solution architecture, user experience, simulation logic, technology stack, data and analytics approach, security requirements, deployment strategy, and implementation roadmap. This is followed by prototyping, iterative development, testing, validation, deployment, and post-launch optimization to ensure the system is technically robust, operationally relevant, scalable, and aligned with measurable business outcomes.

**How do you approach pricing and project budgets?**
Our pricing approach is based on structured project scoping, technical complexity, and the measurable business value each system is expected to deliver. For enterprise AI, XR, digital twin, and simulation projects, budgets depend on factors such as solution scope, target platforms, simulation fidelity, AI capabilities, analytics requirements, content volume, system integrations, security and compliance needs, deployment environment, and scalability requirements.

For complex or innovation-driven projects, we often recommend starting with a discovery phase, prototype, or clearly defined MVP. This helps validate the solution architecture, clarify technical and operational requirements, define a realistic budget and implementation roadmap, reduce delivery risk, and ensure investment is aligned with measurable operational and business outcomes.

**How do you ensure quality, security, and enterprise readiness?**
We follow structured quality assurance, testing, validation, and deployment readiness processes designed for enterprise, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, aerospace, and other regulated or operationally complex environments. Our approach covers performance, scalability, usability, simulation accuracy, secure deployment, analytics, system integrations, and long-term maintainability.

As an ISO 27001-certified company working in line with GDPR and HIPAA requirements, we prioritize data protection, information security, access control, reliability, and operational continuity throughout the solution lifecycle. This helps ensure that our AI, XR, digital twin, and simulation systems are ready for enterprise deployment, integration, and ongoing use at scale.

**Can your solutions integrate with existing enterprise systems?**
Yes. We design AI-powered XR, digital twin, simulation, and operational intelligence systems that integrate with existing enterprise environments, including learning management systems, enterprise resource planning platforms, analytics tools, workflow management systems, knowledge bases, internal APIs, and other business-critical applications.

We help organizations transform Standard Operating Procedures, documented processes, operational knowledge, and complex workflows into AI-assisted training, simulation, and digital twin environments. By incorporating spatial context, process logic, equipment behavior, real-world operational conditions, and enterprise data, our systems support workforce training, process validation, robotics-related use cases, operational readiness, and scalable knowledge transfer.
